- Learn How To Make An Easy DIY Cedar Christmas Garland
In this video I'll teach you how to make a beautiful Holiday Cedar Garland... using greenery (cedar...you can easily forage!) I go step by step through how to make this easy Christmas craft using winter greenery that will last all through the holiday season! Cedar is super long lasting, to help it live its best life, you can spritz the garland with water from a spray bottle every couple days.
If you want, you can add in ribbons/ornaments to dress it up... add in some other types of greenery (silver dollar eucalyptus or seeded eucalyptus is a great choice) or simply leave as is to enjoy the simplicity.

@@catalystcomet oh it turned out great!!!!! but i didnt make out the letters "J O Y" aaannnnd it withstood the -12degree 25mph wind 40mphwind gust storm we have had night-morning-day-evening too its still holdin strong and still looks good :)
@@jasonwagoner3201 where the heck do you live where you get that kind of weather? You must have done a really good job!
@@catalystcomet wisconsin, yesterday was like 4 below 0 and topped out at like 19degrees with the real-feel of like 8degrees and the wind was really strong too like sustained 25mph winds with gusts like 50mph
I had a sad old faux tree and chopped the branches in mind to do this for my staircase, lest all I need is wire now. Thank you 👍🏻
yay! Have fun :D
That looks like the best kind of fun! I cant wait to do this with plastic though. And I want flowers in it. I want a big plastic vine with flowers on it.

Easy is beautiful!! II had no money for decorating I I don't think I have EVER had a more gorgeous, welcoming,Chrustmasy home. I'll do this next year, too
@@stellaro519 I'm so glad my tips were able to make your home more Christmasy :)
Are you able to use lights on the garland if you have to mist it? Should I use outdoor lights? Love how simple yet beautiful you garland is. Thank you for a great tutorial!
I would be cautious getting lights wet - outdoor ones that are created to withstand water would be a better choice!
Great tutorial
thank you! It means a lot when people take the time to say they like my videos!
Love the video my question is where can get the Artificial cedar greenery at? I don't want live fresh cedar.
Hobby Lobby/Canadian Tire/Michaels … I would try those places !
How long will a cedar garland last inside?
It'll extend the lifespan if you mist it frequently (just with water) - I usually have mine inside for about a month!
Where can I buy the cedar to make this ? Great video.
Thanks ! A gardening store would probably have it
Sooo can natural from my garden be used?
@@esenciasdeluna83 yes for sure :) You can use the same technique and use other products too, like silver dollar eucalyptus
@@esenciasdeluna83 yes, I have a neighbor who does it every year
What kind of wire to you use to wrap if
I use 24 gauge florist wire
Do you wash or clean the cedar after getting it from outside?
I don't! It would be a lot of work to do that!
@@youfloraldiyflowershi do you have any problems with bugs coming in after? I just cut some off of my tree and bushes spur of the moment, I did wash them and sprayed them with bugs spray 😅 but I’m still scared of bugs
What can you do to rid the branches of bugs, before you put it on the table as a garland? Ty
I have never had a problem with bugs being in the cedar! You could give it a good shake outside to dislodge any potential bugs
Wash it down and let it dry.
Is this actually a thing? I've never experienced bugs, but the branch should do the trick.
Can u plz make a tutorial on how to make a faux cedar garland
You could use the same technique with faux cedar
@@youfloraldiyflowers y is good faux cedar so hard to find nd its so expensive 😫
@@emb433 ugh I hear your struggle! Good quality faux flowers are often more expensive than real ones!!! Dollar store ones are affordable, but they don't look very realistic
I’m having trouble keeping each bundle from unrolling when I hang it. Any tips?
The way I’m showing it is doing it with no “foundation string” and it can fall apart if you hang it (the technique I show in this video works great if you’re putting the garland on a mantle or table)
If you want to hang it, just use a piece of twine or rope and incorporate it into garland, essentially wiring the greenery to it (same technique as shown in the video but with rope or twine added) and it makes it super sturdy -hope that makes sense ? Let me know if not !
How long can this last outside? I am thinking of making a wreath
I've left a wreath outside for 3 months and it was good for that whole time!
No hunny for garland you use the limbs that you cut up then you stack an wrap
Can u use this inside??
Yes for sure !
If u use inside I would mist with water every day to keep it hydrated
“Stay-gar” it.
