@@reflectionist I'll give you the bowling pins. But all the other examples are nowhere near that cringe we are talking about. You could debate it as bad/lazy writting. But even horror movies need fun line or two to keep it going.
See, I liked this movie. A lot of people didn't understand that all the "cheesy cringe" was on purpose.....ironically. they were making fun of those words like OMG. And the entire movie is scenes from the original trilogy redone for the premise of the movie...being that the og movie(considered real life for Neo) was cut scenes from a game he made in real life(a matrix). The "zombie" part was from part 2 and 3 with all of the agent Smiths. The motorcycle part was from part 3 when the sentinels were coming head on amd Neo force pushed them and they explode......EVERY SCENE IS A RETAKE ON A SCENE FROM THE OG TRILOGY 😆 The other movies explains that there have been hundreds of Neos before the one we see in the og trilogy. In the og trilogy Trinity had already chosen, but Noe didn't get his real powers until she admitted it to him.
I think the big issue is that it seems like very few people have got the throughline for this movie. This is the movie the Wachowski sisters didn't want to make, but they forced Lana's hand, so she made the movie that was completely on the nose to hammer it home. One the matrix had its effect on society already. Second the entire trilogy was a story of transition, this is the logical conclusion to that. The other movies were realization and coming to the knowledge, this one was actuating the knowledge and transitioning. Don't believe it? Well the last scene is quite clear. Neo the internal protector, falls away so that the new entity Trinity can take the front seat. Which is why Trinity sees the sun first and trinity makes the choices from then on. Its Trinity who flys and trinity who decides that the big huge combat and turmoil was over. She came into her own. From then on, you only see Neo behind Trinity.. because she has emerged from transition a new woman. I'm not surprised this went over alot of peoples heads but its right there on the screen if you are clued in to it. Glad you enjoyed it somewhat but watch it again from a gender transition point of view and everything makes sense. By the by neither Wachowski wants to make another one either.
Check out the matrix explained youtube videos, he does a deep dive into the franchise if you are interested. Agree with the gripes, but i think it was done on purpose :D
Probly already know this but the actress that plays buggs plays in Netflix Iron Fist as Danny's girlfriend, I dint recognize her due to her real accent and different style of clothing and hair
Another note he had been drugged for 60 years so his fighting would be off and this is all new with him unloading. That’s why we need more movies to go deeper. But I love this reaction💜
While I think the film was entirely unnecessary, written like a teenager's fanfiction, and had far too many flashback cut-ins.. I enjoyed it for what it was. I don't think its ruined the legacy or anything. I just won't be queuing up to buy the Blu-ray in a couple of months.

Trinity's husband Chad is chad stahelski director of all of the john wick movies and was the stunt coordinator for the matrix trilogy he also played an agent in them too
@@scottchaison1001 it's not only easily the worst matrix movie, but just as bad as jupiter ascending. i remember seeing jupiter ascending at the store, i read the back of the box and it said "created by the writers and directors of the matrix", so i bought it, thinking it would be awesome. started watching it and about 40 mins in stopped, not caring to ever try to watch it again. a while later when i looked it up, it was on nearly every list of worst movies of the year, just like i knew it would be. the matrix 4 is also one of the worst movies ever made, but many fans will defend any garbage with a matrix label on it, that's just the way people are programmed to think.
I literally notice that too. Like everyone had a member of their crew die in the matrix but here they all some how lived. The archived flash backs honestly kept taking me out of headspace. To me it was more catered to people that never saw the matrix films before.
I felt that was so weird, it was like there were elements of serious stakes in the film, no sacrifices at all; it felt very hollow when trying to make the point of this being something to care about. It felt so safe.
The movie was cool, but it would've been even cooler with a slight twist in the lore - changing the effects of the blue and the red pills. That would've portraited the AI even more advanced, if its recognizing the patterns in the human mind and making adjustments on the fly. That would've also helped keeping Neo confused for longer.
I actually really enjoyed it, I like that it rebooted the concept and changed it and reorganized it, but I think I'm in the minority but then I was in the minority about liking the other two as well, so...
I am subscribed to both of your channels and already watched this reaction on his channel but I will watch it again on your channel just for the “Chad” jokes alone.👍😂
Did something happen with keanu’s lower teeth? They seem a bit wonky these days. I never noticed it until this movie. Never noticed it in the matrix movies or any others
As someone who always believed that Trinity and Neo made up the One together, I loved the last hour-hour and a half of this film, once we knew what the true goal was. It just sucked that it took an hour-plus to get there. And not having the same cinematographer or fight choreographer definitely showed.
