I think The Matrix 2 has the best action in the trilogy. I think Matrix 3 has the best ending in the trilogy, and The Matrix 1 is the best overall film in the trilogy. All 3 films have great subtext and philosophy, though!! An amazing trilogy of films.
The Matrix 1 knocked my socks off when I first saw it. But over time, it has lost its appeal. It spends too much time explaining what I already know. (Necessarily.)
I hated the ending of the 3rd when I watched it as a high school senior in theater and I still haven’t seen it since…. Maybe I need to revisit, but I’m not sure I wanna get disappointed again
In computer terms, the agents are antivirus programs, and the leftovers (the Keymaker, the ghost twins, Seraph) are leftover programs from previous version of the Matrix (bloatware). Agent Smith, a former antivirus program, is a special kind of virus program because it had been reprogrammed to include part of Neo's code. Seraph, which is now the password/security firewall for the Oracle, is from the first iteration of the Matrix, the "Heaven" iteration (v.1.0), which Agent Smith was talking about when he had Morpheus chained up to a chair in the first movie. Seraph's challenging Neo to a fight was his way of seeing if Neo had the right password. The Merovingian's soldiers, such as the ghost twins and werewolves, are from the "Hell" iteration of the Matrix, which was likely Matrix v.2.0. Also, the actors who played the twins were not only twins IRL, but masters in kung fu, so they knew what they were doing. The fight choreography was a lot better because Keanu Reeves was in better shape. When the first movie was shot, Keanu had an injury that kept him from kicking or using his feet too much, so he focused on punches during his fight scenes back then.
I think you are correct. In addition, if anyone pays attention to the Architect, The Oracle is not the "Mother" of the internet, but rather it is Persephone, Queen of Hades and "bringer of death". As The Architect explained, people rejected the Matrix en mass untill they were given the illusion of choice. In other words, they wanted a "delete" function (a function wich doesn't actually delete anything, but instead, deceptively moves deletions to the trash bin, or Persephone's Hades). This is why Persephone's husband, the Merovingion (a French royal family that began reuniting the 2 French dynasties and he is likely representing the program "language" (get it!?) called Java which temporarily united PCs and Apple via machine language which is used by the computer's kernel, which inturn is represented by the subway and the Train Conductor in Matrix Revolution's opening scene... but back to the point...) this is why the Merovingian was able to collect the various bloatware you referred too, as the Merovingion's wife Persephone, the delete function, never fully deleted them but rather deceptively kept them in the trash bin called Hades. Atleast she never did delete them until she did delete one, with the silver bullet. The Key Master was likely a brute force password making hacker program. Hope you enjoyed my additions for you.
I wanted to say is that The Agents are the anti virus software, and is the good guys. Neo , morpheus trinity and the rest of the hackers are the bad guys. Point blank. Most people doesnt see it that way.
I agree 100% that Neo and co. are the bad guys. Cipher was doing everyone a favor. Imagine playing with your kids and new puppy in your backyard. BBQ grill is cooking your favorite food, birds are singing on a gorgeous day... when all of a sudden some robot is flushing you into a dreary, colorless, pointless world as someone else, you've never met, is standing over you saying "Welcome to the REAL world. You're welcome."
When neo jumped into agent Smith in the first movie, it rewrote his code with part of neo's code. Which gave agent Smith the ability to copy himself (code).
That’s the best and simplest explanation I’ve seen. A bunch of us in school were sitting around in 2003 trying to figure out how that happened. We came up with pretty good theories, but couldn’t put it in words. 👍

I personally wouldn't. What if they had sent poisoned stuff? You get some truly sick people unfortunately out there. I wouldn't just accept foods from people I don't know, especially sent over the mail.
All the way through the movie when I first watched it, I was like, "How can the Machines *NOT* know where Zion is? It's huge" then you meet the Architect and you're like, "Yeah, figures..."
The way the Oracle describes choice and fate makes perfect sense to me and it's definitely the model I personally consider most accurate. Though I have an easier to understand explanation then I think she gives lol.
As others have mentioned definitely check out The Animatrix as they fill in quite a bit of backstory on both the history of the matrix and also on some of the characters in this movie and the next. Shame you didn't see it first but still worth a watch. Back when this came out they tried one of if not the first multi platform storylines which consisted of the movies, the animatrix and the video game each giving you part of the overall story.
Interesting background info: the scene where Morpheus takes out the car with the ghosts, he actually hyperextended one of his elbows and had to go to the hospital for it
My main issue I had with this film that sometimes you could clearly see the CGI models they used instead of real people, plus the fight scenes didn't really have an outcome most of the time. They just fought without anyone getting defeated/killed. Dragged on a bit after a while.

