Thanks for watching! Sounds good, I'm looking forward to it.
Best video yet. Authentic and honest. Sorry I missed running over the red light cameras....how awesome!
Thanks Steve!
Thanks Levi. I retire in a couple of months & we are heading your way. My wife & I have already been to Las Cruces & we have a good idea of where we'd like to be.
Sounds great! Feel free to reach out if you need anything,levinm@kw.com
Thanks Levi, your videos are always a pleasure! Love all the history, info and tips…appreciate the heads up on the driving ( definitely something to get use to😁)…we never get tired of beautiful Las Cruces!!!👍🏽
Thanks for your kind words!
Lived in Cruces for 24+ years. It's changed over the last few years. Immigration and homeless issues are really bringing in issues. Still have friends in the area.
I agree. Changed a lot since I was in college at NMSU. Still a good place to live, especially coming from larger cities / towns.
@@leviloveslascruces the crime and politics are the main reason for my relocation. Home values are another reason. It was getting too expensive to stay in Cruces, especially taxation and car insurance.......
Same most places
My Camuñez family has been In Cruces for centuries. My Franco family about 125 yrs. I’m born and raised in AZ but I loved the stories my Grandmother used to tell me about being born/raised there and learning about Cruces and the restaurant my her uncle/aunt Earnie Camuñez started in Mesilla back in 39. Enjoyed the video !!
Thanks for watching Danny! Your family has been here a long time! I love hearing stories like this. Thank you for watching.
Please talk about the lack of healthcare and I stress care. I have experienced the laziest and rudest providers since moving here. It has been a terrible disappintment and yes I have experienced better care and treatment in many cities on both coasts and between. It’s frustrating and a major reason not to live here.
Hi Angela! As a REALTOR®, this is something I can't comment on since I'm not an expert in healthcare. However, I've had one experience at the emergency room at night where we felt the level of professionalism was lower than we expected.
Our family retired to LC 3 years ago from Florida.
Good- Low-cost nice housing, Mexican food, winter outdoor activities, garbage pickup (seriously).
Bad- Poverty, lack of good restaurants (except Dion’s and Si Senor Express), police force (shooting old ladies), it’s a Walmart town.
We honestly gave LC a try and ended up moving after 2 years to Tucson. Think twice retirees.
Thanks for your comment, I’m happy you found a place that you like. In my opinion, Tucson is by far worse with a lot more issues than Las Cruces , including water. But in any case, the goal is to find a place that you love to call home.
I live in Seattle and you are so right about the Drivers! Lol
Hi Levi, I've dreamed about living in Las Cruces for over 20 years and always wanted to visit. So glad I found your channel! Every now and then I look up Las Cruces to see what I can learn. Hope to visit one day!
Thanks for watching! Let me know if you make it to town.
Boring there. Believe me I had been going there since the 80s’. Boring nothing there
I grew up in a place with a laid back lifestyle, but now live in a rat race. I want to retire in a laid back location, soon, very soon
I hear ya! We debated moving for a solid 3 years. Once we did, we never looked back.
I hear the pecan harvest makes the air very dirty cause they shake the dirt out of the trees. When is the harvest? How long does it last. What is prevailing wind direction? Thanks
Hi there! My apologies for the late response. The majority of farms start their harvest in October. It get's pretty dusty in the valley during harvest, but the good news is, it doesn't carry over to much of the city. If you are directly East of the farm, you'll get dust. If you live in town we don't notice it. Thanks for your comment !
Thank You For your videos, I'm sure it's the place I'll retire in soon 😃
Happy to hear it!
16:49 - "Get the Eff out if you don't like our town?" Your Dad is AWESOME.....LOL
Las Cruces is boring. Really. Nothing to do there. Even to retire. Absolutely boring there.
Thanks for your comment! I find that if folks are bored in one city, they'll be bored in another.
@@leviloveslascruces I had been going there as a kid in the 70s and had visited throughout the years. I haven’t gone back because there is absolutely nothing to do there. Even you mentioned in your video that if you go to El Paso for different reasons. Why go there if everything is in Las Cruces? I’m just being real. Why go to a place where everything closes early and is not open on Sunday?
I think it depends on where you are at in life. I used to hate Las Cruces, and New Mexico, and I loved LA. We went to LA last weekend, and I hated it. Didn't see what I used to. But that's the great thing about the USA, we have the option to move where we like when it's right for us. I love Las Cruces now. Places closing early has no weight in my decision to move to a town. I love being able to hike, ride ATV's, park without circling the block or having to feed a meter. Laid-back is what I'm looking for at this stage of life.
I understand. Los Angeles is a cesspool now. I was there last weekend. You have to be careful where you go in the LA area.
Absolutely. It's changed quite a bit. Pasadena is still nice.