26:42 ....This moment exactly is the perfect metaphor about how audiences should behave towards movies fueled by nostalgia..... We (the audience) are lethargic and completely unconscious through all the memories, just as Neo is. And just like him, when we wake up from the dream, we have to pull out a Biggus Diccus out of our throats..... If that's not a metaphor, may God come down from heaven itself and witness it; so, next time you get yourself driven by nostalgia, wake up and get that Biggus Diccus out of your throat.... (I know this sounds stupid, but if you think about it, you'll see the logic behind)
I'm torn on either agreeing with you or disagreeing to the point of wanting to break down why your wrong... but upon contemplation... I realize I need you to define what you mean by "Movies fueled by Nostalgia". Cause, yes Matrix revolutions is "fueled" by nostalgia, but it was not *asked for* by the nostalgia of the fans of the first movies. So if you're talking about all the fans that are pissed off about this movie because of how it fucks up and shits on the originals, as if they "have been deepthroating the nostalgia", well... they are not wrong. But, before I continue, I'll need that definition of what you mean.
@@dementare I'm talking about how producers and big companies (like WB) use old franchises (that's the nostalgia I refer) as an excuse to make crappy movies and pull them down our "throats" in the believe that using a reconocible name is enough to please us..... It's not just the Matrix; Ghostbusters, Charlie's Angels, etc.....They don't care about quality, just in nostalgia from the viewers, just "making the reference" and keep going...... I can only speak for myself, but that feels like a Biggus Diccus to me (Specially with this one, since the "peace" between humans and sentiens, that's a gold mine to explode, but it's wasted just as an anecdote)
@@paulieluppino1856 Okay, then we agree. Just wasn't sure where you landed on the fans in this case. I had honestly hoped that there were going down a strange path I had heard of.... (When in the 2nd movie, Neo, in the "Real World" is given a Spoon from one of the oracles gifted kids.... In the first movie, the kids was teaching Neo that you cannot bend the spoon, because there is NO SPOON. In the 2nd movie, it was fairly ambiguous as to it's meaning... I and a few others were taking it as a hint to "The real world" isn't "Real" either... just a surface layer *IN CASE* shit went sideways... like it did.).... But nope, as soon as I saw the 2nd trailer was pretty much nothing but: "Hey look at this, doesn't this look like and remind you of the first Movie, Oh and hey, don't forget this mindblowing scene... from the first movie... wasn't that cool, and oh yeah, look at this, doesn't this *ALSO* remind you of the first movie.. oooh oooh... and This... doesn't this look like and remind............... I knew then it was totally FUCT (Intentional misspelling)
Without nostalgia there can be no aspiration. If you can't remember better times, it means you've never had better times, which makes it harder to ever have a good time.
To have this Matrix actually be panned more than Scream 5.....that kind of bothered me a little bit. But I just never got it or watched it. Now that I have seen the bits of this for myself, it oddly makes sense to me perfectly. I will definitely have to find this movie and buy it.
It is funny to witness Smith turned into a hipster, and a CEO of a videogame company (Specially this year, that we get to see Bobby Kotick true colors)..... wait, funny isn't the word..... Cringe, that's the word.....
that's probably not really Smith, tho. the original Smith was an agent turned rogue, turned virus. As in, a product of the machine control. this one, is more a self-emerging condition within the new Matrix. almost like Neo (prime) was self-emerging from within the original Matrix due to the collective desire to *have* _a_ figure that then became Neo. this Smith here is kind of like that latent tendency of humanity to fuck itself up "for the lulz".... it's there, it can be kept in check, but it's bound to come up at the first unhandled exception.
I guess that WB was going to make a sequel regardless, so ONLY ONE of the creators of the matrix slapped together a sequel and here we are... This movie was so unnecessary!
I actually really hated this movie. Beyond the fact that the fight scenes weren’t nearly as cool and were filmed poorly in comparison to the original movie, the story is pretty boring and not very creative. The original movies story is doing a lot of the heavy lifting. And I don’t like how it and does a lot of the things from the original movies, like how neo is not “the one”, he is now technically “the one of two.” I did enjoy a lot of the meta-commentary on the fact that they forced Wachowski to make this movie essentially, and some of the concepts in and of themselves were pretty neat, just poorly executed. Neo doesn’t even shoot any guns and hardly does any actual fighting. He just uses “force push” million times. They had to severely downgrade him in order to upgrade Trinity. I think this is just another case of trying to ring the money out of a franchise that had already been done significantly better decades ago.
