Presently sonu jii is not signing much Bollywood songs because now he reached a level where he don't need to prove anything so now he only sings if he really like the song and sonu ji is focusing more on direct contact with the audience through his housefull concerts whereas arijit is new singer and singing almost every Bollywood song but the interesting thing is that still in the time where arijit sings for most Bollywood movies sonu nigam sir get almost equal vote. That's superb.
Composers and Music companies have always promoted some singer against sonu from 2005 when he was merely 30.Now its Arijit.Singers will come and go Sonu will stay as a completion for them without singing a single song.

There is no comparison. Sonu nigam sings both western classical, eastern classical. He follows both rafi and kishore. I am a Bengali but I am telling the truth. All know that for some superhit songs arijit has become the star. It is doubtless. Arijit is trained classical singer but he has left it. He had got a scholarship from Govt. Of west Bengal for training in classical song. He is very good. He has feeling. But sonu nigam is so much much versatile that it is a foolish comparison. Sonu nigam has got international award. He sings rafi, kishore, manna dey's tough songs. What what what what a charmful artist!!! How feeling of joy, pain, emotion in his voice. But it is India
In India true talent will never get real worth. Sonu nigam is gem of India in nowadays. For only ' tumi hi ho' arijit has got 10 awards. This is the reality.
I think nobody is against my opinion.
You can compare other Bengali singers with Sonu Nigam sir such as Manna Dey Sahab,Hemant Mukherjee,Shreya Ghosal,Shaan sir not with Arijit Singh. Arijit Singh is no doubt good but overrated singer.

Sonu Nigam is a great singer. He sings all difficult songs so easily like classical, semi classical or pop, gazal, bajhan etc. No other singer can does that so effortlessly like Sonu. Sonu is a total package of music. No doubt.
