Dear, your spirit is awesome....don't lose it. I met Kansas in Calgary and told them of their awesome potential....especial if they stayed together. I told them of my favorite chord progression. They handed me a guitar. I closed my eyes for a moment, and played it. They said they would write a song based on it. A few months later I heard it on the radio and had to pull over to the shoulder and wept for 15mins. Thanks guys. You have that potential... as long as you don't put white dust in your windpipes which can hamper the spirit. 💕❤️🤗😇

Lauren, thanks for the terrific tutorial. I have been struggling with learning the Travis picking, but being able to practice on a song I have known since in debuted in 77 make it so much easier! I am a pastor of a tiny church, which means I have had to pull out my guitar, which I had hardly touched in 25 years, and was never really good at at any time. I would love to get past just strumming chords! This is very helpful!

Slow and steady learning your Travis plucking. The brain and finger get mass up to concentrate plucking on the strings. Have to get use to the rhythm and sequence . Thanks Lauren for so co-operative .
Go slow. Gives the brain more time to process what you are doing and learning.
As I said in your easy version lesson...you're right. It takes time. The Travis picking is not that hard but being fluent is another story. I still work on it.

Wow-wee. A few days ago I got the Travis picking down, now today I can do the intro for dust in the wind. Thank you so much. I remember looking at the tab for dust in the wind a LONG time ago and thinking " ain't no way" you could just imagine the tab for it? It's a nightmare.

Been struggling with this for weeks but now can play but only at 85bpm and that chord change from Asus2 to Cadd9 halfway through, is still problematic for me but I was so pleased to find your lesson and watch how you fingered that Cadd9 after Asus2

Just one question though, shouldn't it be Dm7 instead of Dm in the verse?
It's possible it could be Dm7 but I always played it as Dm.
Great lesson,as always, curious why you don't grow your nails on your right hand for finger picking?
I personally do not like the feel of it. I actually don't even like the feel of nails in general. Why my fingernails are always kept very short.
Great Lesson Lauren. But to play D/F# in the chorus, I can not use my thumb(too short). But I can use my indexfinger on the 6th string, my middle finger on the 3th string and my ringfinger on the 2th string. As it is a 5 or 6-string chord, Travispicking is not using the 1th string, so this works too I guess ?

That is also in The Last in Line (Dio) somewhere.
Every time I practice it, Dio comes to mind.
Like... when I learned that 4 Non Blonds song I kept hearing something I knew and it finally hit me that it was a few chords from that Yardbirds song.
I wish I didn't have tinnitus and could pick out stuff when there are other instruments playing.
