I test rode a 1250GS yesterday. I've been on sportsbikes for over 30 years and used to race Supersport so very much a fan of peaky, screaming inline 4... head down arse up. I was floored by my test ride. My Triple Black 1250GSA is on order and will be here in January... what a fantastic bike!
I love your accent. I've ridden Harleys for 47 years and bought a 2017 GSA last fall. I have been having a blast riding it. Be safe young lady and keep making videos. It's nice to hear a lady's point of view on riding. Cheers.
@@R-K61 oh my jesus christ... I have just clicked what you mean... my god do I feel like a dumbass 😂😂😂 i thought it was a genuine fault 😭😭 BLESS MY SOUL
I have an ‘11 rt across the pond and I purposely haven’t ridden the 1250 gs. I know I’ll have to have one. The bastards know they have you once you throw a leg over that gs! Congrats on the new ride!
We also have a R1250GS set up for low suspension/seat height, and it's just what I need for getting both foots on the ground flat. My wife set this requirement so we can safely tour, as our taller RT bike was sometimes too much to keep upright at stops with irregular ground. I have generally gotten through life with a motto of: "If you can't do one thing well, do many things poorly". But this GS does many things very very well indeed. I also immediately fell for this bike on the first test ride; enough so to be happy to shell out the US bucks to buy it. Thanks for the video, Bob
Kate, brilliant! First time I have watched your channel, I was crying with laughter with some of your comments. The mighty GS / GSA, I love mine. The best bike I have ridden, I took a V4 Streetfighter out this week, it was nice, but give me my GSA any day. Have a look at BMW Off Road Skills, It’s fun.
Thanks, Kate - enjoyed the vid and your commentary. Hired a 1200GS round Andalucia pre-lockdown (grief - 16 months ago) and liked it...above 5mph. Fully laden for touring, I really hadn't mastered the low-speed weight even by the end of the week, having ridden sportsbikes for 30 years. But, delivering back to the hire co (Hispania Tours, Malaga, recommended) shorn of circa 15kg clothing, etc, it became a new bike around town. Will def look at when coming to buy my next bike (and maybe the Multistrada too...).
Thanks! great genuine funny witty review about what the bike is and how it makes you feel. I just can't watch another one of these professional vlogger reviews drowning you in tech specs and shift cam this shift cam that! eurk! Thanks Kate!
Greetings from Oklahoma, USA, Kate! A few days ago, I went to my local dealer to test ride a beautiful ‘18 R1200RT Option 719 and was surprised at how well the bike handled, but was not overly impressed with the engine. I then rode a new R1250 GS Rallye and was blown away by the Shift Cam engine and with how nimble the bike handled! I was hooked! I signed papers on a new GSA Trophy Saturday and take delivery on Tuesday! I love your accent, commentary and the beautiful scenery! Keep up the great work and be safe! I look forward to watching your reviews! ❤😎
It seems to be a regular thing with me that I "accidently" come across a video or someone not seen before.... so have now enjoyed watching the BMW R1250 GS Ralleye short trip out and very enjoyable.. despite being a softy southerner, I have no problem with your northern accent at all and like all good motorcyclists, you make the commentary informative and interesting, so thank you......
Totally agree, top bike on my 4th, r80gs 2x1200 gs, and 1xr1200gs Lc. Nice to see Rivvy again, Teapotone has a lot to answer for.Having thoughts about a r1250 a! Take care young lady, keep it shiny side up!
Have always enjoyed the motorcycle content in your vlogs but what really shines through in all of them is that bright shining personality, keep up the great work
I understand your ease with the GS. I would never have thought I would like sitting so high up on what looks like a top heavy ugly thing. A friend insisted I try his (as he was a little drunk). Immediately I put my feet on the pegs, the feeling of being high up, the feeling of weight and clumsiness all disappeared. It's so easy to ride. My theory is that it is all so balanced (engine power vs gears vs brakes vs handling) that you don't need to use any advanced riding skills to ride it well. The only hassle is finding the ground when you stop - especially on rough ground. Nice video anyway. Close on half an hour felt like 10 minutes. Cheers!
Mine should be arriving in a week or two, although I went with the gs a with some trinkets to it. It's amazing to me how light and balanced this bike feels, plus the superb suspension, handling and brakes. Absolute peach to ride
Rode a 2018 1200GS in Italy after riding K's for the last 25 years. Wasn't sure I'd like it but was a solid convert by the end of the trip. Very comfortable ride. It did everything I wanted it to do. Enjoyed your review, thanks for the tip on the mount, I've been looking for one.
