A detailed tutorial that shows viewers how to make a eucalyptus table runner. Covers supplies needed, greenery used, as well as recommended quantities.
Very clear and helpful instructions. Thanks for providing storage information, care and a timeline for getting it done. Maybe showing a few shots of how you cut the pieces to size would have helped too. Thank you so much.
Thank you so, SO much for including how much you used. I have not been able to find this information anywhere, and it will help substantially with my wedding budget. Thank you and great video!!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Clear instructions, helpful tips - just what I was looking for. Also checked out your other tutorials and now I want to make them all 😂💛
Wonderful informative video. I do have a question the tutorial didn’t specify. You said you could make this ahead of time but you didn’t specify exactly how long in advance you could make it if it is in a cooler environment. I have a huge wedding to do as a wedding planner- just for friends not for pay- would it last up to 2-4 days in advance if I sprayed it in water say into wet paper towels in bins in a cook environment?
Excellent tutorial! Exactly what I was looking for! Would you consider doing a tutorial with this same garland and adding white flowers to it? What is the trick to keeping the added flowers looking fresh?
Hey Erica- if you're still looking for that other video you can find it here: th-cam.com/video/WlX4PJdlsuY/w-d-xo.html I use Podocarpus in that video, but Italian Ruscus is another great green for that method
Thank you so much! I'll be doing this the days before my daughter's wedding, and the tip about an air conditioned room was exactly what I needed to know! Now, where to find cases of eucalyptus?!
I made centrepieces of silver dollar and gypsophila in mason jars for a Bridal Client. They were made on the friday for a saturday wedding and were still great on the monday. The only thing is they were in water. Maybe you could make all the bunches a few days before and store in water and then just put the garland together the day before or day of the event.
Wow, how refreshing to see such a professionally done tutorial. Excellent, thank you. I do have a question, if I make this a couple days before the wedding and store it in my refrigerator, can I decorate the arch a day ahead of time, it will be in the 80;s or 90's (not direct sunlight) Or shall I decorate the arch the day of the wedding? Thank you.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I love eucalyptus. I am going to do a garland for my wedding. My question is after i have made it the day before, can i store it in a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator?
Thank you for such a wonderful tutorial. Could you please explain how to cover the end stems? I tried to it by turning the last bunch around but ended up with a weird dent in the garland. Thanks!
I am so happy that I came upon your fantastic tutorials. May I ask, if I want this garland to sit on top of the boarder of a 70 inch round , what is the best way to secure it? Thanks for your help & Best of luck!
Thank you for your very informative video. I am planning on buying the greenery in bulk and the supplier has a bunch as 10 stems . Is this your definition of a bunch? How long can this be stored in the fridge?
Wanting to answer for people looking: 2 days typically will not be enough for them to dry. It usually takes 2 to 3 weeks. You can however try Glycerin drying which makes them less brittle and takes around a week.
Thanks for the great tutorial! You mentioned a time frame for keeping the garland fresh, I have a wine cellar that stays pretty cold and moist. Will this work for keeping the garland fresh? If so how long do you think it will keep fresh?
Hello, I was wondering after the wedding, is there a way to preserve the greens so that you can do something with them. I was wondering about making a wreath with it, but was wondering how it would dry. Is there any kind of product I could spray on it, so that it doesn't look all dried out? It's so pretty, I hate to throw it out.
Love your tutorials, thank you! I live in Hawaii and I will be making 18 4 ft garlands for my niece's wedding in January. I do not have a professional refrigerator system. I was hoping you could offer some advice! I am planning to use seeded eucalyptus, dollar, boxwood and ruscus. I was thinking of making the individual "sprays" ahead of time and leaving them in water, then assembling a day before the wedding. Do you think that would help keep the greens fresh enough or am I too hopeful? :) We do have an air conditioned room where we can store the cut greens. Also I am thinking of ordering 50 bunches total of the combination I mentioned. Does this sound like enough? Sending aloha from Hawaii!
Hi, I was wondering how you went with this? I was thinking of doing the same thing! I am getting married on Kauai in May and am hoping the greenery will still look ok if I make it all the day before. Would love to hear! J x
could you create this look with the faux garland technique in your other video? would you not suggest cutting them in individual small pieces or would you keep that method and bundle them in small sections with wire but just lay the bunches on top of each other instead of worrying about connecting them to the twine?
Hi I have used seeded Ecu a lot in wedding bouquet and only made them 1 day ahead and kept them in water over nite , but still the seeded ecu look dried out the day of wedding?
no you're right you definitely need the twine otherwise when moving them onto the tables the pieces can fall apart I've discovered (on my own, sans twine)
Hi, Need your help. My son is getting married and I wanted to know how many days in advance can I make the garland. What process should I follow: collect the greens from the florist in the box direct from the farm and make the garlands and then for example the wedding is on Saturday evening so give the greens a good drink on Friday (dunk them totally soak in water)? OR do I give them a good drink of water and then make the garlands. These garlands will be place in the cool basement
I have a question about the direction when placing the leaves. You start off by placing the stems in the same direction but what do you do when you reach the center of the table? Do you switch sides in the centre of table to have the leaves spread out over the table?
Glad it was helpful :) The number of stems can vary quite a bit, and that's because seeded and dollar euc are branched greens. Sometimes they are just 3-4 few thick stems with lots and lots of smaller side shoots, and sometimes they're closer to 10 thinner stems in total. It also depends on the source for your greens- the bunches we buy and sell are standard for our market, but they may be different in other parts of the country/world. I know this makes it hard to figure out how much to order when you've never handled a bunch before. The best thing to do is ask your source if they can provide you with any info on the quantity per bunch they sell. They might be able to send you a photo, which is better than a stem count. Hope that helps!
Also, you explained all very clearly and all you said is so helpful. Thanks for sheer your knowledge.
Thank you for sharing this very straightforward way to make a garland.
Very clear and helpful instructions. Thanks for providing storage information, care and a timeline for getting it done. Maybe showing a few shots of how you cut the pieces to size would have helped too. Thank you so much.