There were no anomalies in the program though. The anomalies the Architect is referring to are the HUMANS. The programs are there for human control, not for equilibrium. The agents are only for security and order. The Architect designed the perfect green world, it was humans who in some percent didn't accept it. To deal with this percentage of humans the Matrix created the Oracle, a phycologist AI to study human behavior. It is highly possible the Oracle is the creator of werewolves, angels, and ultimately Zion. Where the Oracle failed then the Matrix created Neo, an AI grown as it were a human being.
Actually, Oracle had the same actress (Gloria Foster) in Reloaded as in the original Matrix. Foster died after Reloaded, so she was replaced by Mary Alice in Revolutions.

After Matrix Revolutions, watch the Animatrix and then Equilibrium, who came a year or two later. It has nothing to do with the Matrix saga, but it is the same genre of movie, with Christian bale and Sean bean.
Blade & The Matrix were my favourite films for most of my life, but recently I've come to appreciate the second films of both so much more. Although the originals are still exceptional, Blade 2 & Reloaded are basically bigger & better than what came before, expanding & deepening the worlds. They're not just films, they're works of art.

Love your guys reactions to this trilogy so far, the Neo vs Smith fight is one the best in cinema history. Also little movie fact: the asian fighter dressed in white that works for the Merovingian is the movie's fighting choreographer.
Fun fact, the actor playing the Merovingian is a french actor notabilly known for having an almost perfect english He had a coach on set to "de-learn" and speak with a more marked french accent But for the swearing lines, he had only "carte blanche" writed on the script As he said in an interview "we you drive on motrocycle in Paris for 15 years, it comes naturally"
"There are 2 doors. The door to your right leads to the source and the salvation of Zion. The door to your left leads back to the Matrix to her and to THE END OF YOUR SPECIES." This was the craziest surrender or die quote I've ever heard Lol
Who's better with a katana?? Morpheus or The Bride? Also, did u know the person who originally played Niobe was Aaliyah? I believe they were at least quarter of the way in filming the 2 movie when Aaliyah died and they had to recast and refilm with Jada Pinkett-Smith.
The stunt dubble for Keanu Chad Stahelski is the director for the John Wick movies that he does with Keanu and also with David Leitch that also worked on the Matrix.
Freeway scene: Located on Alameda Island, in California, USA, the freeway was exactly realistic. It was the first freeway built by a Hollywood studio. At a cost of $2.5m (£1.25m), the freeway was 1.25 mile (2 km) long and was fenced with a 19ft wall, made from timber and plywood, designed to look like concrete.
And Carrie Anne Moss learned to drive a bike for this very scene Yes, she learned on a freaking Ducati 996 The Wachowski kept the main bike and it's usually in their production office... when Keanu Reeves don't take it for la little ride

