You guys just made the rest of my days easy... However I'm about to perform the exact same job on a 2009 Audi Q7 4.2 which is exactly the same car I will be working on.
Estábamos limpiando el carbón de las válvulas de admisión. Usamos un limpiador y un cepillo de alambre en un taladro para agitar y eliminar la acumulación de carbón. Esperemos que esto se traduzca correctamente.
Cody I just watched this video I watched your other video disassembling the cam girdle ..😯🤢that was critical ...mann but u stood thru it ..I have an 2008 Touareg 4.2 FSI has a misfire when under wide open throttle cylinder 7 ..I'm thinking about embarking on this task ..can u tell me in hindsight would it be anything you would do different ?
It's been a while since we did this job, so I dont exactly remember what I would have done differently.. if you can afford to get a good walnut blast setup to clean the valves that way, that would be a much better way to do it than using a wire brush and solvent. Ahh, replace the oil filter housing gasket inter the intake manifold while you are in there
What is a reasonable number of hours a mechanic should charge for this job? The unfortunate thing is that my Q7 is so old that many jobs could easily exceed the value of the car. But my Q7 3.6 liter FSI (Gas) is great except that it needs new injectors.
We didn’t record that. We are sorry. But if you look close in the Timelapse they all have it. I believe cody was just putting it near the injector hole for show when we unboxed it.
Im 2 yrs late but wanted to know if all valves were closed while doing the carbon clean? Also what kind of brush did you use on the drill to help clean the valves?
You have to spin the motor until the valves are closed on the ports that you will be cleaning. The valves will not all be closed on all cylinders due to necessary timing/firing order.
During the time lapse section of video it looks like you disconnected the fuel supply lines from the pressure regulator housings. Is that correct and do you have any saved footage of that? I just did the oil cooler based on your video and am now tackling the oil filter housing which I'm 100% certain is leaking oil too. I have to look back over my trouble codes to see if any particular codes indicate injectors needing to be replaced while I have the whole thing apart .... again....
We disconnected the fuel line from the Fuel pressure regulator valve in the fuel rail. And unfortunately no, we dont have any extra footage. Currently, we delete all footage to the video once it is posted
I'm about to do this on my 2011 S5, is it possible to re use the metal retaining clips or do they break when you take the injectors out? I only bought injectors and seals.
I cant remember what we did. I believe we turned the car on, and pulled the fuse to the fuel pump, and let the car die so it burned up all of the fuel that was in the rail

Good video. It would be helpful to put the part kits required in the description ...
Good idea! We will start to add that! If I can find the order for these, I'll post it in the comments

Quick question! Will I need the reseal kit if I’m purchasing brand new injectors?
Not if your new injectors come with new seals installed.
Why did you put that metal casing around the one you rebuilt but not the other one from the box

You can reuse the metal clips

Well good video🙂

was there fuel in the fuel rail if so how were you able to do this task with that being a potential issue ?

Can you do my headgaskit on the same q7.
Sorry no. we are private mechanics and don’t work on public vehicles.
This is a 3.0 diesel engine? tdi or what?
We apologize. We will have to add that to the title. This is for the 4.2l FSI, gas/petrol engine

I would like to get your phone number or email address to negotiate a similar engine setvice for my Audi q7.