Fantastic review Kate, it’s really interesting how you got such a big bike to fit, should stop people being put off who have shorter legs. The bike is an absolute beast, love it, shift cam, QS and blipper all sound awesome ...... power delivery sounds sublime, would love one, fantastic bike, a bit different to the arse up in the air sports bikes - stay safe
Hi Kate. Just bought 1250 GS Adventure. Its my first ever BMW and My other half Kate and I love it. Was planning trip to Spain in 2 weeks but postponed that. Like you word just don't describe how great this bike is. Great blog. Thanks
I love mine, did 250 miles around the lakes last week, the weight is only really noticeable when lugging it in and out of the garage, once moving the low c of g makes it very confidence inspiring. You ride well Kate, love your patter, glad you enjoyed the bike 👍
New sub here! Wow! I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m new to riding and TH-cam and just put up a video about why I bought the GS 1200. All the things you touched on. You’re such a great rider. I have a long way to go.
Great camera angle I felt like I was riding. Damn England is beautiful, we are so lucky! I'm gonna get on my bike and shred some green lanes now! Love from Kent!
Hi Kate loved the video, like you said I tested 2020 GSA TE in March & was blown away hoe good it was and bought one after lockdown was lifted & the dealers reopened it was delivered 2 weeks ago & its fantastic, great video & commentary 😎
Literally ordered a R1250GSA Rallye TE about a week ago 😁 And if anyone thinks they’re boring.. I’m trading a 2019 S1000RR M Sport, and I didn’t find the demo boring in the slightest 👍🏻
I’m a huge sports bikes fan and rode nothing but, for well over 30yrs. I did some club racing in my time and later became a track day instructor. As the roads have now changed, the only place where sports can be used properly (and I mean, used) is a track. Sports bikes are still in my blood, but because of the riding culture change, also too many crap roads surfaces, cameras, heavy traffic, and a massive deterioration in people’s general driving abilities, it culminated in me trying motorcycling from a whole different angle and ended up with a new 1200 GSA LC. I’m now on my 2nd. I’m glad I didn’t go the sports tourer route, as I think it would have frustrated myself trying to make it do what my S1000RR was able to do. With the GSA I ride differently - there’s also the bonus of getting to see the scenery, and being able to carry luggage. Very novel! Now, about this riding differently bit... I need to let others know, who maybe considering a GS or GSA, that, if you want to go quick, you can do. They are extremely capable bikes and I’ve even used mine to give track day instruction, which has caused surprise to quite a few sports bike riders - especially when you go around the outside of them! Don’t get me wrong, a well ridden sports bike will always be quicker than a well ridden GS/GSA on a track, but there won’t be much in it on the roads. I might swap my current bike for the 1250 version? If money was no object I’d have another S1000RR for track days and maybe a handful of other interesting bikes to play on, but if you have to choose just one bike to do it all, you won’t go far wrong with a GS or GSA. 👍
Get every thing you say about sports bikes, roads etc. Had sports bikes since early 90s. As you say best for track days. Almeria with Focused Events spot on. Roads👎👎
Well done. There's a reason the GS is so popular. As mentioned, it does so many things so well it's genuinely earned the reputation of being the Swiss Army knife of motorcycles. Great vlog, keep up the great work.
I think you'd be surprised by the RT as well. I had a first gen RT-P and it's the one bike I miss. Only thing going against the GS for me is that for a similar price on the RT you get heated seats, panniers and electric screen. On a F8ST since February and it feels like an overpowered 125 in that its so light and nimble. Definitely something special about the BMW touring range I'm going to have to remember "my mind is like the middle aisle of Aldi" lol
Haven't ridden around Rivington in twenty years but recognised it instantly. Now ride an identical R 1250GS HP down here in NZ. Love everything about it except the rattle from the left cylinder. Hopefully BMW will admit there's a problem and get it sorted. Enjoyed the video. Thanks.
Great 1st impressions Kate... I have a GSA and before I had it never thought I'd like the `dad` style of bike but they just do everything so well! Great fun, comfy go anywhere. Keep looking at getting another bike but honestly there's nothing else out there that just does everything.
The first time I rode a GS I was gob smacked. I always hated them and didn’t want to like them due to everyone always harping on about how’s they are the greatest thing ever!!!!! Not a chance, or so I thought. How wrong I was , they are even better than you could imagine. They can be thrown around like a 125cc, so flickable . You gotta experience it to believe it!!! They just do everything really well. Good video, keep it up👍🏼
If you want a to lower the seat a bit more, use the lowering kit off fleabay. It’s two bungs with offset holes. Have it on my GS and gives you an extra 10mm for those of us vertically challenged 👍🏻
Great to have a keen motorcyclist who just happens to be a lady, talking about good regular, interesting stuff. I saw your post lockdown trackday and in that I thought you were quite tall - 5.8 or so, must've been the camera angle !
