For me getting the ball to go straight when I needed to in order to make spares was vastly different than it is for pro bowlers today. Also I was as bowler that had a very unusual style of bowling. Instead of having different balls for different conditions and setups my solution was very unique. It was based on the fact that my talent is copying physical movement that I see others doing. So what I did was copied the styles of a variety of professional bowlers. Ones like Mark Roth, Earl Anthony (right hand), Dick Weber, Marshall Holman, Wayne Webb, etc... Each style gave me what I needed at the time I was using it. If I needed more break point control I went with Earl Anthony. If I needed less hook I used Dick Weber. For straight ball shot I developed my version of Marshall Holman's shot of topping the ball that worked for me even though It wasn't a truly accurate copy of his way of getting the ball to go straight it still worked for me.
I bowled on string pins for the first time ever yesterday!! My opinion was skewed on them because the lane was last oiled December 15th. I hooked the whole lane with a house ball, they seemed fine.
Last fall, my league's bowling center got string pins for the first time. And although I was aware of the competition/regulation mode (longer) strings vs the open bowl shorter ones, my understanding of their effect on pin carry was backwards. But over the holiday, I practiced in open bowl string mode, and my scores that day were way up due to better overall pin carry. So, I'm looking forward to your next video in open bowl mode with shorter strings to see if the pins are more forgiving for you too.

String pins are a joke. Pin reaction is totally different. I've seen several videos of cameras facing the pit showing the strings pins already moving getting tangled with other sting pins not hit and knocking them down. Their will always be resistance to get a true pin reaction.

The FACT that Bowlero owns the PBA and is mandating PBA bowlers can’t say anything negative about them is proof enough. This is all about saving the largest bowling alley chain some money by converting to them has nothing to with making the game better. Bowlers throwing 450 + revs at 19 miles an hour creat me so much pin reaction that can’t never be reproduced when the pins are attached to something that inhibits that free-fall action.

You think that you shouldn't have to learn that? What?
You can tell me Diet Coke tastes OK and that I should drink it. But that is never going to happen. So don't plan on making any money off of me buying that garbage.
😂 To each his own I guess! 💁🏼♀️
IF we want to see bowling continue, we will have to accept some level of change/innovation. Strings save the centers a lot of money. Way too many centers closing, it's all about economic viability.
I believe the idea was to save money for bowling centers by reducing the cost of repair and parts.
This string pins is Shit bowling
String pins never leave out of range pins.
That isn't a real problem.
What’s even better is there was never a pin off spot.
I think there will be more 300's
There won't be. Strike percentage is slightly less on strings vs freefall.
Time will tell!
No to strings and No to 2 handed bowling.
I’m a one handed bowler. I don’t mind the two handed bowlers tbh. A lot of guys are very good at it. I’m not opposed to strings if it can keep the game alive and cost less for owners of bowling houses to stay afloat then I’m all for it.
@@garybryant19 Not the case here in the Philippines. All of our centers are still running free fall pinsetters and none of them struggle to keep open. Face it, if malls in America were struggling to keep open, so does Bowling Centers. My home country has the exact opposite scenario with the malls here booming and because of that, most Bowling Centers were built inside of them.
@@garybryant19No, two-handed is totally acceptable because it complies with the rules of bowling. Plus it is really fun to beat strong young two-handed bowlers at age 68. Before we start they size me up and say to themselves this is going to be easy.
There are still plenty of competitive 1 handed bowlers. Also after bowling on string pins in the USBC mode, I’m not sure either would have an advantage over the other.
Whoever decided to put ropes and cables on pins, prob never even played the game what losers
They for sure efffect the game no more free fall pins better get usee to strings hitting and wrapping around other pins
It didn’t happen that much in UBSC competition mode. They seemed to play fair. Casual play mode was interesting. Video out Sunday at 6pm!
Hell no there not thye ruined the game the pins no longer have natural movement biggest waste of money ever
Just garbage garbage
