      You absolutely can! It was THE part I cut out of my ideas, but the plan was to trace the profile, sculpt in epoxy clay, check fit, polish, mold from silicone putty, then cast using clear UV cure resin. :D Has to be shallow or the refraction would be too much, I believe.

      and don't cast it on to the LCD itself because they don't like getting hot, but if it's done seperate it should work! A lot of watches have convex lenses, so you might be able to cheat a bit and just buy a watch lens on ebay and cut it down to the shape you need

    Only the crafsman could create his own tiny subscribers! I find to free off a stuck paint lid, just stand it upside down in boiling water let the paint soften and metal lid expand a little then it should come off easier. Thank you for another fun video!

    • @matambale
      @matambale 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      or rap the side of the lid on something hard, turn it a little bit, rap it again...over and over...and then when it still won't open, do what you just said there.

    • @markfergerson2145
      @markfergerson2145 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes you can turn it upside down and put a little of whatever solvent it uses in the gap between bottle and lid to soften the crusty stuff holding the lid on. Might taker several applications but it's worth trying.

    I would’ve been all over this as a kid. I was really into small, cozy spaces...mostly, for myself. But I extended that fascination to my toys, as well. One first toy lines I sort of “collected” was CareBears. I’d build little enclosures for them, made them a jacuzzi out of a small aquarium, etc and then I’d take pics of them with my mom’s old rectangular 110-style camera. Those were the days.

    This is so wonderful. I used the same wood bending technique back in high school woodshop when I made a violin.... (we didn't have an ordinary woodshop program).
    Those G.I. JOE's are really going to enjoy having this TV for their off time!

    Cutting tip from an architect who has built models for many years: cover the piece you want to KEEP with your metal straight edge while you cut so that you protect it from a run-away x-acto blade. PS excellent video, Crafsman! Thank you so much!

    As a guy with hands that do a bit of shaky-shake, this is incredibly impressive to me!
    Also, I really like the robot with a TV face idea. Maybe a robot with a TV head or something? Very cool B)

    I like that the chrome paint in the cup serves as an example for 'smooth surface = reflective'.

    Ain’t that neat! A tiny action figure TV that actually works! What will they think of next?!

    Crafman, I luv you and your vidoes. Thanks for the laughs. I love how you still play with your GI Joes. I never did 'get' the GI Joe thing, but then I'm a girl. Still, it makes me want to dig out my Midnight Barbie horse and got to town on decking him out with new tack. I did that once when I was about 12 years old because I put the original saddle on top of my lamp for display and it melted (cheap plastic Western saddle). I was so sad until I found some leather and made all new English tack for him, right down to the tiny bridle. All the best and I hope you'll keep on steady craftin'.

    I feel like I'm watching public access or PBS 35yrs ago. The Craft Man character is it's own entity aside from the fantastic subject matter. Thanks for the videos!