I can think of some video content, English accent breaks my heart, just love it. You are a great rider, don't cut yourself short, you're full of talent.
Kate I was just laughing and agreeing with you all the way through as Ive just test rode the GSA1250 2 weeks ago at Long Eaton and feeling like you before riding it, too big and stupid engine poking out, but then I rode it... A-mazing! You just described how I was feeling - anyone looking at a new bike should just test ride it and have your preconceptions blown away! Might have to come test ride one round your neck of the woods - forgot how nice it is on outskirts of Manchester! Thanks for sharing - just subscribed! :)
Hi Kate. Im a stumpy legs version rider of an F650GS in Queensland Oz. I'm from Little Hulton for my sins. Totally love Rivi and had to watch your vid. Thank you for bringing memories. (its only been 4 years lol but QLD is an amazing bikey place in itself for views etc). Thank you :-)
@@UsernameKate Dear Username Kate, Would you like to be my friend on you tube, as I have built up a collection of motorbikes, as a further study of electronics, though I confess to being one of the believed, and also call myself, "the enemy" being an ex car driver, and have been making friends with a few other biker you tube video makers. I want you to know, I have always definitely thought bike. As you say you nicked that BMW GS, because you work for a BMW firm, are you a Hell's Angel?
I really admire your aggressive type of riding a steed like a BMW GS! A girl that's well trained on a motorcycle is alert, vigilant, quick responding to lots of situations, and Fearless !! You are only 5'4" , beautiful blonde hair, and a treat to watch your riding skills on these videos! Cat lover is a plus too! Kate, You're a pretty special woman! Thank you for sharing your story and love for this fine machine! I dare you to try out the new R/18. It should hit your market soon if it hasn't already. Ask your dealer if hes willing to let you give it a review!!
I’ve never seen a lady on a GS before, from the start of the video you looked taller , I have the same bike but the adventure model I just like it’s presence more than the standard bike plus I am a big lad and fairly tall at 6’5” but who knows I’m the future I may try the standard version, this is my second GS the last bike being a 17 reg Triple black GSA which I absolutely loved but my new Ralley HP 1250 is even better
Interesting video, good to see a smaller rider getting on with one. I used to have one, but found it too heavy moving it around, height wasn't an issue. Dropped it 3 times, and struggled to pick it up on my own.
I get you! When I worked in the dealership - i had to push the K1600 and RTs around so I got used to being okay with the GS moving wise. Always helps though if I cant be bothered... i just show... MIIKEEE haha
5ft 4, you look much taller than that, especially on your GSX. Love your commentary and your accent (from a kiwi) looking forward to more vids like this. Well done
I bought a GS TE Exclusive from Williams Manchester just over a month ago. I love it! I’m vertically challenged (and old!) and got the lowered seat as well. At 5 ft 8 I’m ok on auto suspension, though I do notice that it gets higher with a pillion and I’m then not quite flat footed. I’m so impressed by the way you ride it and wheel it around your drive. You make it look so light. Great skills:)
So does the seat height increase when you put it in dynamic mode? I'm the same height as you and so confused about all the options; Low seat, low chassis etc. Plus I like the rallye version which I think is slightly taller?
@@GJS-live hey Gary, the suspension has 2 main settings dynamic and road. These don't alter the height. Road is softer for a more comfortable ride and dynamic tightens everything up and is firmer for a sportier ride. Then you have 3 further settings which affect height. Min (lowest possible suspension setting) Max (tallest possible setting) and auto where it detects the weight of the rider or rider pilly or rider pilly and luggage and puts the suspension where it needs to be to be in the optimum setting. He means when his bike detects it has a pillion, it will go higher so as to accommodate the extra weight and not bottom out. I have some figures for you which I will get over to you first thing 👍
@@GJS-live as Kate says, suspension height doesn’t change with dynamic and road. In Auto it varies the height depending on the weight on it. I’ve found that sometimes in Auto it is slightly higher with a pillion than without. Still very manageable though. I have lowered suspension and seat, which gives a seat height of about 800 mm. You can also select suspension to MIN in the suspension modes. It is the very low! Feels like a cruiser then. Kate used that in her review. It does make the suspension firmer. Maybe utilise that when riding round town and stopping and starting a lot? I have a 30 inch inside leg (at least that’s the trousers I wear!) and have no problems.
