As a kid, I first watched an English subtitled Kamen Rider V3 (the "sequel"/continuation of the Kamen Rider saga) on KIKU, the local Japanese language TV station in Hawai'i. Now, all these years later, my wife and I are finally watching a decently subbed Kamen Rider together (having watched V3, among others, first). It's been a real trip for this "Generation Kikaida" keiki, and a long wait to get down to the roots of V3, my favorite Rider. Thanks for posting some history about these tokusatsu heroes! =^[.]^=
I’ve seen most of the show, but not the last couple of arcs; still, I love how the show just GOES FOR IT...in fact, my favorite thing about 70’s toku is the recurring theme of, ‘kicking evil til it explodes’...
I first learned of Kamen Rider through fanfiction. When I watched the show itself, I fell in love with the franchise.
My favorite Kamen Rider show from the Showa Era is between the original Kamen Rider and its sequel, Kamen Rider V3.
My favorite show from the Heisei era is Kamen Rider W.
And, while the Reiwa era is still new, my current favorite one is Revice.
I hope Kamen Rider stays strong for a long time. This franchise is amazing.

omg finally a revew in English that the presenter have sifficient background knowledge of the KR 1971. Like knowing the importance of KR Nigo and his Henshin Boom, and Dr. Death's acting (famous actor) etc..
I love Kamen Rider! It's such an amazing series and I love how bonkers it can get! Though I love the original series for being basically a Golden or Silver Age Superhero comic concept brought to life with tokusatsu, my favorite entries of the franchise from it's original era are Kamen Rider Black, Kamen Rider Black RX, Kamen Rider ZO, and Kamen Rider J. I just love late 80s/early 90s tokusatsu shows. I'm looking forward to the new Shin Kamen Rider movie, too. Might see if I can track down the original reboot movies, Kamen Rider: The First and Kamen Rider: The Next to get me hyped for Shin Kamen Rider. I remember the first one being good, with the second one being.... alright. Still worth watching, if you haven't seen them yet. But I have a feeling Shin Kamen Rider is gonna be better.

Do Rider V3 next!, and the 1st Kamen Rider had much better villains than Goranger. Also, I wouldn't call Ultraman a shape shifter because you never see him turn into anything other than humans. Size changing heroes is what you're talking about.
You have to do a video on the movie SUPER INFRAMAN (1975)! It's the perfect knockoff of Kamen Rider/Ultraman made in Hong Kong by the Shaw Brothers Studio.
I really hope Hideaki Anno takes an interest in more of Ishinimori's creations as well as other creations like Condor Man, Moonlight Mask and many others.
I too watched 98 episodes of Kamen Rider 1971 in small doses and I have to say, when it is good, it is good! But when it is bad, it's like were the makers high on drugs?! Although there is also another urban story of Kamen Rider 1971 which I don't think anyone mentions in episodes 67 and 68, Kamen Rider Ichigo was not voiced by Fujioka Hiroshi but rather by an unknown voice actor and Fujioka didn't appear out of costume for both episodes. Furthermore, Taki was the focus of these 2 episodes. I think kids back then didn't really bother who was inside the Kamen Rider suit but observant viewers will.
There are also dumb moments for example when the Shocker riders were impersonating Ichigo and the supporting cast like Taki and Tachibana didn't notice that the Shocker Riders were wearing yellow gloves and were colour blind about it. It was only until Hayato arrived and spotted the differences that their cover was blown. I really face palm when that happened. Despite all the goofiness, the show is really fun to watch and inspires generations of heroes to follow their example. To fight evil and defend the earth from all sorts of terrors and never give up the human spirit.
I also really like kamen rider spirits manga because it increases on every thing showa rider had also get Hayato story and how he was captured and saved
I haven't even seen shin ultraman yet and i'm already prepared for shin kamen rider
Hope you do more of these for the Kamen Rider series. It grows and changes so much but still retains the core of what a Kamen Rider is even with the current/modern era additions they made. Really hoping for Kuuga and especially Zero-One.
