My opinion on first Untold still isn't formed yet since I just started. Nexus is a fantastic game but it is something I would consider to be a "too much". EO4 is something that is nice to come back to due to its shorter length. After Etrian Odyssey, I want to give 7th Dragon a try someday since it got some dna of Etrian Odyssey.
7th Dragon 3 is amazing. Fun fact, the producer for this game series is the same person who did Skies of Arcadia, so if you're fan of that one, you'll definetely enjoy this one too! Also I'm curently doing a Duelist Only run, and not only managing to fight everything, but it's surprisingly cool how the game still feels balanced even with 3 DUELISTS! XD

Be sure to pick up the Bravely Default Second Demo - it tells a different story with different characters and has unlimited plays. Also - Monster Hunter games have unlimited demos that let you fight some monsters (easy, not so easy, hard) in an arena with any of the weapon types in the game.

21 3DS *RPGS* YOU NEED There's a clear recurring theme throughout the video and the archetypes for these overlap a lot (i wont say theyre the same, out of respect)
An important thing about Fates. You cannot get any DLC - as in the two whole games not on your cartridge - until you have beaten Chapter 6. The part where you are forced to choose a side in the longstanding conflict that becomes an outright war now. If you choose Birthright/Conquest whilst you are on the "correct" cart nothing happens. But if you want to go with the opposite route or fellow the steps of the Mirage Kingdom in the Outrealms (yes, the story is wild and non-sensical at times) then it's DLC City. So yes, time is of the essence here. I beat the six chapters a month ago as a precaution and it took me about an hour to do so. Without any resets due to lost characters, so if you don't know what you are doing yet it easily could take longer.
Never owned 3ds just recently bought switch, fortunately the citra for android now really good for playing 3ds games, even my mediatek 900 android can play x2 graphic setting :D

There's nothing wrong with you. Tastes change or its just not your type of game! No need to force yourself! The ocean of games is deep and wide! I for one only got into turn based games as I grew older.

Fun list, it's always great to see lists that aren't just "every single mario, luigi, zelda, yoshi and kirby game" Especially Radiant Historia, DBFusion and LBX. I've never been drawn to SMT games, but I love lovelove Pokemon and DragonQuest, I need to just bite the bullet and try one of them
@@ChadOfStats I'm new to the console myself, only ever used nintendo consoles to play Pokemon and Dragon Quest games the past 25 years with Pokemon Red/Dragon Quest 1/2/3 on GBC. I've recently homebrewed my 3DS for my daughter before the eshop goes away, I threw every GBC/GBA/NDS/3DS game I've heard fond things about on there for her to play through as she grows up. 95% of what I installed were pre-3DS, like the golden sun/advanced wars trilogies, harvest moon/rune factories, Yugioh, Digimon, Dragon Quest 1-9, FF 1-6, and every Pokemon game pre-switch (all this fit on a 32gig SD card) The only 3DS title that isn't the obvious zelda etc is Sadame, I'm not sure how good it is but I love the artstyle especially for 3DS th-cam.com/video/xEo_NGJOEL8/w-d-xo.html

bought MH Stories digitally. Probably stupid paying $40 now instead of the massive sale later, but: Downloading and then downloading all the dlc, and keys takes hours. Just don't wait until evening of D-day or should i say E-day, you will be too late..
I got most (though not necessarily ALL) of the games on this list. I prioritized getting games with DLC, games that cost too much because of scalpers, & Virtual Console games over everything else. I managed to get some eShop digital exclusives before the eShop closed as well, but not all of them. I missed out on games like the Denpa Men, Excave, & some RPG-brawler hybrids like Sadame, Swords & Darkness, & River City: Knights of Justice.
Hmmm that's a tough one. Depending how far you are I would recommend just aiming for the dlc that gives you more story. But that depends on where your priorities lay. As far as I know it's also impossible to hold all the tablets available. Have you unlocked the download bar in the haven yet? If you haven't the only thing I can recommend is trying to speed through to that part.
Looking into it abit more. Since you don't get this games DLC from the eshop. It May be available after the eshop shuts down. But i can't make any promises. It would be best to prepare just in case.
@@ChadOfStats For clarification, not even DLC purchases will be possible after March 27. Even if you have the physical versions, or you’ve already downloaded digital versions, once the eShop closes, any unpurchased DLC will expire.
Loved Monster Hunter Stories! =) and Bravely series might have to look more into Etrian before the 27th (I have some but not all). Project X Zone sadly is not on the eshop anymore. =(
Monster Hunter Stories is so fun! Have you tried it's sequel? Sorry, that was my failing for not checking to make sure all the games were still on the eshop. It just didn't occur to me. I still recommend the games on this list however. So hopefully you can find a physical copy before the price rises anymore after the eshop closes.