I once visited Arizona, initially asked 50% of the time to repeat myself. So started to speak more slowly. I can understand her even though Kate lives on the wrong side of the pennines
I’m 5’4” and short legged too (26”). I went from a TZR250 to an R1100RT when I found that I could ride one. Had the seat chopped down a bit though. My current bike is an R1200RT which I’ve had for a few years. Tried a lowered GSA a while back but with the setup and the larger front wheel, it handled horribly for me. Tried a standard GS after that but I don’t think adventure bikes suit me. I like the quiet of having the larger screen of the RT. Great vid, Kate. Not been around those roads for ages.
That’s precisely why BMW offers other bikes , other models. The GS is a fabulous bike but they make a lot of other nice machines. Why don’t you try the RS it’s a reliable alternative to the RT, you own. By the way, the 1200 RT is a very nice bike too!
Firstly, love the channel. Subscriber gained. Secondly, I was as surprised as you about how nimble a bike this heavy is once it's rolling, just insanely well balanced. I bought the 1250 GSA about 3 months ago for those long trips, now i commute with it daily, it's that friendly.
Hi Kate you’re sounding like you’re old man with his love of the GS. Dads know best.......sometimes! Great review and I can name every road you went down. You missed the turning for the barn though 😂 thanks for talking me into the GSA 1250 it’s come such a long waaaaaay from the liveried r80 RT’s I rode with Mr. R ( say hi to the old fella for me ) keep the blogs coming and let me know about your camera mic set up particularly the helmet mounting clamp. Was thinking of buying a cheap adventure helmet just to mount the camera on but may be a plan B. Did you edit the speedo post production to protect the innocent 😇 Greggy B.
HI GREG!!!! Hope you are still loving your GSA 😊 I said Hi to the old man for you and he returns the well wishes!!! Glad you likes the review, now I can actually understand why they are so well loved!! 😊
Username Kate yep can be a revelation they are no longer the old “side to side rocking” twins they used to be that weaved and wobbled tank slapping along the road 😄
Rode a 2010 GSA for 6 years......8th bike after 39 years riding...epic bike once you ride it for what it is built for..Alaska to Mexico in just over 4 days...gutted the suspension for full on Ohlins shocks...magic.I am 6'1"...ex road racer and mountain biker...really miss that bike.
Awesome vlog Kate great intro to the GS to the shorties of the biking community, love the Aldi, mordore, and cycling petitions qoutes and few squeals keep it up
I thought about it. But, the GSA just has so much more room for rider/pillion & luggage. For the type of riding I mostly do (Euro touring/UK touring) the extra space and fuel capacity of the GSA made more sense. Still like the RS though.
Hi Kate. Great review. Bought my 1st 1200 GSA 1 1/2 years ago. What do I like about it? Everything. What do I not like? Nothing I don't like. It does everything, an awesome bike. I have only had Harley-Davidson motorcycles before this GSA, thought I knew what riding was like, but this GSA opened up a whole new world. It was reviews like yours that armed me with good information to help decide which BMW bike to buy so I am grateful for good reviews like yours. Like the accent and scenery.
Kate, love your video!!! Hello from the US! I'm not a GS rider, I bought a R1250RT back in November and while quite a different bike, I absolutely love the RT. As I watched your video I kept smiling and thinking the GS and the RT share the same essence ... the amazing torque and HP of the boxer motor, the ease of handling, comfort, etc. ... I had to subscribe so I can watch more of your vlogs, and love listening to your accent!
Bought my first ever GS (1250 Exclusive) last year and i have to agree with your comments. I too am vertically challenged and am able to get one foot flat on the ground with a few adjustments you have mentioned and a new seat bung from NN which lowers the seat. Before lockdown, i was able to take it on tour to Spain/Sweden & Norway (arctic circle). One negative is the heated grips which have two seatings and i wish they would have brought the RT systems over, which has five settings and dosent try and burn your fingers off (highly adjustable) Nice video.
After a being a sports bike rider forever, I eventually tried a GS, sold. Maybe I needed a Dad bike. Had one for ten years now, lots of miles/smiles. Now Kate has me thinking of one of these 🤔. Might be time to treat myself to my first new new bike. Great vid Kate
Weight, price, quick shift in non GSA version, electronic shift cam (Suzuki winks at you), offroad telelever is magnificent on road, but not so much offroad and wait, did I mention weight. Yes? Then add some more, because you 100% would want crash bars. Otherwise is perfect and that is why I am buying one before the end of the year.
