*UPDATE* 1.1 Yuanwu is a great team member for Jinhsi allowing her to do Coordinated Attacks!
Papa Smacks Best in Slot. I went back and fourth while making the guide. I think if you have the Beginner 4* weapon box the Amity Accord is going to be best. I do think the Abyss is good, but if everyone can get Amity that makes it #1. Hope this helps!
Also YINLIN is a must pull for Yuanwu! Literally his wife they need to be together! Good luck pulling for her!

I don't really main any single character, but Yuanwu was the first resonator outside of my 5* who I 2nd ascended. His "dance" is just so hyper and bombastic, almost like Calcharo or Danjin. In contrast to Jianxin, whose more calm, he's frigging aggressive on the battlefield and I'm loving every second of it.
You summed it up perfectly! Just something about how he handles aggressive negotiations!
One thing you failed to mention is just how good he is at juggling enemies
Jump attack launches, immediate heavy attack to put them into range, resonance skill for further juggling and passive, and then just spam your basic attack. By the time the juggle ends, you can enhance yourself. It's insane, honestly.

@@justnoct I don't pull for Jinhsi, but, hey, good on you, LOL. I try to build all husbandos because I enjoy playing them, hence my arrival to this video.
I've been running my RGB build (red, blue, green) of Mortefi, Jiyan, and Yuanwu. It's a little rough not having a healing support but the damage potential is insane. Jiyans outro skill on Yuanwu lightning infused heavys just slap.
Also I've been running the purple gauntlets that stack attack and defense percent on hit for Yuanwu and have been having a lot of success with it.

it's because your G is Jiyan. Now Jianxi ( i know it's her skill that's green) has heal and shield. I also have Jiyan, but Jianxi just fits this RGB comp better.

The 3 star gauntlet that gives crit damage is good on him as well, since the low base attack of the weapon don't matter. A good stat stick if you don't have any 4 stars for him.
As soon as I pulled him I fell in love and now I'm a main for him even if I have 5 stars and better characters xD
For sure! I found myself investing in him more than I technically should but he's a blast to play!
Now i have him with 5 star but i still wondering to use or not
his pre parry has a really small window but if you parry cancel it grants you even more vibration damage!

Hell yeah thank you for the kind words! I know someone will make an argument that he is "split", but for majority focus DEF, break the boss, switch to main DPS and clean house!

Was pulling for the new girl that just came out and got several copies of this guy. Had no intention on building him but you opened my eyes to how great he might actually be.

he's so fun to play. My first main when I played Genshin Impact was Heizou and I see him so much in Yuanwu.

His 6th resonance chain means the buff will stay for 3s even after you leave the Thunder Wedge area.

I pulled him he had my colors so I use him but then I looked up guides and everyone was like “we don’t know if he’s good or not” then I saw a video that showed how cracked he is at parrying now I main him
They really did nail his aesthetics! I think many people are sleeping on Yuanwu, especially for late game.
@@justnoct he will be on my team forever there is just no one else who can make stunning enemies so damn easy if you ult on some elite mobs you can juggle them till their dead
If you main Jianxin, he's a good second partner next to Mortefi. Jianxin already sustains, so no need for a healer and that frees up Verina and Baixhi for other teams that need it more. For Yuanwu, the assisted dps from off-field is pretty good, more shields don't hurt. But importantly, he can help with DPS cycle on Jianxin by reducing the vibration strength more times in a fight. Jianxin wants this so she can more consistently use her ult and forte/heavy attack. Not that important on a lot of bosses since she can just tank damage pretty effectively while doing this, but some bosses move out of her AoE, so you wanna pin them down by breaking their vibration strength.
Those are great points! I didn't try him with Jianxin too much, but im definitely going to have to experiment a bit more! I really do think we will start to see the real value of Yuanwu with harder bosses / multiple bosses in Tower where his Vibration shred kit will mean the difference between 3 star clear or not. i suck at parry but my yuanwu fills that gap what a good breaker
What made me pick this game was Yuanwu because he looks great, him being a fist user was just the icing on the cake, I went as far as to use him as my main DPS, Amity Accord is in my opinion one of his best weapons and you can get a free one from the 4 Star weapon box you get from starting the game meaning you can go straight to punch the daylight of anyone you face
Yeah, I struggled with his BIS. Amity being Gatcha I put Abyss higher, but yeah the beginner 4* box is an option so I did an update post. He really is a ton of fun!
@@justnoct No problem, is normal to think a 5 star weapon would instantly be better on him but until we get a 5 star Gauntlet weapon that synergies well with him and has a Defense % main stat with a passive similar to Arataki Itto's weapon in Genshin Impact we would have to do with what we get.