Tastes are something impossible to standarize. I just watched all your list hoping I could learn and add something to my list. To be honest I found a lot of cute titles but anything I would find Fun or at least memorable. I just learn a lot about 3Ds titles I will never buy xD lol.
How are you recommending FE Fates over FE Echoes shadows of valentia though, if one had to be left out, it would be fates ! Strongly recommend this one, my favorite out of the three.

Sadly DBZ Fusions (and Extreme Butoden) have been delisted for a while, so there's no way to download them as they're now physical-only :/ As for the constant Pokemon references... Technically Dragon Quest 5 started the trend as the protagonist befriends various monsters for his party, so we've got DQ5 to thank for this gimmick Pokemon and SMT/Persona have been making use of all these years later :P

@@ChadOfStats Yeah, I realized the delisting sometime earlier this week when I tried to look it up after remembering it existed and watched a bit of TeamFourStar playing it... It's a shame, looks like fun to just mess around with, similar to the fanmade Pokemon fusion generator. As for SMT, after reviewing things, seems I was confused with Persona 1 which was around in the mid-90's on the PS1... but I do vividly recall Pokemon's creator citing DQ5 being an inspiration. Being not too familiar with SMT, I can't say for sure if it was doing the whole monster/demon-befriending thing as far back as the original, but I wouldn't rule it out. There's been a bunch of RPGs the west never got until the 90's.
@@SorcererLance Well, I hope you can find a physical copy if you are still interested in the game. As for Megami Tensei. If I am correct it was doing it as far back as the original. But I don't claim to be infallible, so who knows. And it's definitely possible that despite Megami Tensei using the concept before Dragon Quest. That Dragon Quest was the inspiration.
@@ChadOfStats I at least got Extreme Butoden when it was digital... but I sadly missed out on a valuable preorder bonus it originally had by having Butoden 2 for the Super Famicom as a downloadable game... Though all the music was replaced due to the original composer being caught plagiarizing music.
Dragon Quest VII is my favorite game in the series by far. Its basically like a whole season of a kid's adventure show shoved into a game. I'm happy Fantasy Life is starting to get a bit more recognition. For years the most attention it got amounted to 'Pocket Skyrim' and it barely even got that much credit. Smt 4 and Strange Journey stand as some of the greatest jrpgs of all time.
@@ChadOfStats its the greatest rpg ever made with a bond system that rivals 3 houses and will bring you to tears. My favorite moment in the game is when Denji from Chainsaw Man proposed to Ami of the band Puffy Ami Yumi only to be stopped by Madara Uchiha who proclaimed his love for her. After obviously choosing Denji not only did Madara enter into a depression but as did real life Kanye West for he held secret feelings for her. They all made up in the end over coffee and gossip about how they hear weird noises coming from fictional character, Donald Trump from Minecraft Ai Fame's room. Truly an experience unlike any other