Yes - you will hear bad things - have a ralleye te on 2020 plate - 30 miles 2nd ever ride and the starter motor relay blew, melted the battery terminals, fried the main wiring loom and the ecu - bmw response ‘known issue’ that the tracker they fit as standard screws things up as wired incorrectly.... fixed under warranty but the bastard could have killed me if I had not been at stop when it ha-penned... brakes are also shit and leak again know bmw fault since they moved away from brembo-- wish I had never bought the piece of shit
Hi Kate, another great video, i just love riding with you and learning the way these bikes ride from a professional with a non stop commentary with so much information to give us in a calm and relaxed manner at all speeds. The fact that you like this over your 765, Doodle has the 675, shows it's pedigree.
Got a F750GS at the mo but seriously looking at the 1250. Doing a BMW off road course on one next weekend, so I'll probably be hooked after that. I'm only 5'6" so really good to hear your comments for us vertically challenged! Great vid, amusing commentary, subbed :)
Rather than ban cyclists from narrow country lanes you'd be better off to ban cars parking on the side of the road and encroaching on half the lane. I'm a cyclist a moto rider and a car driver
Agree. What's with is anti cyclist thing among motorcyclists these days. Like you I do all three and the biggest risk to bikers is from four wheels not two. There is no decent infrastructure for cyclists in this country unlike in many other European countries so cyclists often have no choice but to share the same space. Kate should know better.
@@Mikethebike721 flipping heck it's a joke! I'd have said the same if it was a tractor, a horse or if it was little Nora in her Nissan micra. Dont take it so personally.
Hi Kate. I live in Paris and recently bought a Tiger 900 GT Pro and yesterday did a test on a GS1250 for fun. The strange thing is that it felt a bit like a tractor to me after the Triumph, with a lumpy gearbox, and less effective suspension, worse mirrors, less sporty engine, BUT, when the time came to give it back, I started to ask myself serious questions about which machine I prefer. The GS has superb handling at all speeds and is so relaxing and effortless in all situations, while the Triumph is perhaps more exciting. I went back to BMW today and put down a deposit as they offered me a good deal for my Triumph and money off the GS. Delivery next week. Keep up the good work and ride safe.
I loved my company bike years ago, an R1100RT. The engine was great but it was the telelever front suspension that made it superb. Confidence inspiring in corners and the lack of dive when braking was excellent. High Wife Acceptance Factor too because it was very comfortable for pillion riding.
You hit ALL the reasons why a BMW Boxer Twin (regardless of model type) motorcycle is soooo Good. You have to either ride one or own one to fully appreciate them. They handle so well that you feel like you can ride MotoGP or tour forever or anything in between. I have a short inseam so I really value the seat options BMW provides us shorter Riders. The biggest negative is the initial cost but if you can somehow manage it, you will not regret your decision to get one. Great Review!!! 👍👍
I couldn't agree more about the flat twin, a very versatile engine. And yes, I think the option for lowered bikes from factory is a huge plus point for BMW. Like you say, if you can afford it, it is certainly worth it ❤👍
Great video. Thanks. I was supposed to take a week long trip to the Alps and ride one of these bikes. Alas it has been cancelled. So I am going to sent it one here in Colorado and take a 4 day trip through our mountains and see what they are all about. More excited now after seeing this video. Thanks...
Down here in Oz, BMW had a fleet of 1250 demo GS Adv's and I had an opportunity to test one up through some beautiful bush tracks. The thing goes so well in the scrub and on some tight and slippery logging trails. I'll definitely be trading in my Africa Twin for one. Thanks for shooting this..
I have a 1150gs and still love it. Great seeing my old stomping ground in this video, moved down to Wiltshire 20 years ago, miss rivington, great place.
Cant believe you nicked through the Shell garage on Beaumont Road!! Then did my route round Rivi...bit different than on my C90 though...cheers Bolton News for telling us about you, will wave...ride safe...
😊❤ your a good confident rider. Road position. Reading the road and decision making are good. You don't hang about. Make good progress all the time and vlog at same time. Good skills for someone so new to big bikes. Despite your height. You put many blokes to shame. Well done you.
Great review again Kate. I’m with you, I love mine. It is exactly as you say, “easy” in every sense. I’ve raced motor cross, and I’ve ridden Harleys, but my 1250 GS is the most comfortable, easy ride. Cheers (P.S. If you’ve been out of the saddle for a while, it is a great bike to restore your confidence and enjoyment in riding.)
Thanks Kate, great insight into the GS, I have the first of the liquid cooled 1200’s best thing I have ever owned, time for an upgrade and while I look at other brands, I always come back to the BMW. I will be having a look at the Rallye.
