I have never heard a more accurate tone emulation in my life. A lot of these I can't tell the slightest difference. The clean tone not so much but goddamn. And this Dudes playing is spot fucking ON
I loved Dimebags tone. I lost my shit when he was killed. He was my ultimate guitar hero growing up. Thank you so much Ola for loving Dime so much! I have already purchased my Solar guitar, and having this in common makes me even more proud to be an owner of your amazing instrument!
What's so cool is that when the post-processing is turned off like you did at the end of the video, it sounds exactly what I remember the RG-100 randall amps sounding like back in the day when I use to play though one decades ago in a metal band. That brought back a lot of great memories.
This is the closest I've ever heard anyone not named Dimebag get to his album tone. I've watched plenty of people, including you, mess around with the actual amp and gear he used on the albums, and even that didn't get as close as this. The mix at the start of the video was spot on to the album sound. My jaw just dropped. Great job. If you blindfolded a Pantera fan, and played that intro clip to them, I'm convinced most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference and they'd think it was just an HQ Remaster of the original track. Jesus, so good.
When you opened up with Heresy I was convinced that it was the actual track. This is coming from someone who listened to CFH multiple times a day for like 2 years throughout middle school. You blew my mind with the tone and how precise you were able to pick like Dime. Great job!
Cemetery gates was the song that introduced me to squeals and what I played along with learning how to do them, ironically using a solid state Randall and a distortion pedal. I was a kid with a practice amp and a first act, learning to rock out. That was 12 years ago, and guitar is still my favorite hobby.
