We've seen dudes get in fights because the winning team will do something flashy like a crazy dunk while winning in a blowout. Always thought that rule was dumb play hard until the game is over we the fans wanna be entertained and we are the ones who make them multimillionaires for it.

    This is the best breakdown I’ve seen of his two sports career. At the end of the video you start to get a lit numb to hearing all the accolades he was able to accomplish. Never new he didn’t go to training camps for most of his career just to be the best player in the league and win super bowls

      What? Best player in the league? This poser was a below average MLB player, and in football only won when he was on the rosters of stacked teams. With the Falcons, it was his arrogance that brought headlines on a lousy team. No more, no less... Guy is still over-rated, and pretty dumb too.

    Sanders batting .533 in the 1992 World Series is not talked about enough. For a guy who only ever played baseball part-time, he was the best player on a very good Atlanta Braves team in his only World Series appearance and would have been the MVP of the Series had they won. In addition to the high average he had 5 stolen bases, 4 runs scored and an outfield assist, throwing out a Toronto runner at home.

    Im glad that the culture around baseball has changed from what it was just 3 decades ago. Deion's accomplishments should've been celebrated at the time because it is insane for someone to play at the highest level in 2 drastically different games at such an elite level. Baseball is probably the hardest sport to play because of how hard it is to hit a baseball consistently when its coming at you at 95+ mph with high spin rates and all that. Then you add football on that as well and it sounds made up if there wasn't video footage of it.

    • @Jay_Force_One
      @Jay_Force_One 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I see your point, but it’s slightly flawed. Your argument is basically that he is above most because he played two sports. A vast majority of professional athletes could play multiple sports at a professional level. In fact, a lot of them were drafted in multiple sports. Playing two sports professionally is just extremely difficult to do because of the logistics around it. Most of them just decided on one to focus and devote their time and effort too. The chances of you being a superstar in both is basically none and that’s been the case for pretty much every multi-sport athlete.
      The problem with being drafted in baseball is that like pretty much everyone gets drafted in baseball. There are so many levels of “professional” baseball that it can make your head hurt. Unless you stay on a 40-Man Roster for multiple years……it’s not really that big of a deal to play professional baseball. That’s why the Baseball Hall of Fame is so prestigious. Out of the hundreds of thousands of people from Fall ball League to MLB, you beat all the odds.
      Sanders was literally OK at Baseball. He only played in 641 MLB games in his 9 year career. .263 Batting Average with 39 Homeruns. A WAR of only 5.5. Basically……he was a nobody in baseball.

      It's not quite that simple. It's weird, but baseball had already has such flashy guys as stars, both white and black. It was football that mostly lacked them. But it was the baseball people he seemed to have offended the most. It was a weird mix. He would do incredible things in baseball, but it was always read as 'incredible for a two-sport star'. Or an insult to baseball traditions because everyone figured Sanders cared more about football and baseball was something of a joke to him. I don't think it was.

    From Atlanta and I loved Deion back then and still love him today. He was a lot like Mohammed Ali. There was a lot of show biz in his personality. Professional athletes are in the entertainment business. Deion knew that and so did Steinbrenner. He’s still in football and still in the entertainment business. Amazing athlete. (Barry Bonds is who they were really talking about.) In 1992 Deion threw a huge tray of ice water on top of Tim McCarver during the victory party. McCarver was bad mouthing not only Deion but the whole Braves team. Atlanta hated McCarver so much we all listened to Skip Carey on the radio and watched the tv with Timmy on mute.
