  • In this video we get to witness this extremely disrespectful tourist who had no second thought of going into the horse box! He was told many times to get out but was just not listening! This infuriated the guards making them very angry and even pushed him away! They even tried to use the horse to charge at him in order for the tourist to get back…Never disobey the rules at the horse guard parade or you will regret it! Enjoy the video!

Whether he could speak English or not, surely he could see that the two Guards were engaged in conversation? I don't know of any country where pushing in on a private conversation is not regarded as extremely rude, but I think he did so because he'd seen that very ignorant British woman do the same on the other side of the horse, even getting a man to join her. @@k1896 • I'm sorry if you thought I was disagreeing with your first comment. I wasn't...I was trying to expand on it. 🙂
It's very interesting that your daughters found that Koreans could be quite rude, as my great-nephew, who lives in Canada, brought his Korean girlfriend over for a long holiday at the end of last year, staying with his parents. The whole family found much of her behaviour to be quite rude, even though she was otherwise a lovely girl. For example, she had a habit of taking herself off to bed without saying a word to anybody, meaning her boyfriend had to check on what she was doing, in case she'd been taken ill. On one occasion she just stood up and walked out of the (Korean) restaurant we had gone to for a birthday meal, after complaining there was nothing she fancied on the menu. Of course her boyfriend had to follow her to ensure her safety as they walked back to my neice's house. We tried to put it down to shyness, but she didn't come across as shy any other time, and certainly not when she was helping herself to snacks without asking, as she often did when visiting me. We thought she wasn't representative of her country, as we all assumed that Koreans would be as polite and respectful as Japanese people tend to be, so I'm surprised to find out that this isn't neccessarily the case. I think my great-nephew was as surprised by some of her antics as we were, because they split up afrer returning to Canada. Thankyou for helping me understand her behaviour a little better.

So I don't think this is acceptable behaviour whatever the job of house or guard, but I'll always remember one obnoxious tourist asking me if the guards are _all_ retired soldiers or just some of them, because a lot of them looked quite young. I _think_ she was conflating Chelsea pensioners with the Household Cavalry. It took a few attempts, but she eventually understood that none of the guards are retired soldiers. They are current soldiers. Before parting ways, I suggested she visit the museum, which I think is very good.
It's shocking how many tourists do not realise this. Again, I think there are some behaviours like this that are just rude. Full stop. But some I feel like stems from some people's idea that the people in uniform are playing dress up at some kind of petting zoo crossed with theme park.
I think of that situation often.
