In my mind he is the greatest musician ever. His voice and song and exquisite skill to create melodies and stories are unparalleled. He is my life’s musician. I bow down.
damien - you have reached the most incredible heights of music. You've created a sound i have never heard before. Listening to this song for the first time in the car one rainy night i thought i might explode with joy. Thank you for staying true to yourself. You've given me a light to find my way in the dark.
This music video is the perfect blend of abstraction. One of the rare cases a song and video truly compliment each other. The team behind it must be really sharp!
Still amazing, still listening in 2020... Such amazing music Damien Jurado makes. This was first I heard of him when programming a radio station back in 2014, and I've been a fan ever since.
this guy is just unreal... I once tried to rank his albums and I couldn't even pick a number one and gave up. they are all mad good. this one already is sounding like a winner.
Filmed primarily in Smith Rock State Park in Central Oregon State, with other sites nearby. All scenes with large tan colored rock are filmed in the park.
The vocals are as atmospheric as anything I've ever heard (including the ultra tasteful back-up tracks he layers on here), including such lyrics as "Climbing into the eye, where the numbers begin..."), and then he ties that lyric back into the original tale in the last verse with another epic, optic, vision-based line referenced by singing "Spots on the iris's bleed where the numbers are born..." Even if the psychedelia is too much for you, the lyrics at a minimum catch your ear & make u think.
I overheard this and was thinking to myself, "Dang, where has this Steve Miller tune been all my life?!?!" Seriously, this is spot on psychedelic 60's Steve Miller Band.
Heard "Beacon Hill" on Shameless. Great song! I hope having it featured on Shameless brings you the exposure you deserve. Diggin' Silver Timothy as well. Can't wait to check out the rest of your stuff...
this song came on the radio and I had to pull over to find out who it was, the last time that happened was in the 90's when 'come as you are' first hit the radio waves...
Got here from Outer Banks and never leaving. What a song.

I don't know if I'd call us "sharp" but we certainly had fun.

The sound of spiritual awakening through a man named Damien Jurado and his friend Richard Swift. Sounds like someone turned the light on.

Damien Jurado puts on a wicked live show. Deep stuff.
This song has been playing in my head all day.Couldnt wait to see Damien and hear it on you tube when I got home from work.
Brilliant! Got great memories to this song.
Great 60's feel.like how the drum beat drops in with the acid sound 1/4 thru, changes it for the good.
Floats through the ether quite splendidly, doesn't it?
This piece is just beautiful ... its music is deep.
Brano musicale in stile psichedelico con batteria in battere e levare...basso in continuo movimento ...coro in crescendo...ottima musicalità. Italy
