What an epic adventure. Thank you for sharing the highs, lows, and everything in between. You are an entertaining vlog host. Can't wait to see where you are going next.
Makes me want to solo Vietnam. You're a riot when you said you were having the best night with just a cigar with a beer and you're out by yourself. Haha!
@@thespinningtraveller1096 I agree It’s amazing how people can treat someone with a denial of basic dignity just because of social standing! It’s like the repugnant assholes, that abuse homeless people. One day, I believe we all will meet our maker

lol love this guy-he gets totes hammered! First visit to Hanoi next month and so excited. Looks like a blast!
Hi David, my hubby and I are going to Vietnam early October for 3 Months. What is the best area to stay in around Ho Chi Minh. We want to be close to best Banh Mi and Markets. We started our journey in Thailand. We want to work our way up to Hanoi. Keep up the great work. Love watching your videos of Vietnam xxx
District 1 or 3 I’d recommend for first timers, close to the attractions but still good food around. Other places are a bit more chaotic. You can catch a grab bike which is only a few dollars so getting around will be easy too
Stay in district 1,(Duong Bui Vien) Street.Thats the heart of hcmc. Budget hotels/ bars/ food, markets are all walking distance eg Ben Thanh market(well known market).
Cheapest Bia Hoi used to be 5k before Covid times. Not sure the price is still the same but the places to look for are the beer gardens (one I crossed by was near by the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum) and street bars outside the city center. A bit surprisingly this once was the case also in Hoi An as I thought it’s an unique Hanoi thing.
David, can you tell us how much it cost to rent the bike for the trip? Do you have to return it back in Saigon? Maybe you can do a video of the LESSONS LEARNED from traveling on a bike from South to North? Thank you.
You can do it with "Tuan rental motorbike" they have multiple shop where you can rent or let the bike but the price i cant tell it dépend the model you choose but for à month the price is really interesting imo, also if you have luggage they can send it to your next hôtel so you can drive à motorbike the same day for the hai van pass if its more i dont know
Ride the countryside more authentic and beautyfull now vietnam is loosing his prime so many modern coffee and less true street food do not the coastal side so many tourist and private resort at the best place/beach
Definitely planning on making one in a wel or two, but long term rental worked out to be $10 aud a day. And i could return it in Saigon, dalat, da nang or hanoi
There is one kind of fraud that i have been told, the shop owner have two copies of menu, one piece is for foreigners, the other is for native, the price on the foreigners version usually higher than the native's.
he asked how many pairs of shoes you clean in a day I guess; nobody wants to pay for cleaning rare maybe 2 pairs in a year the worker get paid for living
ha. you may have been a mess by the end of the video but; it was not a mess. several good looking girls in it as well. you had a few beers so what is the % there?
I don’t know how many countries Khai has been to but my mate he traveled visited 78 countries within 10 years living abroad for knowledge without income or get any penny if he decided stay in London to work as a postman he would earned 100 grand with 10 years But he prefers knowledge to money 1983-1993 he got no income any penny Who? Having a Lemon and Salt with a cold Beer is very Mexican!
I’ve never heard of it with an Asian Beer.
Is it true you don't drink water or ice in Vietnam, except for bottled/boiled water or you get sick.
I drink the ice, tap water I steer clear of
David just to let you know you inspired my friend to get hair implants. Thanks for the informative video you put out
