I think they like it to be a nice steak house "dress code" men wearing a nice shirt and slacks, ladies in a dress or office wear...but here in Oregon half the year is rain, which means ladies dress shoes get slogged by the time you leave your car to walk to the door. Slogged means not only oozing water from the soles but the upper part of your nice shoes take a beating from the cold rain slapping your feet from above to match the wet bottoms and toes. So most if the year, pants and water proof shoes, to a hooded coat backed up with an umbrella to save your makeup when the sleet or slanted rain blows your hood off.

Started watching this and got hungry. 🤣🤣🤣. That steak is absolutely a deal for a 72 oz steak for $72. I would definitely try it if I'm in the Portland, OR area.
I was thinking the same thing. These professionals are just at a whole different level of eating. I would have taken maybe 10 bites of that steak and couldn't eat any more.

They train their stomachs for this, thats why most of them are in shape because they burn the calories but aint the same time, train their stomach to handle it

You have to Remember back 75 years ago up until the mid 80's most of the patrons at Sayer's would have been loggers. They would love to do challenges to get a meal for free, and they were big boys with huge appetites. Therefore it's no surprise that there is so many winners and many from so long ago.
Exactly. Back when logging was done by the two-person saw, a lumberjack would likely have been some very large guys who had just burned a few thousand calories!

Medium rare, but I would try rare. It's always great to see you two doing a challenge together.
For these challenges, rare and even medium rare makes it much harder as it takes more time to chew and it has more moisture.
