Man, I think it's GREAT what you're doing! You can see that there are good people EVERYWHERE! You just have to have good intentions. Love the geography. Good luck to Vietnam!
You know what David, you're actually doing it right of staying away from tourist areas and more on meeting locals and learning their way of living. Not only that you're sparing yourself from the "fakeness" of the people in the tourist area, which is also more expensive. This way, you're learning the real deal and saving money simultaneously. If there is anything negative is that you're also taking a risk being an outsider. But then, you have an Asian look so that helps until you start talking. The bottom line on safety I guess is that you need to keep your guard up just in case. Nice video and great adventure... take care...
Wow, it’s really beautiful nature, like you said they look like the paintings… so unreal. The roads are so hard to drive, but uncle did a very good job 👏 Everyone seems so nice ❤ good job David 👍
Ok, David... When I first watched your channel, I was a bit skeptical about what is it that you are trying to share? But I think you are growing and progressing, and searching for an idea... And I like it, cuz it's unique... Different than Phuc, Max, and Chris... Keep it going ;)
Using a pho ga noodle box to have the chickens use as a nest. You just have to appreciate the poetic nature of this scene 8:58. Love it! Great video, Khai!
If done correctly, grass huts are waterproof. Back in the mid 70's, my family had a house with those tin roofs and we had a grass hut built right next to it. There was a strong storm and the tin roof all flew away but the grass hut was fine. Also those tin roofs are noisy when it rains.
David, I am twice your age but I want to be like you lol. I love your adventure spirit and your kiddie smile just like little boy in a candy store. Very refreshing. Awesome videos. Incredible sceneries. Lovely people. Let's gooooo!

@@norbertschmitz3358 Hi Norbert. I was born in Vietnam, but migrated to the US in the '80s and I had been working here for over 30 years until 2019 when I retired. Then Covid hit. Now, I am thinking about going back to my motherland after nearly 40 years. My only excuse for not going is waiting for my wife to buy in. Last time I checked, she's still the boss.
Hi David from Gold Coast Australia Wow found you channel yesterday and have been non stop watching your Vietnam adventures I had four trips to Viet last year and am just about to go next month for a 3 month tour of Viet Like you I love to see and experience the real country and cultures Be safe in your travels and enjoy life while you can
Classic video footage . Im glad you n Uncle are safe n well . Landslide could of sorted you s out. How they live is all time. Random quality for us all to see. I might of found my calling with this out there filming. But i wouldn't look the part like you n ya new mate... Mutual respect goes a long way in life n youve worked it out early David... Safe travels to you n Wendy..
She literally was the chick from "The Ring", such an amazing experience it would have been man, the scenery is breath-taking, them roads looks uber sketchy ngl but uncle did an amazing job navigating, amazing brother, keep it up!
Wow David, I'm so happy to have found your channel. These back country segments in Vietnam are just sublime. I've been to Vietnam (Cambodia and Laos too) multiple times (most recently this past April) doing charity work for a US based nonprofit and we've been really fortunate to get out into the rural areas and meet the most wonderfully interesting and welcoming groups of people from north to south. What you are showing us reminds me of some of my experiences, but on a far more granular and rewarding level. Keep up the adventures and thank you for sharing these lovely experiences with the world.
Greetings from L.A. California. Sometimes my comments vanish. I do not know what I am doing wrong. Any suggestions for me. One word for all your recent videos. WOW Just what I like seeing. You are a natural my man.
Love your videos....goes without saying...! I've noticed in many videos, not only yours, smoking is not that prevalent in VN as in many other Asian countries. Am I right?
Thanks David for sharing the unseen and beautiful part of north Vietnam 👍 How/where did you meet the uncle? I reckon he wanted you to show the world his home village where no foreigner has seen. You won't catch another or many Aussie born Vietnamese going into these places 😁 I reckon uncle's Honda radiator is busted. Has Wendy returned to Melbourne?
The video was uploaded an hour ago and 101st like ... am lagging again David, my boy! alright, let me see what kind of fun you had on this one... I hope I won't get one of those 30-minute or hour-long advertisements, hahaha!

It's great to see the younger generation exploring Vietnam. As for myself, I haven't been back to Vietnam for over 20 years.
Hope you get to again one day!

I did unfortunately haha, didn’t have enough time for both
Very nice video 😂❤

Hello David,
as you know, in the north of Australia we have saltwater crocs and Box jellyfish.
Are the waters in VN safe to swim in?
Cheers

Am I right?
The places I’ve travelled to with water, Phu Quoc, Da Nang and Nha Trang are amazing to swim in. Otherwise the rest of the places I’m not too sure

Con Ngan is Gander. Con Vit. is Duck. Con Ngong~ is Goose. Con Thien Nga is Swan. Learn and memorize the names of these water birds/fowls..
The corn sellers were very honest, they all said the price at once lol
I find when you visit the villages and more rural place they’re all genuine compared to the cities

hey bro, just fyi it’s actually the Dao (pronounces like Yao) not Zao. The reason for uncle to pronounces it Zao is cause of his northern accent.
Makes sense thanks man!
