    Glad to see you visiting SNFC and of course it’s terrace that has great view. Tinos is indeed a fine place to be for Eastern. By the way I have 2 cousins from there, one of which is married with an American and they stay almost permanently on the island. Next year if all goes well and you are still in Greece, take my advice and travel to Corfu to watch out their Eastern customs. They throw clay pots of their balconies on the central square of the main city (trying to symbolise the noise and the shake of the earthquake that happened during Christ’s crusifiction) and they have many philarmonican bands (around 18 if I remember correctly) that play accordingly themes at that day (Saturday before Eastern). When the weather becomes hot enough that at night time isn’t cold to stay out a visit to Castella hill of Piraeus for the view. Better a dinner to one of the taverns in the area. It has the best view of the whole south suburbs of Athens overseeing all the coastal front.

      @@agirlandherpassport Yes. It’s the most popular destination among Greeks every Eastern. I forgot in my comment to mention a must visit to the village of Pirgos in Tinos specifically to the house of the biggest sculptor of the modern years in Greece. This was Giannoulis Halepas. Also a stroll to the village will reveal the few but important and sculptors remaining to the island which has a vast tradition to this art form.

    Your travel updates helped us to have a smooth, stress free entry into Greece. We are here now and are enjoying the holiday weekend in Mykonos. We do have to go back to Piraeus to catch a ship in a week. Is this the only hotel you would recommend? We get back into Athens after 7pm for one night and would like to know if you have any further recommendations for night life or hotels in that area. Looking forward to your Easter video.

    • @agirlandherpassport
      @agirlandherpassport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am so happy to hear that! I have only stayed at one other hotel and it was too far to walk from my gate at the port. Is there a reason you don't want to stay at that hotel or is it booked? There isn't much in that area of Piraeus. Take the metro into Athens if you want to have a night out. It doesn't take long and drops you right in Monastriaki.

      @@agirlandherpassport We leave out of terminal A and I see that there are hotels that are closer so I just wondered if you might have any experiences with the other hotels (I’m always looking at my options). I can’t seem to tell where the metro station comes up and we will be flying in from santorini and taking the metro to the pier area I think. I thought the restaurant that you ate at looked like fun for dinner so we may very well stay at your hotel. How far of a wolf from the metro? Do you know if they will shuttle us to terminal A?

    • @agirlandherpassport
      @agirlandherpassport  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, you are on a cruise ship then. That is not really close to this hotel. My advice would be to take a taxi from the cruise terminal to the hotel no matter where you stay as terminal a is further away. The metro is not near the cruise terminal. I don't know about a shuttle for the cruise as I haven't done one here.

    The moment I saw the place you went to in the end, I knew this would happen! Smoking indoors is forbidden by law, at all times, but sadly some people don't respect it in Greece. Btw I smoke too but never indoors, it sucks and the smell is just awful 😖
    But to be fair it used to be much worse. Just about 10-15 years you would see people smoking literally anywhere..
    Anyhow, cool video! Enjoy your time in Athens and hope you have a great trip to Tinos! 🌊 ☀️

    • @agirlandherpassport
      @agirlandherpassport  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was interesting because it didn’t bother me at the time which is unusual. I don’t experience smoking inside often here so it is definitely less common than it used to be. Even my friends were going outside at first. Thank you!
