- Another piece with the wonderful Cheryl & Max, adding to the list of musical tributes to modernist painters Max has been doing for some years... Arpad Szenes is still not a very well-known painter unfortunately, so I'm really happy to be paying him homage here through this little improvised tune. There's a beautiful abstract painting by him in the Fabre Museum, in Montpellier, which I always like to go and stare at for a while on each of my visits there...
Don't forget to check out Cheryl and Max's work on their respective channels, of course!

Many thanks to Max & Cheryl again! 🙏🙏💜
Abstract music to high light abstract art that jumps of the canvas…your artistic expression is amazing.
thanks, Reeka, your words mean a lot to me!
Musica fantastica su questi dipinti. Bravissimi!
grazie mille, Calogero!
Musique et peinture sont parfaitement concordantes. Bravo !
Merci, Claude ! Arpad fait partie de mes peintres "méconnus" préférés !

What a pleasing bouquet of Voices in this one!
I especially enjoy how far forward in the Mix

Masters of the craft. Very beautiful creation.. I love the subtle attack of the drums
Many thanks, my friend! 💜💜💜
So pleased this just popped up on my feed. Super improvised piece. 👍👍Terrific art too. 👏👏
thanks so much, LV!! 💜
I love the textures in this piece.
Thank you, Patrick! 💜
Another fantastic improvisation. Yes, the Modernist abstract painting fits the music quite well. Also, the music is kind of timeless. if I didn't know it was recorded just recently, I'd guess it could have been recorded as early as the 60s when free jazz emerged onto the scene. Excellent performance!
Thanks so much, Karl! 🙏🙏 it's funny you should say that: before i joined Max and Cheryl's project, they were working with another drummer and a bassist (both excellent) and the kind of timeless quality of their music as a quartet is exactly what i was most struck by upon first listening to it!
Adbutavagidhe 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Always a fan of the different artist series here and this is no exception! The music fits the art just perfect and great playing from everyone involved here 👌👏
thanks so much, man! yeah, I'm having loads of fun participating in this project! and, as a painter, I obviously find many connections and overlaps between music and painting!
@@urbulibaba have you used your own art for one of these types of videos?
Interesting art and great improvisation!👍👍👍
mange takk, Tomas! hope you're well, my friend!
Very welcome! I am fine!
Great improvisation!
thank you again, LP!
That's incredible, the music goes so well with the pictures! Did you make the music to match the pictures, or vice versa? Or was it by chance? Very sensitively played!!!
thanks so much, Muratti! choosing a particular artist usually comes after the recording's been completed but sometimes either Max or myself suggest a name beforehand. we do try to find works that match the overall vibe of the tune (such as the tribute to Matt sesow, which was a bit more aggressive-sounding and angular)
superb darkness Great track My FRiend
Cheers, James! glad you enjoyed it!