This was Matrix reloaded of the original trilogy had the most incredible filmed action scenes and the ending - but I did not see the 3rd movie until years later and was not really impressed but it was good bc of the script. // would love to see ya'll reaction to some of my siblings and I all time favs from the early 2000s such as: 1) Excess Baggage [Beninco Del Toro and Alicia Silverstone] 2) Traffic [also Benicio Del Toro, Don Cheadle, Michael Douglas, Dennis Quaid, Topher Grace, and a young female star Erika Christensen] 3) Mr. Deeds [Adam Sandler and Wiona Ryder and hilarious actor John Turturro]
EVERYTHING is turned up a notch in this one!
It's good to see the sequel movies getting love these days. Those movies were torn to shreds back in the day
I hope you guys are going to also see Dune when it comes out in Oct. Gonna be EPIC!!!
100%
chris: "they love morpheous"
kurtis: "can you blame them? look at him!"
LOL
Oh man, too bad you didn't watch *_The Animatrix_* in-between the 1st and 2nd *_The Matrix_* movies...
That would've been so cool, and I'm sure you guys would have loved it. xD
Nobody does it's sad
@@citizensunitednegatingtech9783 sad actually, those animations add soo much to the saga's lore
So true
Those two on how the machines took over are amazing...
Or The Second Renaissance - Animatrix.
Oh my god. I have watched countless people react to these movies and I’ve never seen any of them pick up on Agent Smith being a virus so fast. That’s usually such a frustrating thing bc if you don’t get that, the rest of the movies don’t make much sense. Y’all earned my sub with that.
I love how much your channel is growing and how passionate you and your brother are, I can tell you guys really love what you are doing, I hope to see more reactions in the future, I LOVE the matrix trilogy, the third movie is my most watched of the three lol
Finally someone liked the second one like me… i really felt the fighting went up a notch🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Love your guys reactions to this trilogy so far, the Neo vs Smith fight is one the best in cinema history. Also little movie fact: the asian fighter dressed in white that works for the Merovingian is the movie's fighting choreographer.
I wasn't into either of the Matrix sequels, but I'll watch your reactions to movies I didn't like just because your reactions are THAT ENTERTAINING.
Fun fact, the actor playing the Merovingian is a french actor notabilly known for having an almost perfect english
He had a coach on set to "de-learn" and speak with a more marked french accent
But for the swearing lines, he had only "carte blanche" writed on the script
As he said in an interview "we you drive on motrocycle in Paris for 15 years, it comes naturally"
"Which one of us can fly?"
I just love it. 😂
"F*ck robots! Not literally." Couldn't stop laughing!
21:45. Man...... i remember the audience was cheering when that scene came
"There are 2 doors. The door to your right leads to the source and the salvation of Zion. The door to your left leads back to the Matrix to her and to THE END OF YOUR SPECIES."
This was the craziest surrender or die quote I've ever heard Lol
just a funny thing about the fight scene with multiple agent smith... there's one part where they played a bowling ball sound effect
Only these two chuckleheads would refuse to use a thumb drive, but immediately began eating food that showed up from a stranger! XD
I think you two are the first reactors who I've watched that actually understood who that guy asleep on the table next to neo is.
Why would you fight a guy who can stop bullets???
- This moment has been brought to you by Curtis
“What’s this f*cking round thing?!” 😆😆
Who's better with a katana?? Morpheus or The Bride?
Also, did u know the person who originally played Niobe was Aaliyah? I believe they were at least quarter of the way in filming the 2 movie when Aaliyah died and they had to recast and refilm with Jada Pinkett-Smith.
I’m listening to this while walking
21:00 So fun watching you guys see this for the first time. Neo in Matrix Reloaded is like the most OP thing ever right? Like DUDE.
The stunt dubble for Keanu Chad Stahelski is the director for the John Wick movies that he does with Keanu and also with David Leitch that also worked on the Matrix.
"nice trident, ya loser"
°sad aquaman sounds in the distance°
Yes, there's a 4th film, Matrix: Resurrection releasing 12/22/21 in theaters & HBOMax. That's why it's also releasing on HBOMax. No need to delay now.
One day I will find someone with that last name Anderson just so I can say the Mr.Anderson line
I can't imagine how annoying it must have been for people with their last names Anderson when this movie first came out haha
@@OctoKrool Lol exactly just imagine if they actually have to listen to someone repeat everyone of agent smith's lines from the movie.
You guys will go far on TH-cam. I could see your channel getting really big. Great reaction as always
I guarantee u guys would love “Strange Days” from 1995! 💯🔥🤙🏽😎
MATRIX 3 IS GOING TO BLOW UR MINDS!!!!
I dig the flow you two have with each other as brothers. Wish I had that with mine. And yes, more John Carpenter please.
Freeway scene:
Located on Alameda Island, in California, USA, the freeway was exactly realistic. It was the first freeway built by a Hollywood studio. At a cost of $2.5m (£1.25m), the freeway was 1.25 mile (2 km) long and was fenced with a 19ft wall, made from timber and plywood, designed to look like concrete.
And Carrie Anne Moss learned to drive a bike for this very scene
Yes, she learned on a freaking Ducati 996
The Wachowski kept the main bike and it's usually in their production office... when Keanu Reeves don't take it for la little ride
