@@agirlandherpassport I have walked through it when taking a deliberate shortcut to see the national museum when leaving the soccer stadium store a few years back. Definitely interesting. The graffiti will definitely freak out some visitors.

Almost all the sites have a few now.
When I was there in 1998, that wonderful pedestrian walkway that connects virtually all of Ancient Athens, from the theaters to the graveyard in Kerameikos, didn't exist. The part that starts at the Acropolis was a major artery for cars. The next time I was there (2007), the connective walkway was in place, but aside from the Acropolis and Kerameikos, everything else along the way and adjacent was free.
Please do not construe this as a complaint. If I owned either the Greek or Roman Agora, I would charge an entry fee, too.
I knew you weren’t complaining. 😊 I am so glad it’s a pedestrian walkway now.

We have an apartment in Dimitrakopoulou street in Koukaki which is rented and it is the same size as yours-a diari- (2 rooms apart from bathroom kitchen and entry) Because of work and family commitments its been toi many years since ive been back and i miss Athens terribly 😢. Im Australian born to Greek parents and im so impressed with your spot-on analysis ... your thoughts are so much as mine were everytime i was there. Before i married, id go with my family and then stay for a couple of years at a time.. its the best place to be...
As for that 'feeling' you said in one of your older videos, that you felt when you first got there that made you want to stay, yes...i get that too. Im so lucky that i have so much family there and i hope that you have made good friendships as you seem so lovely. You really understand everything about Athens and what makes it tick.
My family is from a wonderfully beautiful but less known Cycladic island called Amorgos!! Its rugged and simplistically beautiful. Its the next stop after Naxos. You should see it. When I was living in Athens, i was hairdressing at that time in a large salon Kiffisia -what an experience! When i was living there, they had the 'laiki' flee markets in Veikou street and everything was fresh..fish..veges...fruit. Man i so miss it and you bring it all back.
If ever you have time, i so want to see some places- how Dimitrakoupoulou street has changed and would love it if youd walk it from Makrigianni to 66 Dimitrakopoulou St in Koukaki.
Thats where the apartment is.
Also Philopappos Hill & Dionysos Zonars restaurant there with a full view of the Parthenon opposite.

Followed you for ages as I love Greece. Only visited islands but my husband has surprised me with a trip to Athens. I've been trying to learn the neighbourhoods, we are staying at acropolis Hill Hotel which I think Makrygianni. Really looking forward to it. Please recommend any restaurants/tavernas

Thanks! It usually isn’t as crowded but that can still be a busy time for tourists so I can’t say no definitely.

You’re welcome. Not really. The main square can get crowded at night so watch your bags for pickpockets but it safe otherwise.

I have a question about the athens attraction combo tickets. We are spending time in Athens in the beginning and the end. Can we use the tickets for both the beginning and the end? Or must be used all in the beginning?
I don’t carry one and never had anything happen to me. You just to be aware. They also target tourists. You have five days to use the tickets so it has to be done all in those days.

I hope you are doing well. I need some advice. We arrive Athens Sept 7 and are planning to take the Metro to the city centre to spend a few hours before getting back on the Metro to Piraeus for our 9:00pm ferry to Crete.
Can we purchase a ticket from ATH to Piraeus with a stop at the city centre for a few hours and get back on the Metro without purchasing another ticket?
