I’ve always loved Explorers. Not these, but the reissues they made in the seventies. You know, the ones with pickguards and chrome covers. Lower output pickups… LOVE THEM! If you’ve never tried one because they look uncomfortable, then try them, because you were wrong. They’re amongst the most comfortable guitars I’ve ever played and they sound amazing. Not just for rock, but for any style of music. As for the V…. Not my cup of tea. 😬
Great overtones of "long hand saw blade" on Explorer's bridge pickup. Both PUs sound even handy when original low output PAFs in parallel IMHO... closer to P-90s First guitar I've tried in music store was Epi Gothic Explorer. So I dig it.
these guitars were originally made in the 1950,s,, and were often used by country players. the hair, tattoo, boy bands turned me off these guitars,, for ever,, But the little river band used an explorer on their first album and it was incredible. listen to its a long way there full version, WOW, you may have to look around but the 2 minute explorer solo is how they were made to sound,,, dirty clean.

I kind of love seeing these into a blues jr with a DS-1. Not the traditional metal set up, but that’s what I’m working with too!