how long can something like this stay fresh for?
Hi! This was an awesome video. Do you have any recommendations on how to preserve rose petals already off the stem for a few days ?
Simple and easy tutorial! Thank you! Seeking professional advice, what is an ideal price to pay for seeded and silver dollar eucalyptus? Thanks!

Hi!! Love your videos
3 years later i know. Lol
I wanted to see if you ever did this and if you did how did it work out for you if you did it 2 days before
Okay I need someone to answer this as well

How would you do something like this for round tables? Probably the one where it's not tied to twine but still not sure how to place it/
Spray some water on top could be an option to make it last longer?
How many stems do you need to make the garland you just made?
Hi if I’m making about 20 how many bunches would be good to get for them ?
Would you recommend use a spay bottle and get the garland wet every once in a while if you are unable to store it in a cooler? Thanks
Carrie Becker great question.

Do you dry the eucalyptus or spray it with glycerin to stop it wilting?
This is so helpful! About how long did it take you to make this? Thank you.
She said in the video it was about 10 mins per foot

Want to know the same thing!
Have you ever used an antitranspirent to prevent wilting? I wanted to make a garland out of citrus tree branches but I don't want them to wilt.
In like that, you share storage, temperature, time frame, how much is needed, and etc. Thank you.
Just wondering how long it can be on the tables for if it is summertime and and backyard reception? Thanks
...can I use Salal to make a garland? Does it come fresh? What does Salal look like when dried?
How many stems of the silver dollar eucalyptus are in a bunch?
Would a regular fridge work to keep it fresh?

How do you do the ends to make sure the wire and stems aren't showing?
Do they have faux eucalyptus available? I need 6 footlong garlands? Any ideas?
what did you do for each end of the garland?
