Zinus SmartBase Folding Mattress Foundation Review

We were looking for a folding bed platform that would be light weight and easy to store and discovered the Zinus SmartBase mattress foundation. It’s designed to be high enough to store boxes underneath as under-bed storage and work with a basic mattress on top without a box spring. The frame is very quiet but sometimes finnicky and difficult to fold and unfold. I found the pins and arms would sometimes get stuck and also had to bend a little to completely fold down.
This metal bed frame stands about 14 inches off the ground with about 13 inches of usable height clearance. It does not require any tools to assemble (it takes me about five minutes to do and each of the two parts for a queen size weighs about 20 lbs). Priced at $79 for the queen size, this frame is pretty cheap. You can get it in Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King and California King ranging from $59 to $89 making it affordable across a wide range of sizes. They also sell a special attachment bracket set for adding a headboard. The frame is made of steel and painted for protection, it has plastic feet to increase surface area and reduce the potential of scratching the floor when moving. I ordered the regular frame but they also sell a deluxe which has reinforced stability from t-shaped legs which would be good for heavier people. I am 5’9” in height and weigh about 135 lbs.

Worse bed base ive ever got. 5 of the thin bars on the top of the base has snapped just by getting off the bed. I now have a bad back because the mattress just sinks into the base where the bars were supposed to be. I'm not even heavy just weigh 11st. Haven't even had it for a year

Horrible choice for a bedframe for a young person, impossible to have sex on that type of bed frame it's good for sleeping only.
