We worked closely with Dimebag Darrell's long-time guitar tech Grady Champion to create this software that NAILS his tone from the groundbreaking Pantera album Cowboys From Hell. Check it out with Wes Hauch as he shows you cool new official gear in AmpliTube by running through a ton of CFH riffs and leads - and even some other great Dimebag tones you can get that aren't on CFH.
These are accurate emulations of the hard-to-get gear Dimebag used. You'll definitely recognize the songs - and the tone. Stay tuned long enough to also hear Wes whip the bar back and work it out with some riffs, leads, squeals, and more.

His vibrato is astounding. It will win all the bar fights and pick up all the ladies in the bar without question.
Thats what made Dime so unique, his vibrato and small flavors he would throw in, like butter. His playing was pure magic 100% of the time.

@@sepultubob Blues is not technical its about feel and yes listen to stevie ray vaughan or some hendrix. Bending is the key technique. Its about what notes not to play dime mastered this.
Wes has been one of the ONLY players I've ever heard who can faithfully cover dimes solos and have them be accurate while also throwing in his own little touches and style. He doesn't change things up enough to rock the boat I guess...those solos are iconic and you can tell the respect and influence dime had on him. The dude is just a monster. These sims sound incredible.

I have to say, I've been a Pantera fan for 20 plus years now, dime is and always will be my favorite guitarist. I've seen so many famous (including zakk Wylde) and not so famous guitar players cover Pantera songs, all of then fall short of dimes style, even if they can play both for note, but they always lack that dime style and vibe. You sir Mr.Wes, are one of the best I've ever seen play his style. Thank you.
I know tone is subjective but dimebag had the greatest guitar tone in metal.

At first I wasn't onboard with this because there are some apps where a dime sound was attempted but not quite there. But after reading up on it and seeing that Grady Champion worked on it, then I was all about it because he's really the only person who knows dimebags sounds in and out. This was a killer video man. Good job!

I was fortunate enough to be right in front of Wes, when he got this guitar given to him on the last day of the BOO, Thy Art is Murder Tour. Let me tell you. It was like watching a little kid get his dream guitar. For his BIRTHDAY, no less! Watching this made me smile. Great Guitarist, great plugin, can't wait to try it out.

@@jackko21 I had no weed at the time, I was 17 and it took all the money in my piggy bank to buy enough gas to ge there and back. We had free tickets, so we didnt need money for that. Other than the DIME himself you can't do better than getting Grady Champion to help out with the rig. Seriously man that's just a huge win getting the man that hooked up and tuned the axes and the amps and effects on the road. He knew that gear and tone better than anyone else.

That is probably the best cowboys from Hell solo cover I have ever seen.. he may have slipped a note or two probably notes he nailed next go around but that was nice.. I am more impressed by his ability than AmpliTube..

Sweet, got some good advice from this. I have AmpliTube 5 Max which has the CFH collection but I've never been able to get a big and chunky sound from it. Granted I am using PC speakers (decent ones...but still they aren't really designed for that kinda use) but should be getting some studio monitors soon. But I think one of the most important things to try is make sure the signal going into the plugin is hot, and really dig in with my playing. I'm by no means an expert guitarist but even I can tell how much strength Dime had in his fingers and that definitely made a difference to how full on his sound was. Also really need to get the flanger/doubler and reverb working nicely to complete the whole vibe.
Awesome video. Sounds exactly like him. Is that really how Dime played the main riff on cemetary gates, with the power chords? I’ve always played it starting with an a chord with the pinches in the 2nd 3rd and 4th frets on the g and b strings
Same man, and I believe Dime played it the same way. I mean, I learned the song from an interview he did in the 90's for Guitar World, where he demo'd the songs for them. So I trust it's right hahaha. Maybe we should look at some live footage though.
