- Police officers in Scotland say they are facing a surge in mental health call-outs.
In 2023, Police Scotland attended about 20,000 mental health-related incidents each month. Roughly nine out of 10 of them did not involve a crime.

The BBC joined PCs Kate Gardner and David Macleod on their backshift in Edinburgh as they responded to calls about individuals giving cause for concern.

maybe there wouldn't be so many call outs if local social works wouldn't lie in their files about the people they are "supporting" so when they turn else where for help they get declined, my local social work team have left me 11 days with no food this time around and iv only been able to bathe 5 times in over 10 months due to their lack of care and I'm in the glasgow area, edit local social work have left me to starve to death nhs 24 and out of hours social work are not willing to help
maybe there wouldn’t be an increase if you actually helped them instead of throwing them into mental hospital. breaking down the door would quite literally give someone in mental distress more anxiety.
So why are the SNP not funding the police adequately?
It's no the police need funding it's mental health and health and social care support in the community ect .
Many people who were quite sane yesterday have been freaked out by the shocking way we are being ruled .
If it were he horrific, national disgrace Falkirk Police they would show ZERO DUTY OF CARE to anyone but perpetrators of crime. Falkirk Police are a National Shame and all should be sacked and investigated, but wont happen as the SNP have created a lawless Falkirk Police Force. You sill get XERO help or duty of care as a victim from Falkirk Police, in fact they will make it extremely hard for the victims but do nothing about Perpetrators.
