The song they did immediately after this one, Alfadhirhaiti, is an absolute banger. Also the stringed instrument played with the bow is a Ravanahatha. It makes a sort of droning sound

They're all pretty interconnected, as the Germanic peoples spread rather far and wide. Some settled in Scandanavia and became the Norse, there was of course the Angles, Saxons, Jutes and Frisians settled in Britain, and the various Goths, Franks, Vandals and others who spread into the Roman Empire. A surviving legacy of that culture is found in the English names for the days of the week, all named after Germanic gods.

Go see the ritual in Baltimore!!! It's life changing! The main part of the song is reciting the names of the 24 Futhark runes: Fehu, Uruz, Thurizaz, Ansuz, Raido, Kennaz... (F, U, Th, A, R, K). The string "flute-like" instrument is a ravanahatha (an ancient instrument used in India, Sri Lanka and surrounding areas, originating from Hela People, then brought to North India by Hanuman, then to India).

In Maidjan is still one of my favorites from Heilung, second only to Anoana. I love the ones that heavily feature Maria's vocals. She's a powerhouse and I think In Maidjan showcases that, her vocal flexibility. She was doing all sorts of vocal gymnastics in that short solo... the banshee scream, the parts where she almost goes polyphonic, and her incredible range. Othan is another great one of theirs I would recommend. (also from Lifa concert.) It's another Maria-dominate song. And Anoana if you haven't already.

Maria's voice, I.M.H.O. is the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.
Though I don't know the language of most of their rituals, the emotion of said rituals will make the shamans message perfectly clear....Peace and healing of mind and spirit.
They have stated that they don't have fans, They have brothers and sisters in companionship. My hope is anyone who listens to Heilung and others find peace and healing of their spirit and mind.....

I heard that Kai Uwe Faust and Christopher Juul were working on this new project (that would become Heilung) and Maria came in. They asked her to do a few vocals for a song, telling her to just do whatever she want. She threw a bunch of vocal gymnastics and tricks at them figuring they would chop it up and sample it. They loved it so much that they kept everything exactly as she sang it and that's why her "vocal solo" in this song is so technically impressive.

This song is actually connecting to Odin’s FuthArk Rune stones as they are naming off all 25 runes Runes from Fehu - Othala each stone represents something very powerful in rune stones readings similar to Tarot readings as the spreads for the stones are similar as well. Fehu: Wealth and Prosperity, Tiwaz: Justice and Honor, Ansuz: Wisdom and Communication, Gebo: Partnership and Balance.

You should book your concert tickets as fastas you can, because I think that concert might be an experience many religious search for at church/temple. Only this will bring you back to your genetic roots, no matter ethnicity. Ancient music was very much the same all over the world: the drums beating the same rythm, the chanting followed the beat of the drums, the vocals without words that sung more of the soul, emotions and situations than certain topics.
If you go, I'll be envious of you. Yet, I'll be happy you got to experience it. ❤
