I have an article about the P9 from a publication called The International Arms Review. The article was written by a German gun writer in the late 60s/early 70s when the pistol was first released, and has been translated from German to English. The writer tested the gun over a period of five months, and fired over 1,000 rounds. The pistol in the article is a P9, not a P9S, so it is presumably one of the 485 pistols produced. The article also has photos of a P9 in the Sport configuration, which has the barrel weight, and also a set of anatomical wooden target grips, though I think these were custom made, not HK factory.. Weirdly, when talking about the trigger stop, the author mentions firing the pistol in double-action mode. This does not make sense, because the pistol definitely appears to be the P9, and does not have the curved trigger guard of the P9S. I dont know whether the review pistol was some type of transitional model, or if this was just an error on the author's part (or perhaps an error in translation). Anyway, I have a pdf copy of the article, though I don't know how I would go about sending it to you.
I've never seen an HK P9 or P9S outside of Gunbroker. I guess they weren't popular in Florida or they're all in someone's collection. I'd love to get one someday to compliment my HK collection.
Good review, but next time hold still, zoom in on different angles of the details of the pistol. Less hands more pistol. The P9 series are complex mechanical exotica. Takes great skill to get inside for any repairs. Buyer's beware. 🇩🇪🇺🇲👍
Fred Dryer actually did carry a HK P9 Sport in the pilot episode of Hunter back in 1984.
Thought it was a p9s he used the first 2 seasons till he switched over to a revolver in season 3?

@@johnklatt3522 I was talking real world, my introduction to the P9S was actually Robocop where most of the Detroit Police are using them.
I have the same gun SPORT 9MM serial number 90428 and its for sale, I think only 485 are made
