Your video just popped into my recommended feed and I own a Summit as well. I just crossed the 50 hr threshold recently on mine and have no regrets with my purchase. Most of my work has been with the post hole digger attachment and the boxblade. I've dug about 30 hole for fence posts and 25 for foundation piers in clay/shale ground and it worked great. A majority of my hours have been moving snow this winter which I would describe as the hardest working conditions I could imagine putting it through. We got hit with over 6' of snow in 3 days and I moved all of it with the loader and boxblade. It's worked great for me but I have had issues with it as well. While moving snow with the loader, I had a sudden hydraulic leak from the nut exactly as you described. I grabbed a socket wrench and found another nut was loose but tightened them both up, added more fluid, and went back to work without issue. I had the same frustration with those leveling arms moving on their own. After 2 or 3 times dealing with that, I just grabbed a pipe wrench and cranked down on the stop nuts above them to really lock them in place. No problems since. Everything mechanical has problems but it's impressive to have very few with their very first tractor. All said and done, the value of this purchase is just unbeatable and I'd never consider paying for Deere or Kubota again.
Glad to hear the post hole digger is putting in the work! I bought mine with the tractor and have yet to remove it from the crate 😅 There seems to definitely be a trend with hydraulics leaking on these machines, but thankfully it sounds like most of them are preventable. I really appreciate you taking the time to check out the video and share your experience!
@@about12acres it was definitely the last thing I uncrated as well ha. I'd also note that just personally, I'd sway people away from buying the summit post hole digger. It's only a 36" auger and frost line up here requires a 48" depth but thats really not the biggest issue. I thought the quick connect feature would be an obvious benefit but from what I can tell, it's the only auger around that connects with that threaded fitting and King Kutter charges an outrageous price for a replacement. I've looked around at other post hole diggers and it's just a terrible value compared to many other options. Thats obviously unrelated to the tractor itself, but just food for thought for any readers based on my experience.
@ I will keep this front of mind when I finally end up using it. I have to install a fence in the spring time, thankfully where we are in SC we don’t have too deep of a frost line(I type this while it’s 17°f outside for the first time one decades) but hopefully the auger will work for what I need it to. I will admit I kinda went in full faith on the summit stuff because it’s was all part of the same purchase order. But I knowing what I know now I would have purchased some of the implements second hand. That’s what I plan to do later on with future implements.
I am one year in as well (started following your channel soon after...btw...great channel hope you get to do more). Mine has been virtually flawless. My only issues was the same as yours. One morning I start using the tractor and one of the valves on the side quick connects came loose and I lost about a gallon of fluid before I caught it. Interesting on the scraper blade. I have beat the crap out of mine with no issues. I will have to keep and eye on it.
That is great to hear, I’ve definitely been happy with mine all things considered. Make sure you check that collar, it wasn’t too bad to reinforce if you want to take precautions! Thanks for following along and I will try my best to keep the videos coming
I like the front loader adjustable hydraulic flow valve so I can adjust how fast the loader moves to my inputs
