    Love the different sounds of the operation, and then no guitar at the end.

    While my guitar is in store for setting up, I need to watch some acoustic full setup video so I know what are they doing to my guitar😆

    I subscribe to a lot of 'restorer' channels on TH-cam (old tools, lighters, swords, machinery, etc.). I got the same kind of "meditative" feeling watching this video. Calming and interesting. That "tuning check gadget" near the end is very cool; I assumed people used a device separate from the guitar.

      I used to watch TysyTube and HandTool Rescue all the time! It can be so interesting watching people do their thing. You can get external tuners that are much more accurate but this one built in works fine for a quick check :) thanks for watching!

    Yo hello and all that stuff, love the Martin - LOVE IT! Strings, let’s talk strings, I have been fighting with Strings selection recently, it’s been pissing me off as I had no idea I cared. I had to darn near purchase every light string I could find to figure out what the hell I want - and shoot - this cat uses the blue pack from Martin! Yup, dig it. The Last pack I have yet to string from my string-a-thon is the Retro pack, once I break the set I have I’ll see what’s up with the Retros. I had no idea I cared so much about strings but right now I love the Martin blue pack for this solid mahogany street master that I abuse. All mine gets is a wet sponge in the case to keep it hydrated.

      I'm so glad you're going through the gauntlet of strings. I've always wished that I could play a bunch of sets back to back to see what really feels best. It's so hard when each pack is a month apart. I will say, I stumbled on the blue pack because of a 10-pack sale and I was pleasantly surprised. Probably wont last as long as the nanoweb elixers, but I feel like the tone is just right. You'll have to let me know about the retros! I've never tried them :)

      I go with the retros (on a Martin). I go with 0.11, and is tuned down half a step. Really love the sound. You don´t get this metallic sound for the first half hour, they sound “worn” from th beginnig.

    I do wonder: is there any functional difference between doing the 1st winding above the string and going below the string from the start?
    I mean some use one method, others use the other
    But does either actually hold an advantage over the other?

    • @randyrektor
      @randyrektor  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thats a solid question. I was always taught this way, but who knows if theres merit to it lol!

      @@randyrektor I know both ways are possible as long as you go lower and lower after the 1st winding

      I think I got mine from a local music store. I can’t remember if I put an Amazon link in the description, but you could check there too. It’s a type of ‘graphite lubricant’ that helps the strings distribute tension across the nut. Hope this helps!
