The moment the mother in law said "without a daughter-in-law? We can't work for ever'.... A daughter-in-law isn't a hired maid to your son or free labour for your family. And you wonder why no one is signing up for this.
If you can support yourself independently then you can choose not to have this life. In the past, there was little or no choice.

I always wondered why the family name is passed on the male side. When women have a kid, you know it’s theirs. It’s makes more sense that family names are inherited through the mother.

Exactly. It's an anomaly. In the west thankfully women don't have to give the fathers name to their children. I gave my children my name only which is my mother's lastname.

imagine if a woman marries him, she will be the slave of the entire family. Wow, even if I am the ugliest in the planet I will not marry a very poor man with extended family and lots of baggages. I don't have any baggage so why will I take yours.
I remember one I watched yesterday the 3 men were complaining that since they had no wives they had to take turns doing the dishes and buy all meals at restaurants (takeaways) as obviously the 3 couldn’t cook since they are men. So if a women gives up her city job and city life she is not enjoying the country but becoming the slave of 3 men who think everything at home is “women’s work” and beneath them.
I didn't like at all when his mother said that she wants her son to bring a woman in order to take care of them, old philosophy of life that the daughter in law is meant to serve them!
PS: I am man but I don't like this kind of philosophy

The rich men with mom expects that the daughter inlaw is perfect, beautiful, flawless, highly educated and can run the entire household servants, help in business, watch out and guide all kids to tutors, nanny, schooling, take care of the husband etc, so i think it is easier if you marry a rich man without parents, or become a mistress without responsibilities 😁
@@Kastoraki In filipino way, the mom takes the atm pay of the son and than if he marries she gets angry because the wife will take it. The children are expected to be atm, or money maker. Fil don't like sons, they like daughters because they can collect money since female can get money from lots of men. they encourage daughters to hook up with rich men and get prego for child support. if chinks it's different, they like sons because the son is bread winner and will continue business and take care of finances of family and parents needs. The daughter is not important because the husband will take her and you will lose her in the end. the side of female is nit suppose to live with daughter but they can live with sons. that's why along time ago everyone is scared to have a female baby because of one child policy. But now it is 3babies allowed by gov, so it's hopeful that there will be a son. The daughter however is encourage to marry wealthy guy so she will not have a hardlife. But parents are not expected to lean on the inlaw side, so they need a son to take care of them. Well me, if i love my husband i don't mind taking care of his mom or parents. But if I married a practical reason, hell no! it's not my problem. i married you to take care of me so i don't like to take care of your baggages. unless if i end up with someone i love, i don't mind caring for my husbands parents. It is always situational.

The man says he’s not lonely anymore. He doesn’t know what that words means. He was never lonely, he was sad that he was socially poor. Having an wife and and son makes you socially rich.
A wife and a child aren’t products. That woman is now a slave thanks to her parents and her owner (husband) and the same will be true for her children.
On the train he doesn’t hold her or help her in any way. She leans into him wanting comfort but also is distant as he talks. He smiles while she cries.
There’s no difference between a woman and a sex doll for these slave owners besides the ability to procreate because a man’s bloodline is *so precious* it would be a shame to not have an heir.
What most men can’t seem to understand is women are just as equally important to society as they are. Again, a nation of old men is useless. Yet they treat them like a baby making machine and a slave who makes them food scrubs their back.

True: My landlord whom is Chinese has been dealing with the back lash of his homeland. Now the shoe is on the other foot. His wife yells at him and even throw things in his place of business. He runs a Chinese food buffet, now he's closing the restaurant due to low staffing. No one want to work in a place where they have to witness domestic violence even if its a man victim. He suffers terribly by her embarrassing screams and yelling almost to the top of her lungs. She also harass the customers asking us to buy her items on display if you say no... she's very persistent and won't let you leave. I believe she's taking advantage to a disadvantage, because now he's selling everything and said this is the last straw after she attacked her mom nearly killing her. She's gone mad but it's not his fault, he is kind and very happy until she holler at him. Sad.

They prefer men because it will take home a daughter in law to serve the family. They should hire a nanny, the bigger responsibility is for women, take care of the in law, and take care of parents, both couples should work to sustain the needs of the entire FAMILY. Parents should have pensions from the government in order to maintain the family

The reason why china parents wants male child not female is not because of surname. It's becasue male is permanent children. Female is called temporary daughter. The female will get married and leave her parents, and she needs to live with her husband and she will take care of the inlaws as well, she will be the daughter of the inlaws. The real parents will be left behind with nobody to take care of them that is why they are afraid not to have male born because male are expected to stay with parents and get a wife and take care of the family. If you have female she will leave you when she gets married, the male stays with you and needs to take care of finances and the daughter in law takes care of the inlaws as well. That is the main reason. Here in philippines they want female, because the poor families defends that female should give money to their parents, they expect the female will marry rich men and give them money, or be a hooker and send them money lols, they say male cannot be controlled and will not give them money. Rich people don't care about anything, since they have money to hire maids and they can take care of bills. Only poor people have this issues of wanting a male or a female due to their own personal reasons. If the couple is rich they don't care about this since a male and a female can run business that they need to pass on. It's not an issue if there is money. The poor are the ones who wants male to stay with them, and here in philippines they want female to give them money and take care of them. Because the parents wants to live with female daughters, unlike in china they live with male not female. Parents should be with male children not female.

when somebody dies immediate family wears white. Even the daughter inlaw is included because she is already a family. But the female daughter is no longer included and her hsuband is also not included so they don't need to wear white. Far away family is going to wear black. A daughter is called tempporary daughter since she will marry and be with her new family. The sons are the permenent famly member that should never leave and the daughter inlaw is the new daughter. That is the situation.

The Indonesian girl is about 40 years old, if she's a village girl, she's a divorcee for sure. 40 year old divorcees don't have an awesome life in poor Indonesian villages. It is a greater truth that immigration has destroyed Sweden. Than to claim that China's problem is with the one child policy. There are more advantages to a shrinking population than a growing one. There is a common denominator here and that is that it is cultures that destroyed both countries. But this with negative cultures is not allowed to talk about in democracies. The kids from these failed marriages are not the people who will go on to become role models like doctors or engineers but most probably become drug addicts and monsters.
