i sold my Galaxy S8+ for this Xperia XZ Premium and never regret, the reviews are true, it's one of the fastest or rather snappiest phone I've ever used!

hereyougo i have lots of experience and they are probably in my opinion the best phone, it will give you high performances for a very long time, had one Sony phone for like 6 years and it was still excellent

My main reason for picking a Xperia instead of a galaxy is that galaxies with the same hardware always lag and slow down. Even Huawei's phones run faster and more efficient. Because the skins on Sony's and HTC are so lean (closest to stock) Their phones run much faster or rather more consistently fast. And their updates policies are allot better: faster updates and longer support, just like with Pixel or an Apple device you pay extra for that privilege. And im still debating wether I'd give up stereo speakers for a longer screen.
Funny how people are calling those features a gimmick, when they know that soon every future smartphone will have them. People have forgotten that Sony was the one who started the trend of water-resistant phones and also glass backs in android. At that time, everyone called those things a gimmick. Who needs a water proof phone? Who's gonna use their phone in water? Glass back will break easily! Blah Blah! And now see, they all followed... Just like this, future phones will have 4K displays and 960fps (or higher) Slow-mo capabilities. Then it will not be a gimmick? Oh and by the way, all reviewers and people are complaining about 960fps having limited time and quality. Remember, 960fps is just an option. Just like any other phone, you do have 120fps (or maybe 240fps, I'm not sure) option with limit less time and higher quality. It's not like they've only given you 960fps and now you're bound to use it only. It's just an option or more like Sony just wanted to innovate in camera department. Same goes for the 4K Res. It's not in 4K all the time, everything runs in 1080p. 4K only kicks in when you're actually watching some 4K content, which makes a lot more sense!
I really don't understand why everyone is concerning the bezels..... Is that sony really has to follow the 'trend' created by Samsung and Apple? I feel the large bezel is a nice design, you can rest your thumbs on it while watching videos and avoid misclicking. It looks nice and got a unique sony style, I really like it. Just bought one XZ premium absolutely a nice phone!!
I have the Z5 Premium the previous model and i have to say the 4K resolution it's really useful just if you like watching photos. Unfortunately, the Netflix / TH-cam 4K resolution is not supported but anyhow you can not see the difference from an HD source at a "normal" distance. A big issue is the heat from the back, especially in the NFC logo. I do not know if in this new model it do the same thing. When you use the slow motion the device become very hot end sometimes appear an overheating warning. But at the end i can say Sony makes good phones. I'm happy to have bought it.
I've been happy with mt Xperia XZ Premium for 2 years. Some guys always ask which mobile I have. They get curious. I like the DSD FLAC formats for my HiRes music, I am not a fan watching movies, but I want to edit my photos with Lightroom when I am don't have a tablet or the computer around. So, the mobile is in pristine condition, since I opened it I use Skinomi screen protector and the back also. It runs very well. So, it depends what's the preference you pick up the mobile you prefer.
U.s model is on sale for $699 right now. International model is around $650 usually. I currently have the u.s chrome xz premium and love it!! best Android phone right now imo

Sony first fitted their industry leading camera cmos sensory into this phone...it now supplies iPhone x with it....Samsung could not beleive how good it is and is trying to copy the technology .thats how advanced this phone has been
I can't wait for my upgrade to get this phone, I have owned a Sony Z5 Premium 16 months and have absolutely loved it. Unlike the fragile Samsung Galaxy S I have previously owned it still looks like new. I have never had to take it back to be repaired an the battery life is still good. It is elegant yet robust which is what I want out of a phone.
Give me dual front facing speakers all day and I'll gladly take it! Prefer that better audio experience over a tall weird aspect ratio screen any day of the week. Excited for that HTC built Pixel 2 with ffs, stock Android and hand friendly size... Hopefully Google won't handicap the small version with a cheaper processor and stick to last year formula of same internals on both handsets.
You can also get 4k from browsers if you have it set for desktop mode. And you do not have to hold it up to your face to see a difference between 1080 and 2160. Just enable the magnification gesture and the magnify super small print. And you failed to state is shows LTE+ on updated towers or that it is only $599 at Bestbuy. I am very happy with mine but Sony needs a way to hide the on screen buttons because other phones can do hide those buttons.

If you have a good eye you can really see the the 4k and the uncomfortable design of the phone well for some people like me it's actually pretty comfortable since I don't use one hand that often and I always used Sony's phones so I'm used to it and actually like the old fashioned look on it
i m a sony fan. they don't have a budget phone any more in the market. i don't blame. im still use 2 of my 3 years old buddy. since you mention about this phone run application on 2k and play movie at 4k. it might help a lot. because most of wireless data at different location reception will different. 2k still fine, but if run 4k application do need higher speed of data. like my hometown the consistency of data reception or supply is quit low. i like sony because it don't have any (never) application over due issue. no matter how old did the application still manage to run with sony. i use to own 5 sony phone before and i know, no others will get the job done.

