Don’t forget the weather. Yes, it gets hot in the summer, but not like Phoenix or Las Vegas NV. It’s a dry heat, so humidity is minimal. No hurricanes, no tornadoes, no blizzards, no tsunamis (😁) - I have lived here 21 years and I love it. Plus, the people are friendly!

Don’t complain about food options til u go to Deming, Alamo or Lordsburg. My PROS for living there is NO freeways & it is close to a airport. The biggest CON is that the Secret is out. Too many people have moved there since the 90s & it has lost its small city appeal.

How is transportation there?

I went to Las Cruces last November for my birthday on a solo and had so much fun! The downtown is so small but lit up at night and I had so much fun bar hopping and laughing with the people I met. White Sands, Carlsbad Cavern, all the hiking and trails nearby, the food, friendliness.. Ugh I miss it so much! I’m in New Orleans and I love it but I’m also so exhausted with the flooding, high crime, corruption, huge bugs, hurricanes, hellish heat and humidity.. I’m seriously thinking of moving there in the next few years. I’ll be back this September to explore even more! ❤️

I saw a listing near Old Mesilla for a small pecan orchard and nice home. Any thoughts on water availability for the trees? I’m not really interested in being a pecan farmer but just thought the trees were nice.

This is what we did. We sold in Washington and bought in Las Cruces within 30 days. I’m not going to lie. It was super stressful. Everything worked out in the end. We couldn’t have done it without Levi and his team! 😂

Texas property tax a solid talking point for a New Mexico realtor. Catnip! Does LC attract El Paso commuters for that reason? I’m central Texas. A state income tax would be less burdensome for most.

Just found your channel. This is great! Thinking of moving to Las Cruces. I keep reading about the high crime rate. Obviously, you are raising a family there, so you must feel it is safe. I lived in southern Arizona, so I don't mind the hot and dry. Is there a time of year that the heat is unbearable? Thank you.

Very cool. I have fond memories of visiting my in laws. They retired to Silver City and lived there for 27 years. Both of my in laws have since passed away so no longer visit the area.

I disagree with everything you said, you are comparing this town to LA. There are a shitload of restaurants here. Unless you come from a huge metro like LA, no one moved here because there is more parking. There isn't enough to do. Las Cruces doesnt have a single concert venue. Roswell does. Alamogordo does.

How can I get more info on the Rainmaker Alto community?

Our family retired to LC 3 years ago from Florida. Good- Low-cost nice housing, Mexican food, winter outdoor activities, garbage pickup (seriously). Bad- Poverty, lack of good restaurants (except Dion’s and Si Senor Express), police force (shooting old ladies), it’s a Walmart town. We honestly gave LC a try and ended up moving after 2 years to Tucson. Think twice retirees.

I think you need to stop bringing up California prices, ur not in CA. everybody knows that CA. is expensive, it;s two different things.

my prop tax in Houston at age 68 is 417 per yr and no state income tax