Great review and nice to hear a northern accent on TH-cam 👏 I’ve been looking at the GS so Google offered me up your video, might find my way to Manchester Motorad for a test ride 👍
What an awesome video. My wife and I rides the GS700, but have been thinking of getting the 1250, but she was worried that she wouldn't be able to put her feet flat on the ground. But she is also 5'4" so I'm very keen for her to try it out!
Hi lucky lady. I am an owner of a 2015 GS TE (5’ 4” also) I have a low seat but once I got used to the bike I usually ride with the seat on the high setting. It feels so much better riding with the seat up. Dump that low suspension and get standard with low seat. You will like it and will not worry about leg reach. When I am in traffic, I am careful with my positioning and ready to slip to the right to get a foot down when required. Go for it you wont regret it. Ride safe
Hi Roderick! Thanks for the comment!!! I'm a long way off affording one myself yet so for now I will keep pinching works but good advice! I'd always recommend people test ride them first so they can see what set up suits them most 😊
Well Kate, this is the second video of yours I've watched. You are a natural at this kind of thing, the bikes you have been riding help. Yes, I have a 2013 R1200GS Adventure that I ride nearly everyday. It's the air/oil cooled version made in the first part of the transition to liquid cooled during 2013. This one has the 9+ gallon gas tank, when it's full it can be a handful at no to low speeds but after you get moving the weight of the big tank goes away. I miss my R1200R but this big adventure has won me over. If I ever get a big pile of money I'll try and get a newer one.
Great video, Kate. Very well done and enjoyed hearing your impressions of the bike. Bruce did send me to your channel, so you have him to blame. Hope that Liz is feeling better.
"My brain is like Aldi's middle aisle" class line. Great review, thank you. No GS here but I used to fancy one, I went for a smaller lighter trailee with good mpg... no top end, slightly boring I know but I'm older and wiser now.
@@UsernameKate I chose the white/grey. I bought it a few weeks ago here in the New York area and it's been super cold and icy to ride it. But I managed to ride around 125 miles so far.
Just home from a 2 hour spin in the countryside on my 1250 GSA and now watching you having been introduced by Bruce on his channel. Enjoyed your commentary, you have gained another subscriber! Looking forward to the next video! 👍🏻😁🇮🇪
I ride an 883 Sportster... I have ridden a 300 Ninja, I have ridden a 800 GS, I have ridden a Street Glide Special, yet the 1250GS for some reason I thought would be too big for me. After seeing you moving around at the start of the video, I have no doubts I could ride one! Thanks!
Hi Kate. First of your videos I’ve seen. Impressed with your knowledge of motorcycles and ability to ride well. Glad you like the GS. Fabulous machine. I couldn’t make it through more than half of your video though because there was far too much image movement, bounce and shake. It appears you’re using a GoPro, which should have better stabilization. The newer ones have advanced well in this regard. Just thought I’d let you know. Keep the shiny side up!
I was wondering if your view is above the windshield, as the camera is behind it, and it's distorting the view :) let me know if u look forward above the windshield :)
Solid review. I really appreciated in your ride of your Triumph Street Triple how you commented on the unsettled feel of the bike in turns with the Ohlins suspension. No one mentions this. Of course, getting the bike sprung for your weight and pace would certainly right things. But just because a bike has name brand suspension doesn't mean it will work well for you right out of the box. Bravo for your analysis and honesty.
Amazing arent they!!! So glad you enjoyed it. Excited for you getting your new bike 😊

Do you still ride the harley now? I have one and tempting a GS but scared i wont ride the harley again.. did i say that out loud
Brilliant, i was thinking of getting one but BMW never have sorted the dash going all blurry after 30mph, i noticed it on Andy's and Bruce's GS also.
What? I didn't even know that was a thing! I haven't noticed it at all on this? Interesting 🤔

Tom Wagner Hi Tom, if you’re ever thinking of changing your RT I would definitely take a 1250 out for a ride! But you are right you will want one 🤣👍
Have always enjoyed the motorcycle content in your vlogs but what really shines through in all of them is that bright shining personality, keep up the great work
Thank you sooo much!!!
The lower center of gravity also helps.
England is gorgeous, just too much rain 🌧
Hi Kate loved the video, like you said I tested 2020 GSA TE in March & was blown away hoe good it was and bought one after lockdown was lifted & the dealers reopened it was delivered 2 weeks ago & its fantastic, great video & commentary 😎
Glad you love the bike and thanks for the lovely comment!
Roads👎👎
phillip chandler, I think a friend of mine used to teach there? I could be wrong, but it was in Spain. ...James Dawson, ex BSB Superstock racer.