This movie should had been a triology. Because it had material enough for it, but with more developt. First movie it was Neo Awaking, Second movie Trinity Awaking and Last movie "One Together" awaking. Plus it would give space for developting other characters such Bugs (which i did enjoy her more, then Trinity in the original triology) Agent Smith and how did he escape the termination (honestly i think the actor should talk more like Hugh in the original) and his real motivations helping Neo and possible double cross. Plus, it would expand the theme of Machines helping the humans and why only certain machines help, and others doesnt, except that line "not every machine wants to control humans". Why only after Neo died in the 3rd, the Machines riot against each other and not before! But sadly it was all condensed in one movie.
I agree with you. But I think they were afraid nobody would like the first movie in the trilogy, and then they condensed it all in one. Probably they were afraid of being like the new Star Wars trilogy, which was a big hype, then a total failure.
@@leniac despite all the hate it rightfully gets, i seriously doubt the new star wars trilogy was a failure, at least no financially. anything with the star wars name will always make money, no matter how terrible it is. i haven't looked into how much money the disney trilogy made, but i'd imagine it made a lot more than we'd expect from all the hate it gets. many people will continue to watch anything star wars, no matter how shit it all is.
Starting to think that the story, filmmaking, editing, every detail of Resurrections was all by design. This movie has predictably brought out the ugliness that many Internet-courageous people love to spew. The Great Wachowski is laughing. Anyway, great reaction vid as usual, guys.
Considering Lana made this movie to deal with the grief of losing her parents and a best friend, I don't know what you are talking about. The Wachowski's said for near 20 years they wouldn't ever do another movie, and then Lana used her grief to bring back Neo and Trinity etc. I've said this in other reactions videos to this, but I think this was a rather ingenious way of bringing them back and making it current (well mostly current, some of the jokes are a few years old at this point lol)
@@paolom.6011 You can think it's bad that's fine. As with Matrix 2 and 3 at the time everyone felt they sucked or were garbage. Now people think they are at least good movies (or decent I suppose depending on what the definition is you use for good lol) So it goes that will be the same with Resurrections.
I hated this movie. After a week of thinking about it I’d say it’s the most disappointing movie I’ve ever seen. Not the worst, there are definitely worse films out there, but definitely the most disappointing. It’s made me reevaluate trailers, hype, and excitement that I’ll feel going into movies from now on. Yeah y'alls reaction was good but this movie wasn't ok action crappy story to me to bad they couldn't get Hugo Weaving & Lawrence Fishburne they should've just left the Matrix alone bruh.
**SPOILERS** DO NOT READ BELOW. I personally thought that the movie being directed by a woman, Lana Wachowski and Trinity becoming similar to The One with her powers was such a typical ‘girl power’ movement bullshit move that is so common in movies today. I’m all for equality and women doing amazing things but I personally think that it was shoved down our throats when nobody was asking for it. Trinity was already badass without being able to fly or be incredibly powerful like Neo. It legitimately makes no sense whilst also bringing nothing to the The Matrix story. Outside of this, I liked the movie as it can set a lot up for following ones and also enjoyed many of the new characters. Also, the wack, 5 FPS slow mo bullet time was garbage
imagine how cool this movie could have been if it was about life in the matrix after the first 3 movies where everyone in the matrix was aware of it. instead we got this...

@@reflectionist I'll give you the bowling pins. But all the other examples are nowhere near that cringe we are talking about. You could debate it as bad/lazy writting. But even horror movies need fun line or two to keep it going.
This is the greatest crossover of 2021 besides spiderman no way home
See, I liked this movie.
A lot of people didn't understand that all the "cheesy cringe" was on purpose.....ironically. they were making fun of those words like OMG.
And the entire movie is scenes from the original trilogy redone for the premise of the movie...being that the og movie(considered real life for Neo) was cut scenes from a game he made in real life(a matrix).
The "zombie" part was from part 2 and 3 with all of the agent Smiths. The motorcycle part was from part 3 when the sentinels were coming head on amd Neo force pushed them and they explode......EVERY SCENE IS A RETAKE ON A SCENE FROM THE OG TRILOGY 😆
The other movies explains that there have been hundreds of Neos before the one we see in the og trilogy. In the og trilogy Trinity had already chosen, but Noe didn't get his real powers until she admitted it to him.
already saw this reaction on Timothy's chanell but i love you guys so ill watch it once more
Water and pizza 😆😆😆
What more could a man ask for?
Seems like the sole wanter of this movie was WB.
The director, the audience, the fans, no one asked for this lol
“Why are they doing this?!” Exactly.🤦🏻♂️

While I think the film was entirely unnecessary, written like a teenager's fanfiction, and had far too many flashback cut-ins.. I enjoyed it for what it was. I don't think its ruined the legacy or anything. I just won't be queuing up to buy the Blu-ray in a couple of months.
