I've been to Naples on holiday and it is true, everywhere I went there were shrines to Maradona, or pictures of him on the wall in bars and restaurants. I live in Edinburgh, Scotland and my two favourite pizzerias both do Neapolitan style pizzas, which is the best in my opinion. One of them is called Pizzeria 1926, named after the year Napoli FC was founded, and the walls are covered with Maradona memorabilia.

Bruce Lee was unfaithful and smoked marijuana, Mike Tyson beat his wife and jailed for rape, Muhammed Ali didn't want to join the army and so on. But they all had charisma and personality that appealed to the fans and people in general. Of course it's their athletic abilities that made them great. But I'm willing to go further that these idols/icons became so big, larger than life, because of their controversy. You want role models? That's your parents job, judge your parents.
