Some Tame Gazelle is one of a few that I gave 5 stars last year ✨ loved loved loved it! You'll in for a good/cozy/fun time, Kelly 🤩 You remind me to pick up Miss Read too so thank you 😉
Hi Kelly 👋. Gilead will be my first Marilyn Robinson, I do find her a little intimidating but know I will grow as a reader for the experience. Go well Kelly.
@@nathanfoung2347 Nathan, I’m so happy you are going to read Gilead! I’m really scared, even though I’ve read it before. Hopefully as we read it together, things will become clearer! Be well, friend. 💛
Thank you for the tag! I've never seen this tag before, but I really enjoyed hearing your answers. Agatha Christie is a great comfort read choice! Finding a good balance is something I'm wanting to work on this year as well.
I've never read Barbara Pym either; I'll be interested to hear how you like it. My house last week definitely looked like Miss Havisham was jilted at Christmas. Including a leaky bathroom pipe! Great job on the tag!
What a great tag to start the year! A cheater’s way to make thumbnails (which is what I use) is to pose for a moment at the beginning of your video, then start your discussion. Then, before you upload your video, take a screenshot of the posed part. (Then edit that section out of your video.) I type a title on the screenshot and use it as my thumbnail-but you could even just hold up the books you’re going to be discussing.
Thanks Kelly for always making enjoyable videos to watch and listen to! Currently trying to finish the Lonesome Dove series by Larry McMurtry (which has quickly become a favorite). I'd like to read some of his other books later this year if I can as well. I'm also going to tackle Wuthering Heights later this month, cant wait!
@@JoelSwagmanReviews Definitely you are not alone! I remember the endings of Nemesis, Murder on the Orient Express and And Then There Were None. Oh and Hallowe’en Party, but only because I read it twice. The rest are gone! Admittedly, I haven’t read a ton more Agatha Christie, but enough to know I’ve forgotten it. 💛🎉
Yes, some are more memorable than others. In the last one I read Poirot solves the murder based on the expression of a character in the first act. I didn't bother rereading to discover if we are told about the facial expression. It made the story more memorable than it would otherwise have been.
Best of luck with your reading goals! In addition to Kara Dansky's excellent book The Reckoning, which I've already been reading, my first book of the year will be Phillip Norman's new biography of George Harrison. I found it on the shelf of new books when I visited my favorite branch of the local library, which I hadn't been to in awhile, on New Year's Eve.
Awesome video Kelly. Glad you took the dive to do this tag! Really enjoyed your answers as your picks were from books i am not familiar with - which is always neat! Happy New Years to you!
