    I've tried a lot of different things to help me deal with social anxiety. Some people actually started asking me for tips from what I've learned, so I thought: why not make an in depth video to help people :)
    If you want to hear about a certain subject, here are the times I talk about things;
    intro: 0:00
    definition/explanation: 1:04
    how I figured out I had + what I did: 5:13
    solo counselling: 8:24
    group counselling: 11:03
    medication: 15:36
    website/online help: 21:47

    Hopefully this helps you in some way :)

    it makes sense the 'hyperdrive' thing: your brain is 'overwhelmed' when you have anxiety (too many synapses ocurring). if you are already prone to have more synapses because some of your receptors are too sensitive, or have a poor self-control, then I can see the whole crazy 'fire' of synapses happening there, leading you to an anxious state.

      +danie peres Yeah, that's why environment can have a big effect on your level of anxiety. I'm going to be a lot more anxious in a loud place for example because there's just way too much information coming in.

    Interesting idk if I'd rather be a good public speaker and have other social anxiety, or vice versa. I'm glad your counseling has helped. When I'm anxious about doing something, I just remind myself that no matter how long it seems, time isn't really slowing down. The "event" has to come but it has to go eventually. And good experience or bad experience, it's an experience nonetheless with the worse case scenario of it making a good story to tell later...in a social environment :D I'm glad you figured out the meds weren't best for you before too long.

      +Riddikore That's great advice :) Sometimes time really does seem to stand still, and it feels like the torture will never end lol. Actually one of the things we learned in group counselling as well is to really think about why you're getting anxious, and think about what could possibly happen, because usually the outcomes are not even that bad, but for some reason your brain perceives danger, and that helps calm some people down :) and you're right! all experiences help, but I'm still working on trying to convince the anxious part in myself of that :p

      Haha and well if you've had it most or all of your life then you've probably remember the "ohhh you'll grow out of it" line which you keep hoping will happen or think the window has already passed lol Part of me also thinks well it's a small world and maybe someone that knows someone that you know could be around judging your every move. Luckily we have the comfort and safety of the internet :D

    so proud of your achievements! it's been a long journey and you're doing awesome. this video is a good thing, so people who doesn't know about it can understand other people with social anxiety better, or maybe even realize they have it, and find a way to learn how to deal with it. =) you go, girl!