Next to the S8, the XZ Premium looks stunning! In fact, it looks stunning in every way! I can't believe the reviewer said it looks dated. The disappearance of top/bottom bezels and the curve sides of current handphones are all marketing hype and are counter-productive in use.
Does not matter what people say: Sony remains Sony! It's always classic, always solid, always the same and more than it is! Almost all flagships use Sony's camera! I had a choice: Samsung S8+, HTC U11, iPhone 7, etc...but I got this one - Sony Xperia XZ Premium! And it is way better than all above mentioned phones, first of all 'cuz it works way faster and better!
sony has a design philosophy which is sony. there is a reason jobs new when he toured there company that this is how he wanted apple to look. every phone is a rectangle. put them next to each other and they all have the same rounded corners. big curve or small corners. i love sony design vision. sleek monolithic. the only thing i do not like about most all phone designs is the black bars top and bottom of screen. the one phone design that has my attention is the new mi mix 2 design by french industrial designer stark. 93% screen with a small bar at the bottom and very little curves at the corners. the monolith in 2001. can you imagine if someone challenge designers to make a cell phone, but told them it cannot be rectangular or have curve corners. take a look at sony"s alpha line of cameras and you will see a company who does not follow but go their own way.
This must be a review unit sense the back is getting so much finger prints on the back. The final product someone buys has a fingerprint resistant coating on the back I believe.
I watch TH-cam everyday which means I use that 4k screen everyday. Also that 960fps video is so good. I'm not even tired of it after may GB of recording. The one thing I hate is going to a phone without stereo speakers. I hate it way more than anything else because I consume so much video, I get used to stereo surround sound
I put Xperia XZ Premium in a transparent silicon body cover with cute stick on ring for good grip, because it's slippery but however hard or many times I've dropped any Xperia phones they won't break or shutter, unlike bloody iphone.
I'm using the Sony Xperia XA. Next phone will be second hand. Yes I'm a tramp. But should I get this or the regular one? I did see the XA 2 in CEX for £360.

I love this phone. I'm usually on board with Samsung with their OLED tech and camera quality but their bloat sucks. Bixby will never be Google Assistant and their phones slow to a crawl after 1 year. I actually love the design of the XZ PREMIUM and the battery life, display, and camera are all very good. My only gripe is I wish the dual speakers were louder. This is the most underrated phone off the year. Also, the fingerprint scanner on the side is genius! Wish they'd keep it. Plus this phone can be had for $550 on Amazon. 👍
1st time in this channel and i kind a don't like his review for xzp. Honestly, I prefer sony to trim that bezels but its fine still have dual stereo speakers and kind a BS coz there are people saying after 2-3 months of using galaxy s8 they noticed drop in performance while in xzp, good as new. And in XZP is the fastest phone for 2017 jusy saw many independent "true" reviewer says this (i like phonebattles versus videos) and its so much to offer than a 4k screen that galaxy s8 cant just like recording a 4k with last until ur storage out and s8?? 10 mins?! Very nice review Tom I really don't see benefit of 4K I don't like the fact that Sony stays with the same design as Motorola stays with same design for mods but Sony only does it for front facing speakers , which I would argue is more functional than front facing speakers I do enjoy the stock software and battery life though and glad Sony gave the phone the latest processor Have a great day

I love sony phones! My mother has the xperia X. and i love the X. at the moment i have a S7 with battery issues and a tons of lag. So my next phone will be a SONY! Yesterday i was in a phone store, and for the first time i saw the XZ premium. I tested the XZ premium the screem looks amazing and dam fast! But one problem it calls the xz PREMIUM but it felt like a cheap phone. when im holding te phone i had the feeling that i was holding a cheap plastic phone. thats was a little bit a disappoitment. I like the bezels and the screen and the speed of the phone. But i think i wait next year for the new sony phones. especially the new flag ship!
All you so called reviewers complain Samsung and others don't have 4k yet Sony has it and you complain you don't need it. Sounds like you are stooges for Sony competitors. And that is my review of reviewers.
Sony can increase their sales by at least 30% if they simply 1. Reduced the bezels in half 2. Rounded the corners 3. Make those stereo speakers a little louder. 4. Undercut the price compared to the competition.
by that time sony did this, the sell will decrease much more since it will lost it uniqueness and distinctive look, because of that, they will lost their current buyer the one I agree is the speaker and bezel, but cutting bezel isn't as easy as it look when you know the nifty gritty of the individual part
Ainur Izwan there will be no loss of uniqness. The design language will still be Sony. A little bit of curved edges won't hurt both literally and figuratively. Again, they just need to reduce the bezels a bit. Today's phones anyway don't have bezels anymore.
I don't understand why so many people have bezel phobia seriously after useing the S7 and S8 and other lighter bezel phones they're a god send to rest my palm and fingers on! I'm forever knocking the screen on low bezel phones, the only thing I do agree with is I'd like to see better speaker quality in future.
What about me? Well I wonder how long a phone can make calls and how well it does on signal? I'm strange, I can't see a 4k display or slow motion cam saving anyone's life or being any help in anyone's day to day job, but a phone that works all day definitely is useful, or vital even, perhaps that's why it's called a phone and not a camera or gameboy But you don't bother with that. This must be a review unit sense the back is getting so much finger prints on the back. The final product someone buys has a fingerprint resistant coating on the back I believe.
I watch TH-cam everyday which means I use that 4k screen everyday. Also that 960fps video is so good. I'm not even tired of it after may GB of recording. The one thing I hate is going to a phone without stereo speakers. I hate it way more than anything else because I consume so much video, I get used to stereo surround sound

