it could be 2 things: they baked too long or the size of the meringue was too small. baking time will depend on your oven so you'll have to try it. and for the size, the smaller they are the more they will bake inside and out. if they are larger, they will bake outside and bake less inside. so when they cool down, the outside is crunchy and the inside is chewy. it's all about your preferences.
If the cookies are still stuck, it means that the meringue has to cook longer. the meringue basically cooks in a really low temperature until it becomes dry :-)

I hope you notice my comment. I want to ask does the walnut get crunchy even for some time? How if I roast the walnut for few minutes before adding it to the meringue? will the walnut get to overroast?

i recently attended a christmas party/cookout and someone brought "heavenly pecans." the woman who made them told me the ingredients but no measurements or method of baking. this sounds very similar so i will try your recipe but with the pecans. thank you!
I made them. I think they taste pretty good. But, the exterior wasn't as crunchy as I expected. They came out a bit sticky on the outside and chewy on the inside. What went wrong?
Dear alia, Thank you for this recipe, it tastes awesome! My mum and my siblings really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the Cookies did not come off the parchment paper, they sticked to it. So i had to cut the parchment paper along the cookies so that they were seperate x)

Looks delicious. I make a very similar Italian cookie called Brutti ma Buoni which translates to ugly but good. It describes the cookies well.

i have a question: i made this today they were absolutely delicious but they weren't shewy inside they were crunchy do you have an idea why??
