in my opinion with all the rudeness and disrespect, i think the guards should be payed alot more than what they are

Everywhere you look there are such Amazing buildings and statues! Absolutely Stunning architecture and it’s all so old and so many tourists!! The next to the last guard on horseback looks like a child. He’s got to be in his teens!

So wonderful to watch these majestic, powerful, beautifully groomed horses and their riders working together. Fabulous to hear the guards bellows, as they get idiotic, brain dead, holier than thou tourists out of the way.
    Thank you for your service.

This comes with the territory of being a tourist attraction , just because people aren't aware of the rules does not make them idiots . The idiots are the ones that totally disregard the sign by the guards on the horses.

Learn with your Portuguese colleagues: use your police or call the guards inside. If they don't move: fine them or arrest them.

      Probably, that's beyond their jurisdiction.

They're MDP. They're the most highly trained police unit in the UK and are responsible for guarding areas vital to national security such as nuclear power plants, Royal residences, areas around sensitive military facilities. They aren't there for crowd management although they will assist with crowd management if it helps things go more smoothly. They're basically there to avoid the diplomatic repercussions that would occur if a foreign national was ended by the British military whilst on British territory. It's less of a diplomatic minefield if that business is carried out by the civilian authority during peacetime. But that's what they're there for. There's a good upload on TH-cam called "Defending UK Nukes: The Secret Armed Police" that is very informative about their role, training and methods. I learnt a lot I didn't know and I'm a Brit. Well worth a watch.

I disagree, only because that would mean the guards defending the guards. It would be viewed by tourists as the lessening of powers of the King’s Guard, as if they needed ‘help’.