I love how the speedo gets to a certain number and then blurs out. Is that a BMW thing?! 😁
hahaha ofcorse not!
Interesting feature, that. 😂
L4WNY If it also blurred the numbers on the cops radar gun, then I would pay a lot for that option. I’d even buy a BMW to get that feature. Lol.
Yep, it only kicks in when uploading videos to TH-cam.
@Kris Paul You can be fined after the fact or retroactively? what if it was not you who did the (act of) speeding? fascinating, this.
Well done. There's a reason the GS is so popular. As mentioned, it does so many things so well it's genuinely earned the reputation of being the Swiss Army knife of motorcycles. Great vlog, keep up the great work.
Thanks Thomas 😊
I think you'd be surprised by the RT as well. I had a first gen RT-P and it's the one bike I miss. Only thing going against the GS for me is that for a similar price on the RT you get heated seats, panniers and electric screen. On a F8ST since February and it feels like an overpowered 125 in that its so light and nimble. Definitely something special about the BMW touring range
I'm going to have to remember "my mind is like the middle aisle of Aldi" lol
Haven't ridden around Rivington in twenty years but recognised it instantly. Now ride an identical R 1250GS HP down here in NZ. Love everything about it except the rattle from the left cylinder. Hopefully BMW will admit there's a problem and get it sorted. Enjoyed the video. Thanks.
Great 1st impressions Kate... I have a GSA and before I had it never thought I'd like the `dad` style of bike but they just do everything so well! Great fun, comfy go anywhere. Keep looking at getting another bike but honestly there's nothing else out there that just does everything.
You take that dad style and you own it!! 💪💪💪 I know I am LOL
@@UsernameKate I love it! The dad bod I seem to have acquired not so much lol
@@ses310 muscles are overrated 😂
@@UsernameKate got loads honestly! They are just hidden lol
G'day Stumpy....
Great to see bikes out n about 🖖
Keep njoyin the ride
☕👍🙂🌈🌏💜
Thank you :-)
My brain is like Aldi’s middle isle! Comment of the decade 😂
🤷♀️😂
@@UsernameKate Dear Username Kate,
Would you like to be my friend on you tube, as I have built up a collection of motorbikes, as a further study of electronics, though I confess to being one of the believed, and also call myself, "the enemy" being an ex car driver, and have been making friends with a few other biker you tube video makers.
I want you to know, I have always definitely thought bike. As you say you nicked that BMW GS, because you work for a BMW firm, are you a Hell's Angel?
This comment has literally cracked me up
I really admire your aggressive type of riding a steed like a BMW GS!
Beautiful Video! you're a natural at doing these reviews/ recordings + Very nice accent. I'm a GS owner- 2018. Keep up the good work!
Much appreciated!
I ride a low chassis gsa and love it. Best bike, it glides over bumpy roads.
It does glide! Gliding is a good word! 😎
Well done
Nope, defo not taller than 5ft 4, I wish!! And thank you, I really appreciate it 👍
@@ergunyildizoglu8018 He was obviously and idiot then. Probably should try and forget that nonsense from 30 years ago. Times have changed.
Thanks Charlie! Glad you enjoyed the vlog and I'm glad you are loving your GS 😊
@@GJS-live also, rallye version is no taller than the other GSs. It is just the GS adventure which is taller in general than the GS 👍
Being from the US, I only understand part of what she’s saying but I could listen to her all day!!!
LOL
No likey no lightey 😂
I’m from USA 🇺🇸 and I understood everything she said , take the shit out your ears 👂
I once visited Arizona, initially asked 50% of the time to repeat myself. So started to speak more slowly. I can understand her even though Kate lives on the wrong side of the pennines
@@rockngpa5094 You're obviously from the U.S.
I always hate it when the GS passed me on the highway with a great speed. Maybe maybe i should try it one day. Cheer!
Never seen one pass me on my ZZR1400.....
I totally get the waving thing
I get ignored on my GS too
Rode a 2010 GSA for 6 years......8th bike after 39 years riding...epic bike once you ride it for what it is built for..Alaska to Mexico in just over 4 days...gutted the suspension for full on Ohlins shocks...magic.I am 6'1"...ex road racer and mountain biker...really miss that bike.
Definitely think BMW should officially rename the low model to “the stumpy leg model”😂. Great first ride review Kate
Awesome vlog Kate great intro to the GS to the shorties of the biking community, love the Aldi, mordore, and cycling petitions qoutes and few squeals keep it up
Thanks John 😊
If you enjoy road riding, then you might prefer the RS. It's an outstanding sport tourer and very often overlooked.
