One thing I’ll add that I didn’t mention in the video is to be careful of blaming. This is something I used to really struggle with. Sometimes your teammates truly are bad and can’t play. But regardless of how good they are, they’ll make mistakes. So sure those couple of plays might be noticeable reasons you guys lost, but there’s a lot of things that happened in the game that you might forget that also are equally responsible for the loss. Maybe you missed a layup or open three or turned the ball over or didn’t box out your guy on a shot and he got the rebound and scored. Part of being the best player on the team and a leader is being able to accept responsibility for wins and losses. When you win, you can take your share of the credit. And when you lose, you can also take your share of the blame and recognize ways you can be better. That way even if your teammates mess up, you’ll still have a chance to win. That’s what it means to be a leader and a great teammate. Maybe the most important part of a championship level team is each persons willingness to take responsibility for the outcome, no matter “who’s fault it is.”
Good thoughts. At the park, I sometimes encourage players to choose inferior teammates, for a couple of reasons. 1. If you’re skilled enough, teaching your teammates, elevating them, and bringing the best out of them in the heat of battle can be a great learning tool for yourself. I find that one of the best ways to learn something is to teach it to other people. And 2. It can be a great slump breaker. If you’re going through some kind of slump, there’s nothing like being forced to be the go-to player on your team to bust yourself out of a funk.
Streetball Strategies absolutely. I’m all for that. There’s so much room for growth if a player is willing to do that and maybe get beat badly sometimes. I think it’s good to experience both being the worst on your team and being the best on your team, but I think learning to be able to elevate your teammates is an invaluable skill to have.
BINGO! My senior year in hs I became the first option on the team and my coach put jv players vs varsity players except he switched one of the jv players with me to play with varsity. At that moment I took it as a challenge and to make a long story short, we won every single game that day in practice and it got so bad that some of my teammates on varsity started arguing with me because they kept losing and our coach ended our session early.
I’m by far the best player on my team. From my experience this all works, but another big thing that will help you raise your team to that next level is your conditioning and off the ball movement. Moving well off the ball will give you more opportunities to score and more quality looks at a shot. And of course you need to be in very good shape so you can play well for extended periods of time.
Yeh today my two teammates wouldn’t pass. We’re playing a 4v4 and my teammates would always check up the ball and when I ask her to pass she would straight up try and dribble through whenever I got given ball which was barely I would score and so would my other friend but we still won

I played a match and one dude is varsity, the other dude is also varsity, the other 2 dudes on my team were kids who don’t play. Only I scored. The other three dudes could pass all around and even the third one could score and made it hard.
My team sucks and IM a really skilled player been playing gaurd sense 2nd grade and im 6'1 in 8th grade tall and lenghty and i got placed with bums cause my school sucks besides jv and varsity.
One of my teammates tried to score on the wrong hoop and airballed 💀💀. I'm fine at basketball like if you pass to me I can score and I can pass pretty gud but today we played against a team and lost 8 to 28 its rec but still that's horrible this vid helped Alot thanks bro.👊👊
