Yes! Airbus should definitely bring out a better A380. I recall reading that the wing was 'over engineered' in anticipation of a longer, even higher capacity fuselage. This is part of the reason for the lower than ideal fuel consumption in the existing A380s. A redesign of the wing, perhaps with folding wing tips like the Boeing 777X, for more powerful yet more fuel efficient engines offers another possibility. Perhaps a redesign could enhance the A380 as a freighter as well. I know Airbus did not consider this originally, but surely regret that now. The air freight business is massive these days. Yes, I've been a passenger in the A380, but only in Business Class. I have found that all Airbus aircraft fly more smoothly and are definitely quieter than any Boeing, and I've ridden in them all many times. These days I'd rather take the bus instead of a Boeing aircraft. An Airbus, of course.
These are the Avgeek channels three favourite speculations. 1) An A380Neo. 2) An A350Neo or -2000 and 3) A Boeing replacement for the 757, the NMA. 1) Its not going to happen. 2) is not going to happen this decade, and 3) Not going to happen for 10 years, if at all. There, all sorted, viewers can get on with the rest of their lives now............
I love the A380. I think Airbus should revive the A380, first, by developping a freighter neo version. And then, if Tim Clark is willing to place an order for 200, then Airbus should build the passenger A380-1000 neo
@@FLIGAVIA This would correct the mistake Airbus made when they dropped the freighter A380 version that UPS and FedEx ordered and wanted. I'm sure Kalitta and many other freight carrier would consider a huge freighter like the A380-1000F, with a dual reinforced floor and a rear loading ramp.
A 1000 seat / lighter carbon / fuel effect wing reshape with latest engines will shift break even point from 85% to am much better value, e.g. 65-70%. For connecting airports with limited time slot capacity (e.g. London, NY) a perfect fit. If airlines would provide a sufficient qtyfix preorders, this could be a workable business case.
We`ll see B787 & A350 get `Neo` treatment before entertaining an A380 comeback I reckon. RR`s UltraFan will need backing from either or both to proceed with development for a specific thrust rating for those two aircraft but the curious thing is that rating would suit an A380 too that being 75,000 to 85,000lbs. B787 & A350 would benefit from an UltraFan upgrade but it`s probably some way off as order books are stuffed so there`s no real pressure on either to persue a Neo atm. Personally I`d love to see UltraFan on the A380, for me it`s `unfinished business` that such a wonderful aircraft only sold 250 odd units, it deserved a much longer run but Covid interviened sadly.
I never see AIRBUS A380neo on this year of 2025 like this because, on 2021 years ago during COVID-19 pandemic that still spreading across the world AIRBUS end of production of A380 as I know for AIRBUS A380's production has already stop.
What made me thinking about every new plane and new engine coming out into the Market is the Speed !!!! Back in 20 -30 yrs ago from asia to UK about 13-14 hours and now with the new GE new RR engine. From spore to UK still the same 14 hrs so whats the different actually ? Is this some sort of Game Plan so they buy more fuel ??? and sell more expensives tickets ??
If speed were the sole priority, the aviation industry might explore supersonic travel again, but current technology and market dynamics favor efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Love the channel. Keep them coming. Good stuff
Thanks
Many thanks for your support ❤

Agree!
The second hand market just appears in 2025 with a huge Indian project.
Then it could be possible to sale brand new A380's.🎉
Thanks. I am so not shocked that Airbus has a HUGE plan for not building any more A380s.
@hendrikbarboritsch7003 .. just as well it’s not a Boeing product … all those dead passengers!

Great idea! Airbus should consider!

I'm looking forward to it too!

We all know that. But it's unbelievable if they reproduce this jumbo jet, right?