Me encanta esa Moto ♥️ es mi gran sueño , felicitaciones por el video 👍
Saludos desde Ecuador 🇪🇨 Machala ♥️
This is probably the most soothing POV I have watched in quite a while. Great job!
"if you want to see something specific, let me know and Ill video it".... Thats asking for trouble!! lol
Looooool
Hahaha
Thought it was just me🙊👍
Kate, love your video!!!
4:10 - My kind o girl: one that likes shortcuts!!💎👩🌹
@Andrew Sherif so is the text. Thirsty ass bois
You're Kitty at the start is Beautiful!
Jasper!!. He's a good boy!
I haven’t heard a bad word about these bikes .
MAD Cannon exactly, me too.
There is a recall on them at the moment
Yes - you will hear bad things - have a ralleye te on 2020 plate - 30 miles 2nd ever ride and the starter motor relay blew, melted the battery terminals, fried the main wiring loom and the ecu - bmw response ‘known issue’ that the tracker they fit as standard screws things up as wired incorrectly.... fixed under warranty but the bastard could have killed me if I had not been at stop when it ha-penned... brakes are also shit and leak again know bmw fault since they moved away from brembo-- wish I had never bought the piece of shit
GlobalMongrel What for now !?!
Hi Kate, another great video, i just love riding with you and learning the way these bikes ride from a professional with a non stop commentary with so much information to give us in a calm and relaxed manner at all speeds. The fact that you like this over your 765, Doodle has the 675, shows it's pedigree.
I saw the cat and instantly pressed like
Got a F750GS at the mo but seriously looking at the 1250.
And gary... yes! Let's ban that too 😂
Your video has completely been over shadowed by the appearance of jasper......
I'm totally fine with that. He's a good boi.
I loved my company bike years ago, an R1100RT. The engine was great but it was the telelever front suspension that made it superb. Confidence inspiring in corners and the lack of dive when braking was excellent. High Wife Acceptance Factor too because it was very comfortable for pillion riding.
Hate that back road especially when it's full of cyclists 😬
Like you say, if you can afford it, it is certainly worth it ❤👍
I would, cyclists do my head in! 😂
Hey hold on mate i am a biker and a cyclist.
A bit of jest guys 😂 play nicely with the other children lol
Great video. Thanks. I was supposed to take a week long trip to the Alps and ride one of these bikes. Alas it has been cancelled. So I am going to sent it one here in Colorado and take a 4 day trip through our mountains and see what they are all about. More excited now after seeing this video. Thanks...
I'll have to thank Bruce for introducing us.. I'm thoroughly enjoying your style and content..
Thanks man! That means alot!
Hey Steve! Ah! Glad this video could trigger some memories 🥰 glad you still love your 1150GS 👍
Thanks Richard 😊
Nice vid Kate, having ridden 6-900 sport bikes for most of my life my eyes were opened test riding a GS, I fur kin love mine
Thanks Stephen 😊👍
Nice video! I like your positive attitude and way of describing the bike. I just bought a '22 GS and so far I like it!
Hey Kyle! So glad you like it! It is an absolutely epic machine. Which colour did you go for?
@@UsernameKate I chose the white/grey. I bought it a few weeks ago here in the New York area and it's been super cold and icy to ride it. But I managed to ride around 125 miles so far.
I have the R1100GS .
Had an 1150gs in 2001 then changed to numerous bikes then got the 1100gs in 2006 great bike will never get rid .
Just home from a 2 hour spin in the countryside on my 1250 GSA and now watching you having been introduced by Bruce on his channel. Enjoyed your commentary, you have gained another subscriber! Looking forward to the next video! 👍🏻😁🇮🇪
the best trail bike on the market. Good driving and a pretty girl. Congratulations!!! I now have the r1250Gs Adv. and I am proud.
Glad you love the bike Jordi 👍
I ride an 883 Sportster... I have ridden a 300 Ninja, I have ridden a 800 GS, I have ridden a Street Glide Special, yet the 1250GS for some reason I thought would be too big for me. After seeing you moving around at the start of the video, I have no doubts I could ride one! Thanks!
You'll definitely be fine! If I can do it, anyone can 😊
I have had 15 new bikes up until I bought a 2019 R1250GS..............the GS has changed my life!!
I was born and raised in Bolton, head up to the barn everytime I visit. Great video.
I had a Triumph Rocket III. Loved it. I now have a BMW K1200LT and love it.
Hi Kate. Just letting you Knowwwwww I love your sense of humor. Plus. Great GS talk and ride
