We first saw this bread while watching the Magic Pill on Netflix, this lady was making keto fat bread and we knew we had to recreate the recipe at home, turns out, it's only a few ingredients and bam, you have the best keto bread you can ever image, not that eggy stuff that most people make. I am 190 I always been 145 my whole life at one point lower than that I've gained over 50 lbs in the last 4 years and now that I am engaged I am wanting more to be healthy again. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx5VQ5nUzHu6i0O5_u7ipyLnCz0lbsSvr0 I am not fat but I am thick and have muscle. I am very close to how you were but a lil smaller but I am so sick people making comments to me like I'm huge or like you said having shorts that used to be so cute on me and now I can't even find a pair to fit me. I used to love shopping now I don't even want to go to the store and if I do I pick the biggest size don't even try it on and deal with it. I went from size 5 to size idk because I don't even want to know the real number. I hate looking at pics of myself now or me before. thank you for your video it's time to make a change.

    Protip for FlavCity going forward: Anything nonstick, including sprays and parchment, will keep non-gluten breads from rising as much as they could. So don't grease the sides. Just put parchment on the bottom. Let the pan cool and use a sharp, thin knife to detach it from the sides, and it will get at least 2 more inches of rise.

    Terrific bread. I have used walnuts and pecans instead of macadamia nuts, they they are so expensive. Turned out great with both types of nuts. For the coconut butter, I just grind up coconut flakes in a food processor till they turn to butter consistency.

      Macadamia are just about the only low oxalate nut or seed in existence. Further, keto ppl stay fat bc they eat this stuff all day everyday, so the expense of the ingredients should cut that back for you.

    I just made this bread, but I used Almond Butter instead of Coconut Butter. Still came out good, but I think I should of given it a few more minutes in the oven. It came out a little more dense than I like normally. This was my first time making Keto bread. I checked and it did not spike my blood glucose.

    Here are some questions that are going through your mind right now about how to make keto bread.
    #1 You have to use macadamia nuts for this recipe, their high fat content makes the batter silky and smooth. You can try to do it with peeled almonds, but I am not sure it’s going to work.
    #2 If you don’t have coconut butter you can use almond butter, but the texture on the bread is best with coconut. So if you are allergic to coconuts, use almond butter and almonds to make the bread.
    #3 Where do I buy everything bagel seasoning. You can buy a Trader Joe’s or use the Amazon link I have below, the flavors of the onion, garlic, and salt together is magical.

    Thanks for this recipe guys!
    For those of you who are worried about the cost or the availability of some ingredients in this recipe...I never use macadamia nuts. I use peanut butter. And I use a little bit of water instead of the coconut butter (you can also try with melted butter, I haven't yet) and also a small amount of ground toasted flaxseed flour which I grind in a coffee maker. It works out perfectly. Please guys, try out different ingredients and see what works for you instead of asking if it works. You might create something phenomenal. And I use the same recipe for pancakes. Peanut butter, water, eggs, flaxseed flour (toasted. I hate it raw), baking powder, salt, vanilla.
    Happy baking!

    The most 'like bread' keto bread (without so many eggs and having an 'eggy' taste) I've found is made with almond flour and pysllium husk powder. I make it for my burger buns. 5 tbsp psyllium husk powder, 1 1/2 cups of almond flour, three egg whites, 2 tsp baking powder, 2 tsp apple cider vinegar and 1 tsp sea salt. Add 3/4 boiling water to the dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients. Mix it together and bake at 400F for an hour. It makes about 3 medium sized buns. I might double the ingredients and bake it in a bread pan next time, see how it toasts.

    This is my second time watching this recipe and I was going to make it but honestly the ingredients are just way too expensive you can get macadamia nuts at all these now I believe they're salted at $8.49 a bag which is a great price the almond butter I saw it on Amazon for $16 for two jars but I couldn't tell the ounces of the jars. Minus the cost of the other ingredients I'm already over $20 for one loaf of bread

    The documentary you mentioned, The magic pill, is extremely important for people to watch. It explains how processed food affects our health from diabetes, heart disease, etc. All those who are especially overweight, can profit from watching this video. Anyone on diabetes can possiby discontinue taking insulin. Some on this documentary did just that. I hope many people watch. I watched for the comment about the bread, but came away with so much more.

    I made this bread in Dec 2019 - my first time. It was, like others said, EXPENSIVE with the Macadamias and Coconut butter - which would be ok if it was REALLY good. The texture was wonderful, size was nice, but the taste wasn't what I was expecting. Guess it is the macadamias. I like macadamia cookies, so I thought it would be good as a bread. But, there is a little "off" taste that needs jelly to hide the taste - but no keto jelly in my house so I used a little keto homemade cranberry sauce. I will freeze it and use it when I want a grilled cheese - but won't be making it again. Dessi - try this again with a different nut! PS I watched the movie, the magic pill, very interesting. Thanks for trying to find things we can use on our Keto journey!

    The bread looks incredible. I have baked with almond meal and coconut flour, but never thought about using macadamia nuts! I love the idea. • @greeneyedcatwink
    @greeneyedcatwink 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Made this and it turned out REALLY good. But pricey! I added butter powder to it because I happened to have it. It may have even made it better. I searched and found a site that has "macadamia nut flour" at nuts.com. It is a bit cheaper than most brands. Its $15 for 1 lb. but the shipping was $6. (If you buy more on the site, this probably won't be as impactful.) I believe 1 pound makes 2 cups, so 2 loaves. With all that goes into this, it is about a $15 per loaf bread. But if you don't have a big family and/or can afford it. It is really great!

      The "obviously" comment was dry humour irony - because they almost always use lemon zest in their recipes; secondly, while he could have waited a second longer, I think he was just hyper aware and focussed on keeping the shot/framing less visually cluttered. For the record, I think he has some weird quirks, but I put up with those cringe moments because they, as a team - do a great job, very polished.

    Ok so, thank you for this. My father was a Baker for 50 years. I worked in the bakery for a few years. My Fav thing was fresh baked bread out of the oven with butter on it. This bread you made looks great to eat. I have started doing keto AFTER a 5 day water fast. Now week 3 and 20 lbs lost. I feel great. I am trying to find a bread for burgers and hot dogs and even a PB&J that I can relate to. But This looks dense. Hardy. Not Fluffy, airy. Maybe I'm asking to much. I just don't want a cake for bread. I just made it tonight and followed their cookbook recipe exactly, adding BOTH baking soda & baking powder and it still didn’t rise much at all. I saw another comment (from ApplachiaMarv) who recommends not using parchment paper or oils on the sides of the pan for non-gluten breads in order to get more rise... will try that next time. Also may try adding a bit of active instant yeast and psyllium husk for more rise & fluffiness. But I think overall it tastes good. Now gonna make French Toast with eggs and bacon Saturday AM with this 👍😋 thanks Flavcity!

      There are many online tools that are easy to use. 1 cup of nuts is 125 grams.

    • @CmdrX3
      @CmdrX3 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      This is the problem, 1 cup of flour is a different weight than 1 cup of nuts and even a different weight to 1 cup of Castor sugar, a cup of liquid is not a weight, whereas 125g is 125g regardless of what you are weighing. Although it was more the coconut butter I was looking for than the nuts, which I just used hazelnuts to get a weight (135g) yet pecan nuts a cup is converted to 115g. I just converted butter weight which came to 225g. I know this all probably is second nature for Americans, but to me it just seems so inconsistent. Anyhow I did the recipe, and turned out pretty well, didn't rise quite as much as yours, but that's probably down to the slight different weights... tasted great though. One other thing, I used creamed coconut as anywhere I looked said it was the same thing.
