    I love resin. I love realism. Resin is phenomenal. Absolutely.

      Yea definitely, I think for anyone most concerned with accuracy resin is the top choice

    Diecast = 1080p
    Resin = 4K

    If it's 1:18...I prefer Resin/Composite. If it's 1:64 I prefer diecast.

    This is a great chance to see the differences in the two types of 1/64 models. Well done showing nearly identical cars….the crisper resin details are apparent.

      Thanks so much David, I agree the Resin is great for detail but I do like to handle the cars so I’ll always be a fan of diecast too 🙂

    hello sir , is it okay if we display resin model under a direct light such diorama light ?

    • @autofigment
      @autofigment  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Should be ok but it depends how strong the light is and it’s best not to expose the cars 24 hours a day

    I don't care much about rolling wheels or not, but on a diecast I expect the wheels to roll a bit.

    Resin models use soft materials, they can be easier to produce finer details.

    David sent me your way; great subject today. I like this Makeup brand even if they are very expensive. Hope they do more castings no one else does though since I'm happy with my Hobby Japan one at a fraction of the cost.

      Thanks so much for checking out the video, I agree on Hobby Japan too, great value for what you get

    I'm not super concerned about the material. The main thing is how it looks. But, all else equal, I would prefer diecast metal.

      I can understand that, I like diecast cars as an "object" more so than resin/plastic, but I can appreciate the extra detail. I guess it's win win either way with good models/castings :)

    Thanks for sharing this. We can now get the idea of Resin being far more sharper and tighter than diecast models.

    Excellent video . I collect premium race cars only, in 1/64 Tarmac Works, Spark, Mini GT. in 1/43 Looksmart, Spark, IXO, TSM and Mini Champ and in 1/18 Auto Art. I Would assume that most are resin due to price and attention to detail especially the 1/43 and 1/18. Most, if not all are fragile and the less expensive models ie. Mini Champs and Sparky 1/64 have arrived missing mirrors ( really ticks me off ).

    • @autofigment
      @autofigment  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks 🙂 and I can understand the frustration when something comes with a part missing or broken, very frustrating, especially with expensive models

    A friend of David's is a friend of mine. Welcome to the community and fantastic breakdown of these awesome vehicles. I think resin leaves much more room for details so they will prevail 9 times out of 10

    Thank you for mentioning the difference between Hobby Japan and TLVN. I was thinking about trying out Hobby Japan but since they don't have consistent roll, Imma focus on TLVN. Same price range but rolling in TLVN is a must-have feature.

    • @autofigment
      @autofigment  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. Hobby Japan are nice, but TLVN are more consistent in quality and as you mention, always roll. Definitely a good choice 🙂

    As a person who is just starting to collect, I think that the resin models are much better with the details but the premium die-cast models are best bang for buck, in my opinion. I will still get a few resin models for the cars that I really want to have as close to perfection.

    • @autofigment
      @autofigment  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've done similarly and only bought resin models of cars I really want (or if they were a fantastic deal). There are some really nice diecast models though, and one of the biggest benefits of diecast is they can be handled safely (well, most of them) if that's a concern. But resin can't be beat for detail :)

    what does the bottom of the resin model look like? are there details?

    • @autofigment
      @autofigment  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question, but unfortunately it’s attached to the base by 2 screws and they aren’t easily accessible. Most resin aren’t intended to be taken off the base because they’re fragile compared with metal diecast, but it is possible (I haven’t done it yet though 😅)