I put Xperia XZ Premium in a transparent silicon body cover with cute stick on ring for good grip, because it's slippery but however hard or many times I've dropped any Xperia phones they won't break or shutter, unlike bloody iphone.
I'm using the Sony Xperia XA. Next phone will be second hand. Yes I'm a tramp. But should I get this or the regular one? I did see the XA 2 in CEX for £360.

Sony should start making a new design and better 2 way speaker output. With high ram offer sony should consider adding more features.

Abig selling point for me was the lcd screen instead of amoled. I went with this over the pixel 2 xl / v30 due to screen burn-in.

I love this phone. I'm usually on board with Samsung with their OLED tech and camera quality but their bloat sucks. Bixby will never be Google Assistant and their phones slow to a crawl after 1 year. I actually love the design of the XZ PREMIUM and the battery life, display, and camera are all very good. My only gripe is I wish the dual speakers were louder. This is the most underrated phone off the year. Also, the fingerprint scanner on the side is genius! Wish they'd keep it. Plus this phone can be had for $550 on Amazon. 👍

I'm in love with this phone
1st time in this channel and i kind a don't like his review for xzp. Honestly, I prefer sony to trim that bezels but its fine still have dual stereo speakers and kind a BS coz there are people saying after 2-3 months of using galaxy s8 they noticed drop in performance while in xzp, good as new. And in XZP is the fastest phone for 2017 jusy saw many independent "true" reviewer says this (i like phonebattles versus videos) and its so much to offer than a 4k screen that galaxy s8 cant just like recording a 4k with last until ur storage out and s8?? 10 mins?! Make it fair bro.
In my country this costs the same as an S8+, while the regular S8, HTC U11, LG G6 and OP5 comes cheaper. Kind of a tough sell for Sony...

I really don't see benefit of 4K
I don't like the fact that Sony stays with the same design as Motorola stays with same design for mods but Sony only does it for front facing speakers , which I would argue is more functional than front facing speakers
I do enjoy the stock software and battery life though and glad Sony gave the phone the latest processor

Yesterday i was in a phone store, and for the first time i saw the XZ premium.
I tested the XZ premium the screem looks amazing and dam fast!
But one problem it calls the xz PREMIUM but it felt like a cheap phone. when im holding te phone i had the feeling that i was holding a cheap plastic phone. thats was a little bit a disappoitment. I like the bezels and the screen and the speed of the phone.
But i think i wait next year for the new sony phones. especially the new flag ship!

All you so called reviewers complain Samsung and others don't have 4k yet Sony has it and you complain you don't need it. Sounds like you are stooges for Sony competitors. And that is my review of reviewers.

Sony can increase their sales by at least 30% if they simply
1. Reduced the bezels in half
2. Rounded the corners
3. Make those stereo speakers a little louder.
4. Undercut the price compared to the competition.
by that time sony did this, the sell will decrease much more since it will lost it uniqueness and distinctive look, because of that, they will lost their current buyer
the one I agree is the speaker and bezel, but cutting bezel isn't as easy as it look when you know the nifty gritty of the individual part
Ainur Izwan there will be no loss of uniqness. The design language will still be Sony. A little bit of curved edges won't hurt both literally and figuratively. Again, they just need to reduce the bezels a bit. Today's phones anyway don't have bezels anymore.

I don't understand why so many people have bezel phobia seriously after useing the S7 and S8 and other lighter bezel phones they're a god send to rest my palm and fingers on! I'm forever knocking the screen on low bezel phones, the only thing I do agree with is I'd like to see better speaker quality in future.
IPS panels are known for their RICH WHITES while oleds are known for the rich blacks.. just saying.
Also Amoleds are now known for their pinkish whites, greenish yellows and orangish reds.
What about me? Well I wonder how long a phone can make calls and how well it does on signal? I'm strange, I can't see a 4k display or slow motion cam saving anyone's life or being any help in anyone's day to day job, but a phone that works all day definitely is useful, or vital even, perhaps that's why it's called a phone and not a camera or gameboy But you don't bother with that. Jesus.
