As a fellow aussie who often travels to china, I can assure you that you will have a blast there. The media is totally skewed in the way they report and portray china. We pay so much in taxes here in sydney, and for what = high inflation, outdated infrastructure, expensive and unreliable public transport. In china, the streets are super clean, there is virtually no crime, public transport is one of the best in the world and everything is super affordable.
As a woman, I feel very safe because of all the cameras. If you haven't done anything bad, then why be afraid of the cameras. It's so clean there in all the 1st and 2nd tier cities.
It's funny people always bring up the "CCTV" topic but they are totally fine where London is the 3rd Most Heavily Surveilled City in The World. Probably because of their skin color?🤣
Dont take it seriously, it sounds like he is Aussie. Its obligatory to put in a smart comment against China if you're from there. Once you see the attitude of that country to China, you will know. Probably even worse than the US.
Young and immature - lucky to be able to travel and not so smart - that would explain his overall behaviour.....over entitled is another word I would use to describe this young man. Life will catch up one day.
exactly. Nobody calls other countries "Capitalist USA" or "Communist Vietnam". I think people should just stick to a countries name instead of bringing up its economic systems.
i find the title just absolutely pathetic. of course check-in procedure in China is strict just to present any possibility of terrorism and guarantee social safety. why the fuck was he bothered when the country prioritizes safety for their citizen rather than tourism convenience?
The song being sung is "Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies". Original sang by Beyond. I first heard this song sung by Hua Chenyu during the 2013 Superboy. Hua Chenyu has become my favourite singer now. I'm so looking forward to going to China next year and attending one of his amazing concerts. If you get the chance to go to one while you are in China, please go. Hi from New Zealand.
Kinda feel sorry for the kind locals if you understand what they are really saying. I mean, other people offer you kindness in their local language and you make rather tasteless jokes to ridicule them. It is just not cool.

Those guys on the bridge setting up their tripods, these are from the Traffic Control guys....they are counting cars in real time so that the data collected can be used to control and alter the timing of the traffic lights at various exit points of the highway, this is to relief the traffic jams that build up around certain times of the day. With enough data, the government knows the volumes, direction, exit points, in which further traffic lights from those exit points needed more alteration of timings to get a better control of traffic congestion
1:13 Um, as Macau borders China, it had its own border crossing into Zhuhai, China. So there's no need to travel to the Shenzhen border crossing unless they are specifically heading to Shenzhen.
Cheers for keeping your vlogs real in China - a bit surprised to see less people than HK Island when Dino and you walked out of the ferry terminal. Shen Zhen used to be more busy than HK pre-COVID. Another vlogger who went to China also couldn't get his Ali Pay to work on public transport systems. Both Shen Zhen and Macao used HK construction and engineering companies to help build infrastructure years ago. Majority of the Chinese nationals are nice and helpful, and Dino can be quite popular among the ladies 🥰 You won't get likes or subscribers from pro-CCP minions with your subtitles lol Some foreign vloggers go to Shanghai on public holidays to show the busy places and praise lovely tunes to get likes and subscribers. Kudos to you again for keeping it real.
@lightbulbisonfire physical, we thought we had a e Sim from Aireo on my mates phone but it didn't work. My phone needed a physical Sim so the good people of China directed me to Chinacom as they do short term Sims,Got 20 g for 15 days for 25 dollars and a phone number which you need for taxis mostly, they ask for the last for numbers of your phone number and ring your phone to find where you are, Once we got hooked up to Ali pay and We chat it was magnificent, a VPN of course. Wish we had those apps in Australia. Can use your phone for everything, metro, taxis, buses everything, hope this helps somebody because I wish I had known before hitting Shanghai so I could find a Chinacom phone mob before we got there 😁The people over there will get ya sorted amazing people, a girl called Angel got me sorted, she spent two hrs with me to get my Sim and I only asked her to aim me towards my hotel 😁
This VC is talking like he knows what a modern city are. Have he been to the modern train station in Melbourn or have he been to the high-tech city in Saigon (HMC). Why don't you show us the amount of camera in city of London and city of Sydney?
I think Chinese is refering to the writing system and Mandarin is refering to the speaking language. Cantonese is also a speaking dialect or language, but it uses the same Chinese writing system (although with some special twist). So something can only be written in Chinese but not in Mandarin.
Using Airalo or other esim card service is the best way to visit china. Or simply just roaming your abroad sim card, nowadays it's not that expensive anymore. The biggest advantage is you will stay outside of the "wall". But in some cases a local number is still necessary, for example didi car app needs you leaving a contact number and doesn't accept international numbers. 😇So probably just buy one basic local sim for your group is enough.
Actually, after many decades of revolution and development. China’s CCP has evolevd into a half communism and half Socialism government system. Its still a highly centralised goverement system,,, but in order to manage over 1.3 billion of people, some centralized measures is necessary. Now adays China has provincial and regional governments, although the president is still assigned ( not elected) by general public .
Why were subtitles of the hotel staff chatting totally wrong? They were just telling the girl to check out another room. Hope you weren’t trying to stir up racial tensions.
Don't ask a local Chinese for a favour to help you set up phone because that's really a big favour.