i have Chain 4 Yuanwu, but i cannot see the shield when he cast his ultimate.
wondering if the shield only for other player (means only effective for co-op) or it's a bug; thus not casting the shield
Check your health meter. There will be a yellow glow around it where the shield will show. Similar to Jiyanxin. It works on him and all team mates for 10s. EDIT: make sure you enabled the Chain.
Anyone got recommendation on who to team him up with? I have a pretty solid ok Jiyan & Calcoro Team, so I'm not sure who to match him up with. I do not have Verina or Jiaxin, Baizhi & Taoqi are working overtime (poor girls). Thinking of using him with Aalto (C4) and Sanhua or maybe Danjin.
So an amazing team for him is Yinlin, & Taoqi. Little risky no heals but absolutely insane. Honestly I think he plays better with Yinlin than Calcharo does but that's my bias. He runs okay with Yangyang for grouping as well. Once we can get some Sanhua copies her CC could be interesting with him as well.
@@justnoct Originally I wanted him with Team Thunder Calcharo (Main) & Yinlin (Sub) and as you said he does work well with Yinlin. The plier activation + switch to Yinlin *Chef kiss*, not so much with Calcharo so I switched back to Taoqi (C3) because she supports both of them better (my opinion). I saw somewhere that Rejuvenating Glow set + Originite: Type IV can trigger healing, although its low Crit rate & ATK i'mma risk it and test it. I have sets of Void & Moonlite in case I am unsatisfied with the result lol. I really enjoy his Taichi + crotch region one punch.

I like him aswell but i highly doubt, that the "Abyss Surges" are better than the "Amity Accord", as he's always in his empowered state and therefor got his def-scaling on his autohits.
Yeah it was tough to pick. Energy Regen is nice and since you're constantly doing Skill and Basic ATK its a constant 10% to both. Amity DEF is nice tho. My reasoning was you can target Abyss, Amity is Gatcha.

Great video! Pulled him early so I’ve been trying to figure out how to build him. Would you know if his Resonance Liberation affects the team or just in co-op mode? The phrasing is kinda weird😮
Thank you. That's a great question. I'm not sure. I've dug around myself, but it's still hit or miss on co op info. Drops are client side, same with echo drop rates are separate between players. I'll have to test it out and get back to you!

Does anyone know if bosses and mobs have vulnerability to certain elements? The same way they have resistances to some?
To my knowledge at this time the enemies don't have elemental vulnerability, just resistance to matching element type. Could change. Who knows.

I have him on S5 and use him as a main dsp but I don't have a good team for him, so can anyone give me some suggestions for a team where he is the main dps?
I'm partial to using him as Sub DPS for Calcharo, but if you're stuck on it, id say a good support either Verina or Baizhi for sure. Then the flex slot could be YangYang to group enemies. Good Free to Play team for sure!
How come you did not mention the Forte and what to upgrade by levelling up?

Idk why Kuro keeps making characters that looks like main dps and whose attacks also looks as main dps, but they are not mai dps. Yuanwu and Jinxian are two of my most fav char but none of them are main dps sadge
Makes you wonder if some characters got switched around. We shall see as the other 5* start to roll in in the next month.
No Yinlin. Just a Jianxin and a Yuanwu s5. Guess i'm maining him. All I need to do beat TOA to get his s6.
I lost 50/50 to Encore early so I'm not upset. BUT I didn't get a single Yuanwu and got 3 off banner 4* and that was different ha.

you didnt say what echoes you should use in the 4 stack, the 3 points stack or the 1 point (i guess defense)
Depends on what role, but I'd say 4 cost should be crit rate / dmg. 3 cost should be electro damage / energy regen and 1 cost DEF. I'm running 2+2 with moonlit so I went double electro for the 3 cost.