😃 HAPPY NEW YEAR !
For the new year, let me to give you some ideas for "first watching movies" :
- "BEN HUR" (1959) The best movie of all times ! (11 Oscars)
- "SOYLENT GREEN" (1973) The action takes place in 2022 !
And also :
- "THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN" (1960) Steve McQueen !
- "THE SAND PEBBLES" (1966) Steve McQueen !
- "THE GETAWAY" (1972) Steve McQueen !
- "PAPILLON" (1973) Steve McQueen !
- "THE TOWERING INFERNO"(1974) Steve McQueen !
Yes, I know, lot of Steve McQueen. But I don't understand why nobody wants to watch a movie with him during the last year. HE'S THE KING OF COOL ! 😎
Trinity's husband Chad is chad stahelski director of all of the john wick movies and was the stunt coordinator for the matrix trilogy he also played an agent in them too
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I'm subscribed to all of you guys great reaction 👍
Wow, I didn't think you'd be in the same place
i really enjoyed it, and think it's better than the previous two movies
No.
At. 27:20, yall act like you NEVER saw that scene before lmao. why??

Nostalgia Critic put it best, this movie is good when it's not being a Matrix movie
Man of tai chi is a good Keanu reeves movie.
As someone who always believed that Trinity and Neo made up the One together, I loved the last hour-hour and a half of this film, once we knew what the true goal was. It just sucked that it took an hour-plus to get there. And not having the same cinematographer or fight choreographer definitely showed.
I vice versa liked first 1.5 hours more.

I Loved this collab
Fun movie, I liked most parts, not all parts. I really think they revealed too much in the trailers too :/
26:42 ....This moment exactly is the perfect metaphor about how audiences should behave towards movies fueled by nostalgia.....
Yeah yeah like you did that when you was watching Spider-man
@@paulieluppino1856 Okay, then we agree.
I mean, technically it was directed by the Wakowski "sisters". So anyone expecting this to live up to the original Matrix was fooling themselves.
Oh god there's three of them
😂
To have this Matrix actually be panned more than Scream 5.....that kind of bothered me a little bit. But I just never got it or watched it.
Now that I have seen the bits of this for myself, it oddly makes sense to me perfectly. I will definitely have to find this movie and buy it.
It blows
loved everything about this movie.
Betting you weren't around when the first one came out were you?
Compare to the trilogy it's story sucks. And i think those three is matrix and didn't need 4th movie
It is funny to witness Smith turned into a hipster, and a CEO of a videogame company (Specially this year, that we get to see Bobby Kotick true colors)..... wait, funny isn't the word..... Cringe, that's the word.....
Cringe is definitely it.
that's probably not really Smith, tho.
the original Smith was an agent turned rogue, turned virus.
React to the movie nobody
This is a parody, lol!
I guess that WB was going to make a sequel regardless, so ONLY ONE of the creators of the matrix slapped together a sequel and here we are... This movie was so unnecessary!

@@chadstchad yeah it's really odd how ppl are hating this movie without even watching it or trying to understand it. Seems like 60% of them are bots.
I actually really hated this movie. Beyond the fact that the fight scenes weren’t nearly as cool and were filmed poorly in comparison to the original movie, the story is pretty boring and not very creative. The original movies story is doing a lot of the heavy lifting. And I don’t like how it and does a lot of the things from the original movies, like how neo is not “the one”, he is now technically “the one of two.”
I did enjoy a lot of the meta-commentary on the fact that they forced Wachowski to make this movie essentially, and some of the concepts in and of themselves were pretty neat, just poorly executed. Neo doesn’t even shoot any guns and hardly does any actual fighting. He just uses “force push” million times. They had to severely downgrade him in order to upgrade Trinity. I think this is just another case of trying to ring the money out of a franchise that had already been done significantly better decades ago.
This movie was wack 😂😂😂
It was ok. The end credit scene was horrible tho. 🤦🏾♀
Lets make new Catrix (Animatrix)
@@dencheq Just horrible smh
Wtf are you talking about?
Considering Lana made this movie to deal with the grief of losing her parents and a best friend, I don't know what you are talking about. The Wachowski's said for near 20 years they wouldn't ever do another movie, and then Lana used her grief to bring back Neo and Trinity etc. I've said this in other reactions videos to this, but I think this was a rather ingenious way of bringing them back and making it current (well mostly current, some of the jokes are a few years old at this point lol)
So it was deliberately bad..
Lana is not a woman. Never was - never can be.
