My dad only ever got angry if i actually fucked up big time but unlike my mom he would calm and rational on smaller shit. My mom got angry and loud very easy but if my dad yelled at me i knew i deserved it. Which is why i always preferd to talk about shit with him

Yep. Sounds more like a confession or a chapter from his own autobiography to me. My ex-husband chose bars and screwing different women every weekend over seeing the kids. Even when we were together, he was either watching TV or out in his shop working on cars. He actually AVOIDED our kids. However, I absolutely LOVED to spend time with them. We fished often, played board games, camped at my dad's cabin, went to Zoos, museums, parks, and traveled to nearby places like Branson, MO, as often as we could. I enjoyed and was grateful for Every. Single. Second.

Trust me, it’s not just a Kevin thing. Half the time my dad didn’t even know why he was yelling at me. He’d end up shouting something generic or unrelated, then my mom would look over at him and then tell me to leave, all I hear is aggressive whispering for like 90 seconds and then he would come back and say something that was maybe 10% closer to actually being related to the issue 🤣