Does his kit weaken lightning resistence? Does that make him more viable to help Kakarot or Calcharo? Maybe i understood his kit wrong. I dont care about meta just whos fun to play.
So his kit is really good at shredding the vibration bar under the bosses health bar. Think of it like a break meter / shield. Plus he has alot of anti interruption so he can get hit and not flinch and usually he's fast enough to counter. I would say Calcharo and Jiyan are better main DPS for sure, but Papa Smacks is a great sub DPS and fun to play all around. Hope this helps!

Brooo don’t do this to me, now i have a thoughts of abandoning calcharo (yea i know from the beginning i main him that Yuanwu is way more better than Calcharo) but i still main him due to his cool attack animations especially his intro animation, he’s the only character that has intro animations, welp i’ll try to level up my Yuanwu then.
Calcharo is a great Main DPS. I would use Yuanwu as a Sub DPS for Calcharo. Works great!

Sure did, I had to capitalize early game when everyone else ignored him. My Jiyan guide has stacked crit gold echoes but this one is doing way better 😂
I don’t get his defence scaling because o have around 1000 def but he doesn’t do as much damage as other sun dps For example I have 1000 attack on Aalto and he seems to do a lot more damage

There are a ton of variables at play to give you a straightforward answer. Weapon stats, Echoes set and stats, Enemy Resistance etc.

With enough investment, pretty much any DPS unit can be a Main DPS. I think Yuanwu slots in perfectly as a Sub DPS for someone like Calcharo. Great Synergy and plenty of on field with Yuanwu. Can he do main DPS? In overworld yeah of course. In ToA? Maybe, but idk many that have tested that out yet. Games been out a week, so once resources become more plentiful im sure many of us with invest heavily and try this theory out! Hope this helps.
@@justnoct I'm thinking of running this team template. yuanwu as healer (bell-borne and healing gauntlet), sanhua as subdps and aalto as my on-fielder. any recommendations on how can I execute this?
I would argue that the 4 star gauntlet Amity Accord is his BiS weapon due to it's 45.5% Def increase. Any ATK is wasted on him since he does DEF based damage.
It hurts me to see you explain he scales Def 90% of the time and then recommend the ATK gauntlet that is 5 star.
I think the perks are better on Abyss and to be fair you can't target Amity since it's gatcha. I think that was the logic. But you're not wrong and I actually switched them before the final edit 🤣

No I did a video on Yinlin she is absolutely the best unit to pair with Yuanwu! This team still works and its free to play friendly. But yeah Yinlin is nutty with Papa Smacks!

@@mrchubzdathird5449 Calcharo is still for sure an amazing unit. I would play him and Yuanwu just fine together. Yinlin is just a really good unit.
@@mrchubzdathird5449 Do you have any pity on the limited banner? Honestly you have enough pulls to get one or the other and that's winning the 50/50. If you're lucky maybe you can get both early. But you could always end up using all your pulls to get a standard banner character.
Id say pull for which unit you want more Jiyan or Yinlin. Hopefully you get them. If you lose maybe you get Jiyanxin from the 50/50. If you win. Then great. Jiyanxin id pull from selector banner or the guaranteed voucher.

The best I've seen is Yuanwu and Yinlin in quick swap both sharing main DPS and it's 🔥!

Not gonna lie but this video doesn't really give him justice. You need actual investment on the character, you need better echo, you need to actually show what he is capable off. Making a video and rambling on him for 8 minute really doesn't tell much of a story if you can't properly showcase him. Anyone can make a video and ramble about it.
I can appreciate that sentiment. It's still early game and I'll admit the focus of my resources has been on my main teams. Thanks for the feedback though. @@retretsung1682 Minmaxing in this game is free btw, no stamina consumption, you run and do the basic needs. Farming echo is 100x times easier than farming Artifact in Genshin. I've seen F2P able to achieve that extremely easy. I'ts about getting the information on the internet and applying it to your gameplay which is FREE and accessible to everyone,

his burst mustve been copied from Wriothesley from genshin because most of wuthering wave's gameplay is copied from genshin even that guy uses a gauntlet like wriothesley only difference is he uses his leg too
That's a tight timeline considering Wrioth was released end of last year. There are alot of places to get inspiration for the older sage wise martial artist but maybe you're right. who knows, hes still awesome!

with a low base attack which means a higher substats which is Crit DMG is really good since he doesn't care about ATK
