With the price of fuel these days, that new Honda is a welcomed sight. Like the Highfield logo on the top of the helm, adds a great touch. Carry this down the sport line 👍

Whn making an engine review it would be nice to see the engine and components like throttle, steering set up, engine mount, etc. All boaters have seen plenty of water go by

    Vtec kicked in yo...
Love my hondas, had a good few over the years and I wouldnt drive anything else.
Your partnership with Honda is how I discovered Highfield.
That size boat with that engine seems to be a great combo.

The DOHC VTEC effect is highly desirable for smaller lighter boats that are literally rated for 150-175hp maximum power. Like a larger skiff (still lighter than this) or a mid range bass boat, certain jon boats or an Australian tinny designed to handle EXTREMELY rough surf on the west coast of australia i believe is where you see these tinnys. They look like hollowed out barcrushers. Very robust, very light and seaworthy. It's nice because at lower RPM's when that engine is equipped on a lighter vessel (in relation to the engines power output) it quickly shoves the boat onto plane and then the VTEC hits at exactly the correct time for post-plane acceleration. There aren't many perfect boats for this engine out there (although I believe it has many applications) but the most harmonious and optimal of BF150 applications in my opinion is gonna be on a lighter vessel designed for acceleration and moderately high top speeds.

best outboard on the market on paper, most advanced, manufacturers of boats should make more boats rated for 150hp and 100hp to take advantage of honda’s incredible VTEC outboards.

How much does the boat weigh. Trying to decide on a 150 or 175hp on a new boat.

I'm trying to figure out why more Honda outboards aren't sold in the United States?

Honda’s are heavier as you move up in HP. Dealer networks too. Suzuki in the mainland is a popular repower choice in the mainland, but I’m in Hawaii and we aren’t given a 5 year warranty like the mainland (we’re treated as international so 3 years only).
The spring promo for Honda, $1200 discount and extra 2 years of protection service (7 years total) is what made me go with a Honda.

Why have an ad about the engine and not show more of the throttle controls, gauges and readouts. Watching the bow bounce up and down doesn’t help me at all.
