Go with a Vector Vortex frame, you can build a 27kW bike for thousands less and it will have a motorcycle rated fork, front hub, and brakes. You can carry a passenger as well. I've seen that build pretty much match a 450cc dirtbike
how does it compare to the custom ones I seen people do on normal MTB frames that are running around 96v with rear wheel hub motors ( usually 3KW driven up to around 10KW ) ? would be nice if they could get the price of these down a bit and improve battery technology.

That's pretty cool. I have built a DIY eBike out of a Reid Boss fatbike frame. Running 52v, 18 MOSFET controller 1500W Hub motor running at 2300W. It's certainly nippy, but yours is in a different league!
And even stepping back to when Chris tried to race his electric bike off road.....my opinion is a two-stroke just gives you more confidence with the powerband off road!?!? call me old school......hard to beat in my opinion!

Chris is usually pretty quick with getting orders out. He might be having a supply issue at the moment but do worry, he will get you taken care of as quick as possible. Be patient. I waited months for my first battery from him.
I miss my surron. I ended getting an xc mountain bike. Burned that out. My stuntjumper. It has practical the same breaks as my surron. Brake pads are the same
rear shock absorber can be moved more to the Center of the bikes sit can utilize more space for a bigger battery double the capacity the ride will be a little bit more stiffer or rough but way more faster

I know this is an older vid but did you run speed tests with belt drive, do you recommend belt drive with bac8000 I recently upgraded to bac8000 I ride to and from work on the road more than anything but am interested in making the bike quieter but don't want to waste money if i am constantly going to go through belts
RECON is a hub driven wheel. This is a huge limitation as you cannot change gearing and it puts a ton of rotating mass in the wheel. Also it has pedals instead of pegs (more useless weight). Top speed is also nowhere near the Sur Ron. And the battery is tiny in comparison. Finally, a single brake in the front. Weak. 9k dollars? No thanks. The Sur Ron is twice the bike for the same money or less.

Being an E-bike enthusiast and having a fast ebike myself, i know how hard it is to get up to those speeds on e-bike gear! Obviously heavier electric motorbike stuff is easy. But in the 50kg class ebikes its difficult. So 85 mph is impressive. I would imagine though that someone on the sphere has probably built one themselves that is way quicker hahaha. It just wouldn't surprise me. Endless sphere has some luny builds on there!