Is the awakening dlc worth buying?
It really depends on what you want. I would go for the DLC that add classes and story.
I got most (though not necessarily ALL) of the games on this list. I prioritized getting games with DLC, games that cost too much because of scalpers, & Virtual Console games over everything else. I managed to get some eShop digital exclusives before the eShop closed as well, but not all of them. I missed out on games like the Denpa Men, Excave, & some RPG-brawler hybrids like Sadame, Swords & Darkness, & River City: Knights of Justice.
I'm playing dragon quest 7 but I don't know if I'll be able to get the dlc on time. Any tips?
Hmmm that's a tough one. Depending how far you are I would recommend just aiming for the dlc that gives you more story. But that depends on where your priorities lay. As far as I know it's also impossible to hold all the tablets available. Have you unlocked the download bar in the haven yet? If you haven't the only thing I can recommend is trying to speed through to that part.
Looking into it abit more. Since you don't get this games DLC from the eshop. It May be available after the eshop shuts down. But i can't make any promises. It would be best to prepare just in case.
@@ChadOfStats For clarification, not even DLC purchases will be possible after March 27. Even if you have the physical versions, or you’ve already downloaded digital versions, once the eShop closes, any unpurchased DLC will expire.

Sorry, that was my failing for not checking to make sure all the games were still on the eshop. It just didn't occur to me.
I still recommend the games on this list however. So hopefully you can find a physical copy before the price rises anymore after the eshop closes.

Tastes are something impossible to standarize. I just watched all your list hoping I could learn and add something to my list. To be honest I found a lot of cute titles but anything I would find Fun or at least memorable. I just learn a lot about 3Ds titles I will never buy xD lol.
How are you recommending FE Fates over FE Echoes shadows of valentia though, if one had to be left out, it would be fates ! Strongly recommend this one, my favorite out of the three.

Sadly DBZ Fusions (and Extreme Butoden) have been delisted for a while, so there's no way to download them as they're now physical-only :/
As for the constant Pokemon references... Technically Dragon Quest 5 started the trend as the protagonist befriends various monsters for his party, so we've got DQ5 to thank for this gimmick Pokemon and SMT/Persona have been making use of all these years later :P

@@ChadOfStats Yeah, I realized the delisting sometime earlier this week when I tried to look it up after remembering it existed and watched a bit of TeamFourStar playing it... It's a shame, looks like fun to just mess around with, similar to the fanmade Pokemon fusion generator.
As for SMT, after reviewing things, seems I was confused with Persona 1 which was around in the mid-90's on the PS1... but I do vividly recall Pokemon's creator citing DQ5 being an inspiration.
Being not too familiar with SMT, I can't say for sure if it was doing the whole monster/demon-befriending thing as far back as the original, but I wouldn't rule it out. There's been a bunch of RPGs the west never got until the 90's.

As for Megami Tensei. If I am correct it was doing it as far back as the original. But I don't claim to be infallible, so who knows. And it's definitely possible that despite Megami Tensei using the concept before Dragon Quest. That Dragon Quest was the inspiration.
@@ChadOfStats I at least got Extreme Butoden when it was digital... but I sadly missed out on a valuable preorder bonus it originally had by having Butoden 2 for the Super Famicom as a downloadable game... Though all the music was replaced due to the original composer being caught plagiarizing music.

Dragon Quest VII is my favorite game in the series by far. Its basically like a whole season of a kid's adventure show shoved into a game.
I'm happy Fantasy Life is starting to get a bit more recognition. For years the most attention it got amounted to 'Pocket Skyrim' and it barely even got that much credit.
Smt 4 and Strange Journey stand as some of the greatest jrpgs of all time.

@@ChadOfStats its the greatest rpg ever made with a bond system that rivals 3 houses and will bring you to tears. My favorite moment in the game is when Denji from Chainsaw Man proposed to Ami of the band Puffy Ami Yumi only to be stopped by Madara Uchiha who proclaimed his love for her. After obviously choosing Denji not only did Madara enter into a depression but as did real life Kanye West for he held secret feelings for her. They all made up in the end over coffee and gossip about how they hear weird noises coming from fictional character, Donald Trump from Minecraft Ai Fame's room. Truly an experience unlike any other
