I saw Buster and Billie on TV in 1983 and I was mesmerized by it. It was also the same time when the song “Every Breathe You Take” from the Police came in to popularity. I identified that song with this movie and to this day whenever I hear it, it reminds me of Buster looking for Billie in the rain.
One of the most powerful and tragic love stories ever filmed I still get a lump in my throat everytime I remember it. They don't make movies as good as this anymore.
I remember being 8 and my brother & sister snuck me (8) into the drive-in, movie theater/putside. They made me hide the trunk, lol. But this movie made me cry for weeks and weeks. My poor little tender heart broke and I did this day love this movie. I always asked have you ever seen Buster and Billy? And nobody knows this movie it’s an awesome movie, love the ending ❤️🩹😢❤️
Little bit of trivia----Dell Payne , who played Warren in the movie , gave up acting and worked for GTE telephone company in SoCal the 80's . He was my supervisor , very nice guy---I had no idea at the time that he had been an actor , I didn't find out until after he passed away .
A little about a week ago, I was talking with a Co Worker where he talked about how Beyonce had a Country Album that went to Number one and how she was the "first" Black Woman to do it. I corrected him and reminded him of Charley Pride, The Pointer Sisters being pioneers and how they played The Grand Ole Opry. I loved this movie too. I saw it when I was eight years old. I also loved The Lords Of Flatbush, and Cooley High from 1975.

Such a good story, I cried so much. I was glad when Buster got them for killing Billie. They should have gotten married and had good life together somewhere else. It was not FAIR!!

Buster was such a prince treating Billie the way he did. His Friends were such "B@tches!" because he put her instead of them. In movies I've seen over the years guys who get upset and jealous when a Girl comes into their Friend's life.
