I was wrong! Lite Speed Bike says full throttle at 60v is no problem! I will have to redo the range test and go way harder next time! Could you imagine if someone in the gas moto industry made a kit that gave your bike 5x power and more range without adding any significant weight to your bike? It couldn't happen. Electric bikes are the wild west right now I love it!

Growing up in upstate NY and riding 2-stroke motocross bikes the landscape in that part of Idaho would be soooo different than my experience in NY. I'm not a huge fan of logs being in the trail, particularly end-on -- run into that and it could impale you real quick. Also, that f'n dog hung with you the whole way and, what was that, 12 miles. I can bet that when he/she got home the chow was devoured and then a long sleep -- he/she earned it.

Range of an electric bike is all about the watt-hour energy capacity of the battery and how much power you are using over time. Energy = power x time. That is, watt-hours = watts x hours. The voltage of a battery goes down as you remove energy from it, but using voltage to predict your range is not as good as knowing your power usage and the energy capacity of the battery. Power is determined by the current flow from the battery and the voltage the battery is at. Power = Voltage x Current. That is, watts = joules/sec = joules/coulomb x coulombs/sec

Edwin i love these video and I had a crazy idea that I wanted to share with you. So sur ron clearly take mountain bike suspension, that if you took a snow bike kit for a mountain bike and fit it into the sur ron just to see if it works. I mean if I had one I would t want to ruin it but again Mayb most parts for the snow bike kit could line up and work perfectly in the sur ron. How many lbs of air are you using on your tires in those conditions? When you put the bike back in your truck it sounded like you have a lot of air in your tires. Definitely lower to 10 to 12 lbs and you should see a hugeeee difference in traction. I ride hare scrambles in FL and Montana and I use low pressure for both. One bad thing is pinch flats but I pull the tube valve core and put in some of my stans mtb tubeless tire sealer and it works great. Used to get pinch flats in FL a lot from palmetto roots but not once I started using the sealer. Also, I don't use a lot, I only use a few ounces and it's good enough. Highly suggest it, and definitely ride with low air pressure on that icy snowy stuff and you'll be way happier. Also soften up the suspension as much as you can for your riding

Alright I haven't looked into these just yet. But does it run mtb components. Like forks rear shock and breaks. I saw a comment about Shimano pads. What do they come spect with. Because you can get ohlins for mtb. Probably will have too haha. And for breaks I have no idea. I cant belive mtb breaks are even doing it and keeping pads in it. I do one park day and my pads are like 40 percent gone lol.

okay so imo the 8000 is generally mad overkill for the Surron. what battery and phase amps are you running?
Asking cause i just finished a Proton mod full custom battery/controller/motor.

Seems like the instant torque just spins the wheel constantly.

You should use the same battery that the dog runs on.

Belt drive is much more efficient then chain, did you know? Lighter less rotating mass.

Also it’s better for ur battery to not discharge past about 20%. Of course you can do it from time to time just wouldn’t make a habit of it

It's crazy how much that battery goes for. >.> Over $2,000 is crazy.

I guess you have to compare how much you would spend on gas each time out over the years. I imagine maintenance might be less on an electric too.

The 72v has twice the power but the xx is plenty! And still x2 the power of the regular x
